He Shouldn’t Be Here

For the rest of the day, I tried to convince myself I imagined him.

Maybe the sun hit the trees strangely.

Maybe my lack of sleep made me see things.

Maybe the Alpha of the entire Northern Pack did not step out of the forest just to talk to me.

But the more I tried to dismiss it, the more a quiet hum settled in my chest—warm, persistent, alive.

Like something inside me had been awakened.

I was still thinking about it when I reached home.

Our small cottage sat near the village’s edge, close enough to hear the wolves howling on cold nights. My aunt, Mila, sat by the window peeling apples, her brown eyes narrowing the moment she saw my face.

“You look pale,” she said. “Did something happen?”

I swallowed. Lie, Aria. Just lie.

She’d panic if she knew I’d spoken to an Alpha. Humans didn’t survive those kinds of stories.

“I’m fine,” I said instead.

“You’re a terrible liar.” She set the apples aside. “Is someone bothering you?”

I hesitated.

Only the most feared Alpha in the region. No big deal.

“No. I just… didn’t sleep well.”

She eyed me for another long moment, then sighed. “Get some rest. You’ve been wandering too close to the forest lately. Stay away from it, Aria.”

My stomach tightened.

Too late for that.

I nodded and went to my room, shutting the door quietly behind me. I leaned against it, exhaling shakily.

Justin’s voice echoed in my mind.

I won’t let anything happen to you.

Why?

Why me?

I rubbed my arms, trying to shake off the cold creeping under my skin.

A sudden knock at the front door made me jump.

I heard Aunt Mila answer it.

Then silence.

Then her voice, sharp, breathless. “What are you doing here?”

My heart stopped.

No.

No, he wouldn’t.

He couldn’t

Footsteps. Heavy, calm, unhurried. Not my aunt’s.

My door creaked open.

I froze.

Justin filled the doorway, tall and impossibly composed, his gaze sweeping over me like he’d memorized every detail and was checking if anything had changed in the last few hours.

He was here.

In my house.

In the human village.

Inside a place he shouldn’t even be allowed to enter.

My aunt appeared behind him looking absolutely terrified. “Aria,” she whispered, “he says he needs to speak with you.”

Justin didn’t look away from me when he spoke. “Now.”

My breath tangled in my throat. “You can’t just walk into my home.”

“You didn’t answer when I called.”

His tone was calm, but something dangerous flickered beneath it.

“I didn’t hear anything.”

He took one step closer. “Yes, you did.”

A shock rushed through me at his certainty—at the memory of that warm hum inside my chest earlier.

Oh God. I had heard him.

Not with my ears. With something else.

Something I didn’t understand.

My aunt swallowed hard. “Alpha Rowan… please, if she’s done anything—”

“She hasn’t.” His eyes sharpened. “But someone else has.”

Fear prickled down my spine. “What do you mean?”

Justin’s jaw tightened. “Two rogues crossed the southern border last night.”

My aunt gasped.

Rogues were wolves without packs—wild, unpredictable, desperate.

“They were tracking something,”Justin continued. “Something that led them dangerously close to this village.”

My blood went cold. “Tracking what?” Justin  looked at me with a gaze that stripped away every lie I could think of.

“You.”

The world fell silent.

“No,” I whispered, shaking my head. “Why would they why me?”

His voice softened, but it carried a heat that made my pulse stumble.

“You don’t sense it yet. But they do. So do I.”

“Sense what?”

“The bond.”

My knees nearly gave out. “Bond?” I echoed.

Justin  stepped close enough that I could feel the warmth radiating off him.

“Aria,” he said quietly, “you’re tied to me in a way neither of us can ignore.”

I stared at him, breath unsteady.

He lowered his head, his voice brushing my skin like a shiver.

“You’re my mate.”

The room spun.

My aunt let out a small cry, covering her mouth.

I stumbled back. “No I’m human.”

His eyes darkened like storm clouds. “Not fully.”

My heart slammed. “What are you talking about?”

Justin didn’t blink. “Someone has lied to you your whole life.”

He paused.

“And I intend to find out who.”

  • IN LOVE WITH THE HOTTEST ALPHA    Chapter Nine

The Rogue’s ChoiceThe attack came suddenly. One moment the forest was silent, and the next it exploded with sound and movement. Wolves rushed out from the trees, their growls filling the night. My heart pounded so hard it hurt.“Stay behind me,” Justin said sharply.I didn’t argue. I pressed against his back, gripping his shirt as he stood firm like nothing could move him. Then the rogue Alpha appeared. He was taller than the others, his presence heavy and frightening. Scars lined his face, and his red eyes locked onto me with hunger.“There you are,” he said calmly. “I’ve been searching for you.”Justin let out a low growl. “This ends tonight.”The rogue Alpha smiled. “No. Tonight, I take what belongs to me.”Before Kael could say more, the rogues attacked.Everything happened too fast.Justin shifted partly, claws tearing through his skin as he lunged forward. Bones cracked. Bodies flew. He fought like pure power, strong and unstoppable.I tried to stay still, but fear froze me in

