Marwan was late, again.

He could have blamed it on a host of things or make up excuses or hell, not say a word but as his assistant watched him warily, he knew that it was only a matter of time before his father called him out on his behavior. And that was most definitely not what he wanted on a cold Monday morning.

It had rained the night before and it was still drizzling when he woke up. He hated the raining season.

It wasn't the rain he hated so much as the cold. It was the aftermath after the rain that he abhorred; wet soil, it's smell and the silence after a storm.
