Jessica watched her brother rise to his full length and head for the door, where he stopped and turned back slightly.
"And one more thing: Emily's not your pawn. If you involve her in any of your stupid games like you did with Loveth and Tope, trust me, your little playdate with Bankole won't be the only thing you'll have to worry about."
"What do you know about Loveth and Tope?" she challenged.
"Oh. Not much." He mocked her with a thoughtful look on his face. "Just that Tope was a scholarship student, Loveth's best friend, albino and Bankole's first love."

A sour feeling in the pit of Isabelle's stomach caused a rotten taste to stick to her tongue as she made her way to Mrs Douglas' office.A few minutes ago, while she was still working up the courage to go and apologize to Joel at his table, a very tall boy, whom, surpringly, was a junior — something she got to know because of his uniform shirt (which was a white shortsleeve) — had walked down to her table to inform her Mrs Douglas wanted to see her.Why she had wanted to apologise to Joel wasn't because she hadn't meant what she had said. Instead, she had felt like she had been rude to him. Her plans, though, had been rendered useless the moment Opeoluwa joined him at his table and that boy came to inform her that her presence was needed.

"Don't you ever get tired of reading?" Emily asked.Isabelle spared her a quick glance to see her stab one of her fried plantains resting on top of the jollof spaghetti she had bought. The aroma of the food was inviting, making Isabelle regret the regular order she had made: a beefy burger, three bags of Cheetos and a Cola (all — except the chips, which she ate slowly — she had consumed within minutes). ¶¶Let's be understood,Not misinterpreted.~ Amberdorn¶¶ Bad boy stories were the worst.A girl, who had been raised and trained well by her parents; a girl who had been taught to be independent and intelligent would meet a damaged boy, who'd make her lose her home training and see her family as the enemy. He'd become possessive over her and she'd allow him to step all over her morals and intelligence while disposing her right to speak for herself and they'll call this love. These were the worse kind of stories and Isabelle hated them the most. Bankole seemed to have grown up watching and reading such stories, which was exactly why he had misunderstood her request and gone public. What he had done hadn't been heroic, instead, loud and unnecessary.Emily should be on her side, instead, her best friend had been touched by the act and said it was more of a reason to date Bankole. Classes had ended for the day and Isabelle hadn't been able to confront Bankole.With soccer tryouts about a week or so away, he was spending most of his time training. Being a member of the paparazzi team had her plugged into every source of information in the school and the news of tryouts was basically what every guy talked about. How Bankole juggled between school and sports was a wonder, but then again, it was possible he barely cared about his academics.She decided she'd either talk to him on phone or probably talk to him tomorrow.
