Chapter 2

Alessia's POV

THE sky is dark and it's lightning. It was not announced on television that there was a typhoon coming.

My sister is driving now and we are driving along the length of the Mariana Cliff. My sister said she had to go somewhere before going home so we stopped by here.

I can only look at the vast ocean and flashes of lightning that seem to penetrate the water. I can see outside that the wind is strong. There was no announcement of a thunderstorm, but it might just come suddenly.

But all of a sudden, my sister step the brake and I almost fell over if I wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

"Sister?" I asked her in shock. I saw my sister who was shocked and was looking in front of us.

I couldn't stop looking at what she was looking at and I was just surprised by what I saw there. It is a big bison. It's not just any bison because its body is human-shaped, except for the color of the skin and fur. It looks like a crossbreed of bison and a human being. Is that what they call a minotaur?

"Growl!"

I was just shaken by its howling.

Even if I don't ask, I know it's a demon. I've never seen a bad demon since our parents' death. I seemed to stiffen in my seat. I was only more confused when it suddenly ran towards us.

"Sister, drive!" I screamed and my sister seemed to wake up and she drove fast.

"What is happening?!" my sister asked me in a panic.

"I don't know, Sister." I was nervous and my sister quickly drifted and passed it. But the bison turned around and chased us.

"What is that thing following us?! For Christ's sake, that doesn't look human at all!" sister answered hysterically.

"Demons, Sister...demons," I answered her, but I didn't know if she would believe me.

"Demons? Are you kidding me?"

"Alright, Ate, just the mascot of the Chicago Bulls," I answered her sarcastically and we only sped up the pace.

"It's chasing us!" sister screamed and stepped on the censor even more.

The thunder and wind got stronger. It started raining heavily which made it difficult for us to see ahead. I clung to the chair tightly. Why did this incident reach us here?

Suddenly the ground shook and our car shook even though it was running.

"We're gonna die! You're an omen in my life, Alessia! If we die here, I'll never be able to forgive you!" She shouted at me as she gripped the steering wheel.

I was also in tears because of fear. I can't speak. How can he blame me when I had nothing to do with the events? Did I like it?

I just heard a loud hum and our eyes widened when we saw that the mountain collapsed and the earth rushed towards us.

Before we were hit, my sister turned the car around but I didn't think this would be the end of us. The car hits the cliff barrier and is destroyed. We passed and now our car is falling through the air.

"Oh!" we shouted at the same time and the car met the losing water of the ocean.

The windshield was broken and the leaking water immediately entered. My sister lost consciousness so I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt. I opened the door and struggled with it but I managed to open it.

I swam and I saw the darkness of the water. I went around them to open my sister's car but it was locked. I took the cell phone that was in my pocket and used it to break the glass of my sister's window.

I also broke and opened his door and quickly removed his seatbelt. I pulled my sister to the surface of the water. I see above the light coming from the disappearing sky.

We also reached the surface of the water and my lungs were about to burst from the lack of air. My unconscious sister, I don't know if she is still alive or not, but I held her and didn't let go.

The wave was big and seemed to want to swallow us. I could see the shore so I tried to swim so that we could get there, but just a few seconds after I swam it seemed like something was pulling us.

I turned behind me and saw the gigantic whirlpool in the water-absorbing it. I made my swimming stronger but I couldn't seem to do anything.

Suddenly we were pulled under and the current was strong pulling us. Rampant and seems to consume our bodies. Suddenly, a big tree hit my sister and me, causing me to let go of her.

I screamed but I immediately closed my mouth because the water entered there. I tried to chase my sister but she was getting farther and farther away from me.

I feel like the water is pulling me everywhere until my lungs are about to burst from lack of air. My vision is gradually getting darker. Maybe this is my death, this is where my life will end. I was completely engulfed in darkness.

•••

I feel weak. That's what I feel in my body and I opened my eyes a little.

White sand.

This was my first experience and feeling. Because my eyelids are heavy. My body also has no strength. All I know is that I'm on a beach, face down and seawater hitting my feet.

My throat is very dry. I want to stand up but I can't because I don't have the strength. Is this just a dream or am I still alive? But that thought remained like a dream when I was brought back to the darkness.

My dream seems very long. I just felt a sound that seemed to make an ax.

"Falix, please keep an eye on what I'm cooking and I'll just look at the woman who drifted away," I heard a female voice promise.

I woke up and immediately saw the ceiling made of a thin board. My tatami mat bed, that's what I think but I'm not sure if that's what it's called.

