JERALD

I hurried after Adam, my heart throbbing loudly and aching badly like it was going to shatter at any moment. This wasn't the plan. It was meant to be, go to ..., play the game, make Benjamin jealous and score the goal and not loosing Adam.

“Adam, wait.” I caught him by the hand as he turned, jerking the hand off with a brutal force, almost making me lose my balance. “Look, it's not the way you're saying it.”

He scoffed, “Oh really, well why don't you tell me what it's all about.”

I breathed down heavily. At least he's giving me a listening ear.

“Benjamin and I,” I began. “We had a thing in the past or maybe I thought we did but then he shows up one evening with someone else claiming to be his boyfriend and...and I felt betrayed. I really thought something was really gonna happen between us, but he just ruined it. And everytime, when I try to pretend like it doesn't hurt, he's always there, with his fling, making it hurt the most.”

I paused briefly, stylishly staring at Adam to know if he was flowing with me and truth be told, he was actually. That really made my heart flutter.

“And that was when I decided to leave. I really wanted to clear my head, to make a fresh start. So I came to Seattle and I met you and everything felt nice. I promise Adam, Benjamin and I, we're nothing. I broke up with him before I left. And whatever shit he's got going on, it's none of my business, I don't give a fuck. What I really care about is you and the game but most especially you.”

He chuckled softly, earning a smile from me as I clicked my tongue and wiped my imaginary tears.

“I’m sorry.” He muttered. “I shouldn't have acted the way I did, I guess I got jealous.”

Wait, what! Adam got Jealous. Fuck.

A stupid smile slowly crept onto my lips. “You were jealous?”

He rolled his eyes, but I caught the blush on his face. “It’s not that much of a big deal.”

“Yes, it is.” I blurted. “I mean, you just admitted that you were jealous over me.”

He stared at me for a moment, his gaze soft. “I saw the way you looked at him during the game and thought that maybe you still wanted him.”

My smile flattened, disappearing from my face and now filled with a disappointed look. “I really don't want Benjamin. I just...”

My voice cracked as he stared at me.

“Then why did you use me.”

I stared up at him, my mouth open but no words were coming. It was like as if I couldn't speak for a moment.

“I just wanted to make him jealous.” I whispered softly. “I wanted to make him see that I've moved on.”

“And have you?”

“What?”

“Have you really moved on?”

“Ye...yes...”

He scoffed and moved closer, close enough for his breath to fan against my face. A smirk appearing on his face. “I don't think so.”

“Wh...what?”

“Yes, Jerald. Because from where I'm standing, it doesn't look like you have.”

I stared at him, my hearts loosing it's stamina. And before I could open my mouth to speak, one of the players called on him.

He stepped back, staring at me one last time like as if I was carrying some infection or something. “You really shouldn't have.”

Then he walked out, leaving me to stand on my pain, bearing it alone.

Slowly, hot tears began to fall from my eyes, my knees wobbled and almost gave way to the ground but someone caught me before I could fall.

“You don't look good.”

Sarah!

I turned, pulling her into a hug. I've really missed Sarah. Sarah has been my best bud from day one, always out looking after me and offering the best advice ever. She's my special adviser. And I know I'm definitely in for a long talk today.

“I missed you.” I squealed, pulling out from the hug and before I knew it, she flicked my forehead.

“Ouch!” I winced, “that hurts.”

“Yeah, it should.”

“I’m sorry.” I pouted.

She hissed, folding her arms over her breasts. “Really? You think that's gonna end it? I mean Jerald, you left ... Abs and you didn't call me, you didn't pick my calls, no SOS messages. That was really bad of you, Jerald.”

I knew it.

I breathed out, staring at her with a frown. “I know and I do have a possible explanation.”

“Of course you should.” She said. “But first, who was the guy you were with earlier? And why does it seemed like you were about to cry few minutes ago?”

I sighed heavily, staring down at the grass and battling my lashes so the tears won't fall off.

Sarah understood my problem, then she pulled me into a hug. That was exactly what I needed. And Sarah was definitely the best person I could really rely on right now.

______________

Few hours later, I came out from the bathroom. Just had a good shower and it felt so nice and sweet. I had explained everything to Sarah and of course she didn't support my idea of using Adam to make Benjamin jealous. And speaking of the devil, I was back at the Stilinski mansion. Mom was really happy that I was back but that was after a few smacks on the head and I'm so grateful the house is quiet cause the devil isn't around.

Arghh...the night is gonna be so good and warm.

I tied my robe properly and fell on my bed, my mind slowly drifting off to Adam.

Should I give him a call? Would he answer it?

Maybe Sarah was right. I shouldn't have used him. Adam's nice and kind and sweet and...

