THIRD PERSON

“Do you need help, Miss?” The attendant appeared behind her. “Maybe with picking what you want out.”

Mira snapped out of reverie and turned to the attendant. “No, thanks. Just got lost in thought for a second.” She glanced at her cart. “I think I'll add more stuff.”

The attendant nodded and returned to her desk at the front.

Mira sighed and pushed her cart through the grocery store aisles, grabbing a box of protein bars here, a bag of chips there. She tossed a bottle of whiskey

THIRD PERSON The estate gates swung open and the cars rolled in. Mira followed the jeeps up a long driveway lined with trees, their branches bare and grey against the sky. The main mansion appeared at the end, with white pristine stone and dark windows.Although the stones told otherwise, one could tell the house has been here for decades. Her car stopped behind the jeeps. She killed the engine and climbed out.Two guards approached her before she could take a step toward the door And one of them held up his hand."Arms out," he said.Mira did as she was told. Although this wasn’t her first time here, she knew how stuff like this worked. And the first didn't end exactly well…so double measures.Their boss almost died because of her, there's no caring if she was a woman at the moment. Her career made it possible for her to experience all shades of shady shit. The guard patted her down, quickly, checking her coat pockets, her waist, her ankles, once he was done, he stretched out the l

THIRD PERSON Eva woke to the feeling of rough fabric against her cheek and a dull ache spreading from her stomach to her ribs. The couch cushions were digging into her side, and her neck was stiff from lying in the same position for too long. She blinked her eyes open, the living room coming into focus slowly, the grey morning light filtering through the curtains.Sitting on the floor beside the couch was Chloe, her back against the armrest, her legs stretched out in front of her. She had a blanket draped over her lap and a phone in her hand, and when she saw Eva moving, she set the phone down and leaned forward."Hey. How are you feeling?"Eva tried to sit up but immediately regretted it. Her stomach twisted in pain, she felt like she could pass out from it. She pressed her hand against it, waiting for the pain to pass but it didn't. "Like I got hit by a truck right in my stomach."Chloe helped her sit up, propping pillows behind her back. She glanced at Nico expecting him to help b

Mira sighed and pushed her cart through the grocery store aisles, grabbing a box of protein bars here, a bag of chips there. She tossed a bottle of whiskey into the cart, then a pack of beer, before circling back to grab another whiskey as one wasn't going to be enough for what she was going to do with it.She then proceeded to the toiletries aisle and grabbed toothpaste, shampoo, a new loofah, more shampoo. Then to the clothing section where she grabbed a few dresses and more pairs of jeans without trying them on. Once she was sure she got what she wanted and they were enough she returned to the front desk. Quickly, the cashier rang and packaged

THIRD PERSON The car pulled up to the curb just as Chloe was getting out of her own car. She had one hand on her door, the other clutching her work bag. She was already thinking about what to make for breakfast before Eva returned when she saw a man climbing out of a black sedan. He walked around to the back door and opened it, revealing Eva like a package. She was slumped against the seat, pale and limp, and the man reached in to help her out. Chloe's heart dropped straight to her stomach. She slammed her car door shut and ran across the space to them, her bag bouncing against her hip, her keys jingling in her hand."What happened?!”She pushed the man aside to look at Eva.“What's wrong with her?" She looked at the man. “And who are you?”“Nicholas ma’am.”Chloe nodded absentmindedly as she grabbed Eva's other arm, Nico helped lift her out of the car. “So what happened?”"Food poisoning," Nico said. "She's been treated and only needs rest.""Food poisoning? How is that possible?

THIRD PERSON If she was really one he wouldn’t doubt it.Whoever caught the attention of his boss wasn't sane. Her feet were dirty and her heels were digging into the back of her leg. She was shaking so hard he could see it from the car. He slammed the brakes and climbed out before the vehicle fully stopped, his door still open. His heart was pounding in his chest for reasons that included both her and his dizzy self."Ms. Bishop, are you okay?"She raised her head slowly, and her face slowly morphed from pain to anger. She was livid. And possessed. This could be his end.He subconsciously took a step back, and when he realized he almost laughed at him. Slowly he stepped forward and stretched out his hand to help.Eva slapped his hands away before he could touch her, she tutted and dragged herself to her feet. She wobbled for a second, swaying like she might fall, then steadied herself and continued walking.“Ms Bishop?” Nico followed, keeping a few steps behind, watching her limp,

THIRD PERSON Dante stood at the window after the door clicked shut, watching the gravel path where Eva had disappeared. Her bare feet must have been burning by now, or freezing, he didn't know which, and thinking about it only made him worry the more. She was mad, really mad and trying to stop might get him a dagger in his chest. He turned away from the glass and walked to the drawer in his nightstand, pulling out a thin silver case. He opened it to reveal thin cigarettes and a lighter. He picked one, placed it between his lips and lit it with a flick of his thumb on the lighter.Nico stood near the door, still in his blood-soaked shirt, the cut above his eye was beginning to dry up, the blood near his cheek. He was trying not to move too much, trying not to draw Dante's attention to him, with the realization that he should have cleaned up before coming here, but when the bastard got past the front door and made into the main house, there wasn't time for anything except stopping him,

Doctor Wright handed me a small paper bag filled with pill bottles. Suppressants, he called them. Medications to hold Lily over for at least a week, to give her body a fighting chance while I made a decision.“This isn't a cure,” he said, leaning against his desk. The office was small, cluttered wi

A soft knock came at the door and a second later a nurse appeared with a tray of mashed potatoes, shredded chicken, and a cup of applesauce.“Figured you might be hungry,” she said, setting the tray on the bedside table. “Doctor Wright asked me to bring it over.”I didn't realize I was hungry until

I pushed the apartment door shut and leaned against it for a second, letting the cool wood press against my back. My ribs ached from the movement and so did my head. The conversation with Jace had drained whatever energy the hospital had left me with. From Lily's room, I could hear water running an
