LOGINBoth guys stared at him in surprise. He sounded very annoyed.
“Come on, Cap. Let it go already. Coach had settled things after practice.” Vic immediately jumped in. “Exactly,” Nath agreed. “Leon was rough during training, but honestly? That rookie is good.” Noa stared at them blankly for a second before realization hit him. They thought he was still annoyed about what happened in the rink. Unknown to them was the fact that something more serious had transpired in the shower stall. He was actually annoyed with Leon for flirting with Sebastian. The memory of their shower had been torturing him all afternoon, but Leon sat there and smiled as if it was nothing. “Damn it,” Noa muttered to himself. His jaw clenched tightly as his eyes drifted back toward Leon again. He was laughing softly at something Sebastian whispered. And for some reason, that irritated Noa more. He left the cafeteria with annoyance. The rest of the afternoon passed slowly. Classes ended one after another until students finally started leaving campus. Noa had almost convinced himself to ignore Leon for the rest of the day. Then he saw him entering the restroom alone. Instantly, Noa changed direction and followed him inside. The restroom was quiet except for the distant dripping of water from a leaking faucet. Noa watched Leon disappear into one of the stalls. He waited patiently. Then the stall door finally unlocked. The second Leon stepped out, Noa shoved him back inside. Then, she slammed the door shut behind them. “What the heck?” Leon hissed in shock, stumbling backward against the stall wall. “What are you doing?” Noa stepped in closer immediately, blocking the exit with his body. “The better question is,” he said darkly, “What the heck are you doing with Sebastian?” Leon blinked, then narrowed his eyes. “What?” “And what was all that crap during lunch, hmm?” Noa continued, voice low and dangerous. “The smirking. The touching. The staring.” Leon stared at him for a second before crossing his arms slowly. “That’s none of your business.” Noa’s jaw flexed. “The guy likes me,” Leon added deliberately. “He’s rich. He treats me well, and…” “He likes you?” Noa let out a short, humorless laugh. “Do you even know how many people Sebastian has liked before you?” “I don’t care.” Leon tried to step around him. Noa blocked him instantly. “Move.” “No.” Leon glared hard at him. “Let me out.” But Noa didn’t budge. The tiny restroom stall suddenly felt suffocating, with both of them trapped inside. “You tell me something first,” Noa murmured. Leon frowned. “Do you like him?” Silence followed. Noa’s eyes darkened further. “Do you want to become his next boyfriend?” Leon looked genuinely caught off guard by the question. For a second, he just stared at Noa in confusion. His eyes were studying him. Then finally he found his voice again. “Whatever I decide,” Leon said slowly, “is none of your business.” His eyes narrowed slightly. “Why do you even care, huh?” Noa chuckled softly. But this time, nothing was teasing about it. His gaze stayed locked on Leon’s face as he leaned slightly closer. “Why do I care?” he repeated quietly. The air between them tightened instantly. Because honestly? Noa was starting to ask himself the same damn question. Noa stared at Leon in silence. The restroom stall suddenly felt painfully small, with Leon standing inches away. He glared at him like he was the most irritating person alive. And somehow, that glare only made things worse. Ever since Noa had first looked into those piercing blue eyes, his head had been a complete mess. At first, he thought it was because Leon reminded him of Diamond. Those same cold but beautiful eyes. The same sharp tongue and pink lips. The same way they both made his chest tighten without warning. And, it had gone beyond resemblance. Noa wanted Leon himself, and it was driving him insane. Every time Leon laughed with someone else, Noa felt irritated. Every time Sebastian touched him, something ugly twisted inside his chest. The worst part? Leon never smiled at him like that. He only got glares, arguments, and cold words. They all depicted hatred. Somehow, that hurt more than he wanted to admit. Especially when Diamond had already been avoiding him for about a month without explanation. He would read his chats but never reply. It felt like he was losing both of them at once. “No answer, huh?” Leon asked coldly after the silence had stretched too long. “Move. I’m going out.” He shoved lightly at Noa’s shoulder, but Noa didn’t move. Leon glared harder. “Did you suddenly lose your