The beeping of my phone brought me back to reality.

I sat up, clicking on the message that popped up.

My eyes widened and my heart throbbing loudly as I stared at it.

“Come to my room, now.” ~ Benjamin.

JERALD The minute I stepped into the arena, the screaming and shouting hit me like a water wave. Hundreds of voices echoed across the arena, with chants and loud music blasting from every corner. The cold air burned my lungs as I inhaled sharply, holding my hockey stick tighter.Oh sweet lord.Nothing could have prepared me for a moment like this.It had been a month already since I joined the Seattle Wolves hockey team, and now we're playing the Union match.Players skated around during the warm-ups, waving at the chaotic fans who couldn't stop screaming. My eyes roamed across the ice, and despite the entire chaos going on around me, my eyes found him.Benjamin Stilinski...My ex.My stepbrother. And my biggest mistake. My chest tightened the moment our eyes met, he was skating onto the ice with his team. The new jersey suited him properly, his hair swaying with every movement he made.I tried to look away, but I couldn't, his stare was strong, almost glaring, like he could snap me

  • Icebound Rivalry    A Steamy thought

JERALD The moment I stepped into the Seattle boys' shower room, my sneakers squeaked lightly against the wet floor. The shower room smelled of damp tiles and boys' sweat. Steam curled from the showers, making the air thick.I had just finished the morning training and decided to wash up.Tiny droplets of water fell to the tiled floor, making the silence echo.I was trying to maintain my balance when I noticed him.He stood at the mirror, probably checking himself or something. My breath hitched for a moment. My mind went completely blank. Sharp-edged jawline, dark, messy hair, water running down over every defined muscle, he was the true definition of perfect.I was still drooling over the figure standing a few inches away from me when I stepped on a puddle.I slipped, and my feet flew out. I could feel my heart sinking in shock and embarrassment. But, a strong pair of hands held me, pressing me back.“Whoa,” The man said, voice deep. “Are you okay?”I felt my face heating up, my che

  • Icebound Rivalry    Hating you

JERALD The rink was freezing, not the regular freezing but the kind that makes you grind your teeth and shiver. The kind of freezing that crawled beneath your skin and settled deep in your bones."Again!” Benjamin roared, standing perfectly still like the cold wasn't affecting him.I glared at him from where I was bent over, trying to catch my breath."I just fell.”He snorted, “You’re not the first.”He leaned lazily against the rink wall, hockey stick resting against his shoulder while watching me with that same irritating expression he had been wearing since this week.He stared at me like this was funny to him, like it was entertainment.“Get up, Jerald.”I groaned, “I hate you.”I pushed myself back onto my skates, it was barely six in the morning and my whole body was beginning to ache.“Your balance is terrible.” He said as I skated forward.“Thanks for reminding me.” I said with an eye roll. “This is basically the tenth time you're saying that today.”“That's because it reall

BENJAMIN The puck slammed against my stick with a crack.“Again!” Coach said and the team reset instantly.Skates carved into the ice, cold air burned in my lungs.I pushed off hard, cutting across the rink. Scott came at me from the left, but I shifted and slipped past him.“Too slow,” I muttered and he grinned. “Fix it.”I didn't look back at him again. The puck left my stick and snapped into the net. The sound was satisfying.“Reset.” Coach called. We moved again, drill after drill.I paid attention closely, I needed perfection.Adam skated beside me during a reset, a scowl on his face.“Are you trying to kill us before the season starts?”I didn't look at him, “If you die, you weren't useful anyway.”The doors to the rink creaked open, but I didn't turn. I couldn't lose focus yet.“Again,” I said sharper this time, the team growling.Slowly, I turned to talk to the coach, and then I saw him.Jerald.He stood near the entrance wearing blue jeans and the company hoodie Scott skate

JERALD My stomach flipped again as Benjamin leaned in and pressed his lips on mine.He pressed closer, pulling me in by his hips as he brought his head up. “Did you drink?” I asked, pulling out of the kiss. “You taste like scotch.”Benjamin reached out and put his hand on the back of my neck. “You like it, don't you?” he asked.I smiled before leaning back down, my legs mistakenly touched him, and I felt him, he was already hard.Benjamin groaned against his mouth and used his knee to spread my legs open and buried himself between them.A soft moan escaped my lips as I felt the friction between us the moment he started grinding.“Protection Ben?” I moaned, tilting my head to the side.He paused, and pulled his shirt over his head, and unbuckled his belt.He grinned at me as I removed my pants, lying bare on the bed.Benjamin leaned closer, rubbing his thumb between my legs. “Ready?”I shuddered as he came closer, his breath fanning on my neck. I bit my lip as I waited for Benjamin to