  • IN LOVE WITH THE HOTTEST ALPHA    Chapter Eight

Close to DangerThe forest was silent except for the distant rustle of leaves. Every sound made my heart jump. I kept close to Justin , my hand wrapped around his, feeling the warmth of him through the darkness.“I can’t believe this is happening,” I whispered. “All my life I thought I was normal.”“You’re anything but,” Justin said softly. His thumb brushed my hand, sending shivers up my arm. “And now you’re awake. That makes you even more dangerous… and more irresistible.”I blinked. “Dangerous? Irresistible? Justin, what are you saying?”He didn’t answer right away. His eyes, glowing faintly gold in the moonlight, stayed locked on mine. His expression was intense, full of something I didn’t have words for.“You’re mine, Aria,” he said finally, his voice low and steady. “And I don’t care if you don’t understand it yet. I won’t let anyone touch you. Not now. Not ever.”I swallowed hard. I wanted to step back, but I couldn’t. The pull between us was stronger than fear. Stronger than l

  • IN LOVE WITH THE HOTTEST ALPHA    Chapter Seven

The Alpha’s Claim The night air was cool and heavy as Justin led me through the forest. His hand held mine firmly, and every step he took made me feel like he was the only solid thing in the world. When we reached a clearing near his pack grounds, he stopped and turned to face me.“Aria… we need to talk,” he said, his voice low and serious. My stomach knotted. “About what?”Justin ran a hand through his dark hair, frustration flickering in his eyes. “About you. About what’s happening to you.”I swallowed. “I don’t understand. What’s happening?”He stepped closer, his golden eyes intense. “You’re not fully human, Aria. Something in your blood… it’s rare, powerful. And it’s waking.”I took a step back. “I’m not a wolf. I’m not… anything special.”Justin shook his head. “You are. And that makes you a target.”My heart raced. “A target? Who wants me?”His jaw tightened. “Rogue wolves. A rogue Alpha. They’ve sensed your power. They want to use it.”I shivered. “And you… you just claim me?

  • IN LOVE WITH THE HOTTEST ALPHA    Something Wakes Inside Me

The rogue Alpha stepped closer, and everything inside me screamed danger.Justin moved the same second, standing in front of me so fast it felt like the air shifted with him.“Touch her,” Justin said quietly, “and I’ll end you where you stand.”The rogue smiled, but there was nothing friendly about it. “You think you can protect her forever? You can’t even explain what she is.”Justin stiffened. My heart thudded. “What… I am?” I whispered. The rogue’s eyes slid to me, slow and greedy. “You don’t know, do you?”He chuckled darkly. “Of course you don’t. They kept you hidden.”Justin growled. “Shut up.”But I stepped forward before he could pull me back.“What do you mean hidden?” I asked.Justin grabbed my arm gently but firmly. “Aria, don’t listen to him.”But the rogue kept talking, his gaze locked onto me like I was a prize he had waited years to claim.“You’re not human,” he said. “Not fully. Wolves can smell it. It’s faint, but it’s there. Something rare. Something old.”My stoma

  • IN LOVE WITH THE HOTTEST ALPHA    Claimed by Danger

The night outside felt heavy, like the air itself knew something bad was coming.Justin tood in front of me, tense, listening to the distant howl that had frozen my blood.“A rogue Alpha?” I whispered.“Yes,” he said quietly. “And he’s coming for you.”I didn’t know what to do with that. My hands shook. My thoughts were all over the place. A few hours ago, my biggest worry was buying bread at the market. Now an Alpha wanted to take me?“Why would anyone want me?” I asked.Justin turned to me slowly, and the look in his eyes made my stomach flip.“Because you’re important,” he said. “More than you know.”Before I could question him, he stepped closer, lowering his voice.“You can’t stay here, Aria. Your home isn’t safe anymore.”My chest tightened. “But my aunt”“She’ll be protected.” His tone softened. “You’re the one they’re after.”Aunt Mila rushed forward. “Justin, she can’t just leave with you. She doesn’t know anything yet.”He turned to her with a calm that didn’t match the da

  • IN LOVE WITH THE HOTTEST ALPHA    The Moment Everything Changed

The growl outside wasn’t human. It wasn’t even close. It vibrated through the wooden walls, rattling the windows, rumbling deep in my bones like a warning meant only for me.My breath hitched. “Justin”But he was already shifting. Not into wolf form—but into the Alpha. The air around him changed, thickened, sharpened. His shoulders squared, his jaw set, his eyes burned with molten gold. Power rolled off him in waves, invisible but suffocating, washing over me so strongly my knees trembled.“Stay behind me,” he repeated, voice no longer human-soft but Alpha-commanding.“I Justin, I’m scared,” I whispered before I could stop myself. His head turned sharply, eyes locking onto mine. For a moment, everything outside disappeared the growls, the danger, the world. It was just him. And me.His expression softened in a way I’d never seen on any Alpha before—like my fear punched straight through his armor.“You don’t have to be scared,” he said, voice dropping to a low, intimate promise. “Not