hearing?” Noa exhaled slowly and lowered his gaze briefly before looking back at him again. “You know,” he started quietly. Leon frowned slightly at the strange tone in his voice. “When you glare at me with those eyes, ” Noa took a step forward. “It only makes everything worse.” Leon’s breath caught faintly. Noa laughed softly at himself, though there was frustration hidden beneath it. “It became harder to stay away from you.” The words hit Leon unexpectedly. It's hard enough to make him freeze for half a second. “Wh…what nonsense are you saying now?” Leon muttered, though his voice was a bit shaky. Noa’s eyes stayed fixed on him. “I tried ignoring you after practice.” His jaw tightened slightly. “Then we met in the shower.” Leon’s heart skipped, and he swallowed as his memory flashed back. Noa noticed, but continued. “Then I saw you smiling at Sebastian.” Something dark flickered through his expression. “And I hated it.” Leon’s heartbeat stumbled strangely. Noa noticed his uneasiness immediately. His gaze dropped briefly to Leon’s chest as if checking it out. Then slowly up to his lips. It lingered for seconds before returning to his eyes. “You know what the craziest part is?” Noa murmured. “I don’t even fully understand why I’m acting like this.” Leon swallowed again. The tension inside the tiny stall became suffocating. Noa leaned one hand against the door behind Leon, trapping him there without actually touching him. “But I think you should know this, every time someone gets too close to you,” His voice dropped lower, and rougher, “I get fucking pissed off.” Leon’s breath became uneven again, and that encouraged Noa further. “You smile at Sebastian for a few minutes and suddenly I can’t focus in class. What should I do about that hmm?” “Noa…” “I see him whispering in your ear and I want to drag him away from you.” Leon’s eyes widened slightly. Noa took a step closer again until barely an inch remained between them. “These, your blue eyes” he whispered, staring directly into Leon’s eyes, “the way you look at me now… I want you to keep looking at me like that.” Silence crashed between them again, and it was getting dangerous. Leon’s fists clenched tightly at his sides as he tried to ignore the violent pounding of his heart. “This is ridiculous,” he whispered. “Yeah, and I want to taste your lips.” Leon’s eyes widened as his heart pounded violently. “I wonder if you would allow me to taste your lips, because that's why I'm hesitating. May I taste your pink lips?” Their eyes locked. Leon's fist clenched tighter by his side as his heart thudded loudly in his ears. Noa leaned slowly towards him. Their faces inches away. He lifted his hand to Leon’s face, caressing softly. Leon’s eyes fluttered closed. Suddenly, the restroom door burst open with loud laughter and chattering.Leon took another step, Noa stared at him. The steam drifted between them, softening the fluorescent lights overhead. The shower room felt strangely distant from the rest of the world. Noa still didn't move. Water rolled down his hair and shoulders as he watched Leon approach. "What are you doing?" Noa asked quietly. Leon managed a weak smile."I don't know." Then, in another step the space between them disappeared. Noa could hear Leon's uneven breathing over the steady rush of the shower."You've been avoiding me all day." "Are you sure about that?" “I know that you're, babe” “Do I have a reason to? Leon lowered his gaze. "I..I…” His words got stuck in his throat. Silence settled between them. Then, almost without thinking, Leon reached out. His fingertips lightly brushed a droplet of water from Noa's temple before trailing down to his cheek. The touch was so gentle it almost wasn't there. Noa's breath caught. "Leon..." "I've missed t
He wondered if he already knew but couldn't arrive at a decision. He couldn't look at him as he tried to speak. "Noa...I" His voice cracked. The word reached the tip of his tongue but didn't come out. His eyes became moist. He could almost remember his promise to Leon of their meeting on the weekend before his brother’s injury. He wanted nothing more than to pull Noa into his arms and tell him everything. That he'd let anger blind him. That every act of kindness toward Noa hadn't been accidental. But another way of making up for his mess. The guilt, the regret, and the fear that Noa would hate him for cutting him off unfairly remained. What if Noa believed he wasn't still sincere with him? What if knowing the truth only reopened wounds that had barely healed? Leon's courage to open up vanished. His hopeful expression slowly crumbled. He looked away and said, "I never met anyone by that name." Those words felt like a knife through his own heart. "I don't know
