ANMELDENEZRA'S POV "Do you have a picture of Vlyn?" I asked. "I don't have any on my phone. I misplaced it but I should have some back at the pack house but it is likely to be a drawing. Vlyn was never a big fan of taking pictures. She preferred to have herself drawn instead." She smiled faintly as if relishing her memories. "Anytime you come to Valden, I will find it and show you. Then you can get to know her place as well." She assured me. I bit my lips, thinking about what seemed to be a tempting offer for me. If I never had a chance to go to Valden, this was a perfect opportunity for me to do so. "Right now, I could have made a mistake blurting out that she was your mother. It is not a strange thing that two people can have similar features and not be related at all. So forgive me if my words did increase your emotions in a negative way." She stared at me intensely and I gulped. The thoughts of finding something as close as this in finding my mother made my belly turn.
EZRA'S POVI left for the location Marco had sent me with the help of a map but on getting there, the place had no houses at all. Just shops. I was a bit confused and was about to dial his number again when he pulled up in his car and wound down the window. "Come in." Oh.I blinked for a few seconds, letting the realisation of what was happening to settle on me before I managed to take a step forward. I opened the door and entered. "This place doesn't look like your house."He smiled, "Yeah. About that...I know you said you didn't want me to pick you up but my place is a bit complicated and I just felt it was better I did it this way."I sighed gently and turned my face away. For a moment, I felt like he tricked me. Throughout the journey, I never glanced at him or said a word. I knew Marco still had feelings about me but I never saw him that way and I would never. Seeing as some things wouldn't let us depart from each other fully, I just needed to learn how to manage myself
EZRA'S POV "Will you be less busy tomorrow?" Marco asked me as soon as he turned off the car's engine. Cole opened the door and stepped out, leaving only the both of us. "Not really. I have somewhere to be." I answered while removing my seat belt "And the day after?" He pushed on, resting his upper body on the steering wheel while watching me intently. "I...I will let you know whenever I am less busy to hang out." I replied. "Thank you for tonight. Have a safe ride back."He looked as if he still had more to say but my sudden movement didn't give him a chance. I shut the door, waved briefly and took quick strides to the entrance. I heaved a sigh of relief immediately as the door closed. "I was wondering if you would follow him home." Cole joked and I chuckled. "If he knew you had a mate.. I beg your pardon, mates, maybe he wouldn't be this persistent. The signs...he is the Alpha of Alphas so he should have seen the signs. I just don't get why he is not paying
AUTHOR'S POV "My mother?" Ezra was stunned. He and Cole looked at each other once more. "His mother?" Marco repeated. "Are you sure?" "His face...he has almost the exact face as one of my maids." Vera answered. At this point, attention was already drawing to their state and Marco seemed not to appreciate it. "Maybe we can talk about this later." Marco whispered to his aunt. Then Vera smiled and collected the gift, the aura changing into something more calming. "Thank you so much for the gift. I am sorry. I must have startled you that way. I just thought..." She exhaled and shook her head. "Anyways, let that be. Are you Marco's friend?" Marco beamed. "Ah– yes, I am a friend of his." "I have never seen you before around him and I doubt you are just his friend because you look too gorgeous to be kept as a friend since I know him." Marco's eyes widened due to poor embarrassment. He hit Vera's back lightly. "Alright boys, I'll have to let you all be. I
AUTHOR'S POV. "I really miss you, darling. Sometimes I feel like coming over to Voss City...aww fine, I won't but I can't wait for this to be over so you can come back. I am going crazy over here...hmmm...I love you." Riven groaned and after a few minutes, he hung up the call with unhappiness. He sat with his phone in his hand for a moment, looking at the dark screen as though he would still be able to see Ezra or hear his voice. Then he comforted himself, stood up and went to Dorian's room. "I've got news this morning." He said from the doorway. "I will go get Lucien and Caius." In some minutes, they had quickly gathered round in Riven's room. He insisted on having the meeting there and nowhere else. "Alright. Good morning gentlemen..." "Please go straight to the point. I don't have all the time. I have a meeting with my staff by ten." Lucien butt in, earning him a scornful look from Riven. "Well, what a bad day to be irritated as fuck. I understand this is becau
EZRA'S POV.Marco had found the coffee shop in approximately thirty seconds of looking around the street. I wasn't surprised. We met in Voss City months ago so he definitely knew the land better than I did. I entered the coffee, greeted by its warmth just like it existed in every other place. Cole sat himself at the corner table by the window. His phone was held at an angle that would have convinced no one that he was in any way focused, his eyes moving between the screen and our table at intervals he clearly believed were subtle enough. I had told him he could leave but he insisted he was staying. "I don't want Riven twisting my neck if anything goes wrong!" So here we are. Marco sat across from me with his hands around his cup. He was taking a moment to make sure that what he was going to say was good. I saw the hesitation in his eyes and the nervous smile wasn't doing it in any way at all. "I owe you an apology." He started. "When I came to Caldenmoor, I should have kept
DORIAN'S POV"The Harlow acquisition closes Friday," Caelan said, not looking up from his desk. "I need you in the Geneva office by Thursday morning at the latest.""I'll be there Wednesday night." I flipped to the next page of the report in my hand. "The Aldren contract is the bigger issue right n
LUCIEN'S POVThree weeks. Nothing.I had never been this worked up over something. How did we manage to lose a simple omega? It wasn't even about the fact that our feeding had been strained for a while, it was the fact that something bad could have happened to him. Of all the stupid things he cou
