Chapter 54
I remained seated the moment the car came to a full halt. I was still gathering my courage to face Riley. I was hoping he was not able to figure out that the phone belonged to me.
It was like wishing for the impossible.
But who on earth found my phone? Did they go around sniffing bushes?
Maybe. I had no idea how they do security checks, but I was aware that every Alpha takes this seriously, so it was stupid of me to leave it there. Now I have to face this.
I saw Beta Dominic go to the backseat and pick up my bag, then he went to my side and opened the car door. I couldn't delay it any longer.
I stepped out of the car and flashed Riley a smile. His eyes were fixated on me, but not a muscle in his body moved.
"Alpha," Beta Dominic acknowledged his Alpha, but Riley didn't greet him back. I stood in front of him as my eyes darted to the phone in his hand, and my whole world collapsed.
