Six: Bizzare Attraction

LISA

“Lisa, can you just put the students out of their mysteries and continue dressing the way you did to the car racing game last week?”

I took my sweet time swallowing what was in my mouth and drinking from my boba drink. We were out in Sweet Things, one of the most popular cafes in school and since we got there, students wouldn't stop staring at me.

Just like they've not been able to stop staring at me since that game.

I'd thought slipping back to my normal style would stop them from recognizing me but apparently, all this bagginess wasn't enough to hide the fact that I was the girl that whooped Axel Ivanov’s ass a week ago, and didn't I just enjoy it?

I enjoyed putting Axel in his place, enjoyed seeing that defeated look on his face and I'd have loved it more if I had seen the look on his face when he got to know who I was.

I wanted to see the disbelief and annoyance on knowing that the girl he had treated like a common slut, the girl he had proposed to fuck all night, my lower abdomen tightened at the remembrance of those words, of the whispers against my ear, of the involuntary shiver those words had sent up my spine.

And I hated every bit of it. Both the fact that my body had even given the tiniest bit of reaction to someone like Axel Ivanov and the fact that I was even remembering it right now.

I hated it.

And I blamed it on the fact that it's been long, excruciating, and painfully long since I had a good fuck. Hell, that I had any fuck at all. It's been so long that I couldn't even remember the last time that I felt a man touch my body. I've been cool with my vibrators until now but if my body was showing the tiniest bit of reaction to someone like Axel, then I most definitely needed a man.

As fast as possible.

“Earth to Lisa,” Tana snapped two fingers in my front and it jolted me out of my reverie, “what were you thinking about?”

“Sorry,” I took a sip of my drink, “just thinking about the new programming I just came up with, I need to get back to the hostel real quick and start working on it.”

Tana’s eyes narrowed and she shook her head dramatically, “programming or Programming programming, don't you ever get tired?”

“Party! Party! Party!” I mimicked her tone, “Don't you ever get tired?”

“Why would anyone get tired of partying? It's fun!”

“Exactly! Why would anyone get tired of programming? It's fun.”

“God! Lisa, you're impossible,” she replied and we both chuckled before sipping from our drinks.

“I'm just telling you, Lisa, give the students what they want, they want the girl they saw last week during the race but now, you've slipped back into this nerdy nerdy girl. Girl, you were a total badass back then and I’d give anything to see that version of you again.”

“You’ll it once in a while when I want to unwind.”

Her eyes glistened with mad excitement.

“Talk about unwinding,” she leaned over the table eagerly, “there's a pool party on Friday and it's just the perfect perfect opportunity for you to unwind.”

“Hey sisters.”

We both turned to the voice or rather voices to see two girls smiling at us or rather me.

I groaned underneath my breath, knowing exactly why they were here. Since the game, random girls have been stopping back all over the school to praise me for being such an absolute badass.”

“Hi,” I muttered back, and the smiles on their faces deepened.

“We just wanted to confirm if you were the same girl from the race last week.”

“Yes, she is,” Tana bragged on my behalf and I rolled my eyes to the back of my head.

“Wow! You were such a badass!”

“A total badass!”

“We need more girls to be like you.”

“Daring and bold to challenge men and not take bullshit from them.”

“You were an absolute hottie behind those wheels, God!”

“That image of you was definitely worthy of being ok vogue’s cover.”

They rambled on and on and it was taking all my restraint not to gag their mouths and throw them out of the cafe. Tana on the other hand looked like she was gloating in all their praises.

“Can we please have your autograph?”

I raised an eyebrow, autograph?

But they were already placing two textbooks and a pen in front of me and I looked up to confirm if they really wanted me to sign my autograph on their books.

They were looking at me eagerly.

Wow.

“Go on, sign them,” Tana cheered, “you're now a celebrity.”

And that's all because of you. I thought to myself as I started signing the books. If Tana hadn't forced me to go the race, I wouldn't have been tempted to challenge Axel, then I wouldn't have won the race, then I wouldn't have this new fame in school and most importantly, Axel would never have to discover my identity or even know about my existence.

Not that it was bothering me in any way.

“See you around sister,” the two girls faked a bow before they turned around and they walked out of the cafe.

“Will I have to deal with this for the rest of the year?”

“Yes,” Tana replied me, “and glow in it please, glow in this your newfound fame, do you think it’s easy? You’re on your way to becoming just as popular as Axel Ivanov and I’m here for it.”

“I’m not here for anything, we’re not in secondary school and I’m not interested in dragging a popularity badge with some guy.”

“You won't be dragging anything with anyone, it's just... Think of it as a privilege.”

I started to say something to reply to her but the words died in my throat when I caught sight of someone entering the cafe.

God! Axel was sinfully handsome for his own good. Admitting that or pointing that face out didn't mean or add up to anything, I was just pointing out the truth and no matter how much I hated him and his existence, I just wasn't going to deny that fact.

He entered the cafe with a smile on his face and instead of shutting the door after him, he held it out for the girl coming after him and she smiled flirtatiously at him.

I rolledy my eyes to my skull.

He stepped into the cafeteria and none of the girls there even bothered to hide the fact that they were busy checking him out and trying to flirtatiously smile at him and call out at him and the asshole was just busy smiling and waving at them like a fucking celebrity before making his way to the counter to place his orders.

“Well well well” Tana’s voice brought my attention back to the table, “considering the fact that you trailed off mid-sentence to eye fuck the hell out of Axel, I guess your newfound popularity isn't the only good thing about you going to the race last week.”

Again, I rolled my eyes so much that they touched the back of my head.

“I'd rather eat shit than have sexual thoughts of someone like Axel.”

“Come on, I’d never understand your irrational hatred of him. Even before you met him last week, you've always hated the guy that just at the sight of him, most girls are already dripping.”

“I'm not like most girls and I guess some people are just not likable.”

“Not Axel, there's nothing unlikeable about him, just look at him, man is the real definition of a man with everything in the right proportions. I bet he fucks just as hard as he looks and his manners when it comes to girls, are completely unrivaled.”

If only you know the kind of venom that runs through his veins, the kind of torture his hands have wrecked on people, and the number of lives he had taken without blinking, y’all wouldn’t be so hot about him.

He collected his takeaway nylon and he started to turn back towards the door when his eyes met mine and he paused, his lips pressing into a snicker before walking out.

He only snickered at me but I felt my lower abdomen clench.

Another testament to the fact that I really need a good fuck or even any form of fuck as soon as possible.

I turned back to Tana.

“Tell me more about the pool party.”
