The quads were focused on finding Dave's mother while a solution to his ailment was secretly being worked upon by Caius and Aldric. Since nobody was yet to know about Dave's existence, I guessed it was just better that he was hidden from the rest of the vampires and the others should be made to take the blame for Dave's wrongdoings. It was Caelen's suggestion in the first place. I have yet to receive a call from Marco ever since I left Valden. I wished I could just tell him that he had no reason to be paranoid. Deeply within me, I felt like this was simply just a misunderstanding. Yes, there was a war. They fought which was understandable but they could as well resolve it. There was no need to prolong issues based on the affairs of the past. I sighed as I wrapped my scarf around my neck and checked myself in the mirror for half a minute. I looked at my room one last time before stepping out.
