AUTHOR'S POVEzra walked out of the mansion and straight into the war. The guards that had been stationed at the entrance had met their doom simply because they tried to stop him. AUTHOR'S POVThe war came to Caldenmoor just the same way Vera had planned it. It was coordinated in such a way that it would have left absolutely no room for defense. She also moved the attack impromptu. The outer districts went first with force from her alliances which involved the werewolves, the halfbreeds and the human factions who had made their choice. They moved in the predawn dark swiftly so much that by the time the first alert reached the central district, the outer blocks were already engaged. The vampires also responded fiercely with the older vampires who could shift into something more of a secondary form with eyes blaring red and fangs sharply out in inhumane speed as they met with their attacks, specifically going after those who had not yet shifted or couldn't. AUTHOR'S POVAlthough Vera did try to keep it a secret, the news still managed to arrive in Caldenmoor adding to the rows of bad news in the land. It was discovered that the werewolves would not be fighting alone. This detail changed everything. The vampires were prepared and might have underestimated her efforts a little by being confident of the triumph that would come after but knowing the alliances Vera had been building turned them off. Several human factions alongside other half breed beings who had their own historical grievances with the vampire authority found a vehicle for them in Vera's plan. Even scattered witch clans who had since maintained careful neutrality for decades decided to show up. The vampires had been preparing for a werewolf conflict, not this.