I also smell incensed and herbs. I also feel like I have a bandage on my head because it hurts a bit.

"Lady, wake up," said a female voice that I was looking at.

The girl in front of me looked only a few years older than me. It looks and wears blue like Japanese men's kimono, but it's thinner and not as hot to look at.

"Ugh..." I moaned from the pain in my head again from trying to get up.

The woman quickly approached me with a worried face.

"Don't get up yet, young lady. That will harm you. You have a wound on your head and you need to heal," she told me as she rubbed something on my forehead that I didn't know about.

"W-where am I?" I tried to ask her. I don't know where I am, but based on their speech, we are from the same country.

"You are in the town of Samona, young lady. My brother and I saw you on the beach. It looks like a wave washed you here. Are you from a voyage?" it asked me.

It looks like I drifted but I don't know Samona. I don't know which side of the Philippines that is.

"Where is Samona?" I asked in surprise because I had studied the Philippine archipelago but I didn't know Samona. Maybe it's a small town somewhere in the Philippines.

"You are in the territory of the kingdom of Valeria. Wait, are you from Valeria or another kingdom?" She answered that my head seemed to grow bigger when I heard it.

Kingdom? What kingdom is she talking about?

"Valeria?" I asked her confused.

"The kingdom of Valeria, the largest and most powerful kingdom in all of Wysteria," she answered.

"Wysteria?!" Where is that?

"It looks like you have a bad head injury, young lady because you don't remember anything," she looked at me worriedly and handed me something. "Drink this first. It helps your wound stop bleeding."

I'm afraid to trust her but I don't feel anything bad about her. If her intentions were really bad, she wouldn't have saved me and just let me die.

I accepted it and drank it. It was a bit bitter and didn't taste good but I put up with it because I was a bit used to grandpa by then. She likes to make herbal medicines whenever I get sick or have a wound. She also taught me about medicinal plants so I also know how to make medicine using them.

"Thank you," I replied to her before handing over the small wooden bowl.

"Nothing. I'm Honey by the way. My name comes from the sweet honey made by bees. You, what's your name, young lady?" She asked me and placed the bowl right next to her.

"A-Alessia," I answered her.

"A very beautiful name, just like you...a unique beauty. All right, rest, for now, Alessia. Just call me if you need help. My brother Falix is here, I'll introduce him to you next time," she said and stood up.

"A-alright. Thank you," was my only response to her.

Honey has left me and I'm starting to feel sleepy. I let my body fall asleep.

•••

SOME days I can't stand because I'm working out. Maybe if I was in a hospital I would recover quickly and not as it took me days to get up.

I still can't believe what I discovered. Wysteria is a magical continent located in the Celebes Sea. It is a continent that cannot be seen by the common creature or man.

The people or they call Wysterians living on the continent are immortals. Like the literal immortal, they don't age and die. I was even more surprised when I found out that Honey is a thousand years old, while Falix, her younger brother, is five hundred years old.

They were even surprised when I said that I was only twenty years old, so they thought of me as a child. Young.

What they know is that I have no memory of my past except my name and age. I didn't tell them that I was from another dimension because I didn't know what they would do when they found out.

My wounds are healing. Honey also gave me clothes but she dressed me as a boy. It is a red colored thin cloth. It's long sleeves that look like a kimono but pants style at the bottom, and I think some shoes and boots are halfway up my feet.

"Alessia, you have to dress as a man, because it's dangerous here in Samona and other neighboring towns. They take the beautiful beauties to be used as a court by the high officials of Valeria. You're too young for that. But if they see you as a girl, as long as you're beautiful, they'll ignore your age. So be careful," Honey promised me as she fixed my clothes.

Even my chest was tied with a cloth to make it flat. My breathing is tight and a bit difficult but I will get used to it.

"Honey, my face looks like a woman even though I'm wearing men's clothes," I told her and looked at my reflection in the mirror.

Honey sighed before combing my hair and pinning it with a men's clip that looked like a small bracelet. It looked like a ponytail on my long, straight light blonde hair.

"Yes, you still look like a woman, but that's what immortal children are like. If you're fine, you'll pass as a beautiful teenager. This is also your identification as a man. You also have a woman but hide the woman's," she gave me a piece of wood with a stamp of my name as a boy.

Ales Condor. That will be my male name, while the other is Alessia Andromeda Condor.

"I can't help but be nervous," I told her.

"I know you can't avoid that. But through your identification, they'll know you're young and they'll just pass you by," she answered me.

I took a deep breath because of that. I hid my female identification in my clothes and hung the male one by my side.