Two days later, Leon jerked awake with a gasp. His heart pounded so hard that for a few seconds he couldn't tell whether he was still dreaming or already awake. "Diamond..." The name slipped from his lips before he could stop it. He sat up slowly, rubbing his face. The dream had been so vivid. The young Diamond had been standing beneath the old oak tree close to flowers. He was smiling at him as if they knew each other well. "You promised we'd meet again." I told him. Then, somehow, Diamond's voice had changed. It became Leon's voice as he promised. Then Leon appeared in the young Diamond’s place before he jerked awake. Noa frowned deeply. He threw the blanket aside and stood. "No... Why would I dream of Diamond sounding like Leon?" His mind replayed every conversation he'd had with Leon over the past few weeks. "You're not alone. I'll wait. You don't have to carry everything yourself." Every sentence echoed almost word for word with things Diam
A faint smile crossed his lips. "Yeah, well, my Dad never got the chance to pay the debts." The smile disappeared. "The debt didn't die with him. It came to me." Leon sat beside him in silence.Noa continued. "My mother was already gone. My sister, was raped and since then she had never been the same." His voice caught. He needed treatment, so there was only me." "So, I quit thinking about what I wanted. I stopped asking for help. I worked." He smiled bitterly. "Thank goodness for the scholarship. Morning...school and hockey. Evening…work, then home. The next day...I did it all again." Leon could barely breathe. "Why didn't you tell me?" Noa laughed quietly. "What would I have said? Hi, Leon.I like you. By the way, dangerous people are threatening my family because of a debt that isn't even mine.” He shook his head. "I didn't want you involved. I didn't want anyone involved. My sister already is.” His voice cracked. Leon grabbed his hand. "Y
he bruises inflicted on Noa last night refused to leave Leon's mind.Even during lectures, he couldn't concentrate. The professor's voice faded into meaningless background noise while the image of Noa's battered face replayed over and over in his head. Who did this? Why won't he tell me? He gripped his pen so tightly his knuckles turned white. Noa smiled, and laughed. He had insisted he was fine. However, Leon now knew that smile hid more than exhaustion. It also hid pain. When the bell finally rang, Leon packed his books without even realizing it. Jenny bumped his shoulder."Earth to Leon." "Hm? You've been staring at the same page for twenty minutes." "Oh..." He forced a smile. Sorry, I wasn't concentrating." "Hmm, you've been worrying about Noa all day, haven't you?" Leon didn't deny it. "I just have this feeling that something isn't right."His voice grew quiet. Practice ended earlier than usual.Coach Finn dismissed everyone with a reminder abo
Leon glared at him. "Serves you right." Noa chuckled weakly. "There you are." "What?" "You smiled." Leon didn't smile back again. His expression remained serious as he cleaned the wound with incredible care. Noa watched him silently. His boyfriend's hands were gentle, almost reverent. It was as though afraid of causing him even the slightest pain. When Leon reached for Noa's sleeve to check another bruise peeking beneath it, Noa instinctively pulled his arm back. "Don't." Leon stopped. "Why?" "I'm okay." "Noa." "It's just a scratch." Leon didn't stop. He slowly rolled up the sleeve anyway. Then, he froze. Dark purple bruises covered Noa's forearm. Some fresh. Some are already turning yellow. There were finger-shaped marks near his wrist. A long scrape ran from his elbow almost to his hand. Leon's breathing caught."Noa…" His voice was barely audible."This..." He looked up, his eyes glistening. "This isn't from bumping into someone." No
The sudden burst of loud voices outside the stall instantly snapped both of them back to reality. The restroom door slammed closed. Students who walked in moved around noisily, laughing and talking over each other. Leon’s eyes flew open fully. At the same time, Noa jerked back slightly. His h

Noa tilted his head slightly, eyes dragging over Leon’s tense expression. “Are you sure about that?" Leon couldn't reply because he knew he was right. His heart had been thudding since he saw him in the shower. He had been trying to control his body from acting up. Water rolled down Leon’s ne
