Juliano's POV

A few days passed. No matter how much I wanted things to go back to normal, they didn’t. My sister was still in there, and I was very much aware. She’d hate me for leaving her there for too long, for years. Sophia was so strategic. I blessed the day I sent her there. Who would have known?

I've been spending time in the library, in the silence, to enjoy moments of inner peace. The only difference was that I couldn't focus. Allysia's photo kept replaying in the back of my mind like a recurring nightmare. My skin prickles with unease.

Where is the peace when I found out my sister wasn't dead for the past years? Else, she was somewhere suffering, and I was living freely. I felt the survivor's guilt. It should have happened to me instead. Maybe I could have saved myself.

"Please come back, Allysia; I promise to celebrate all your birthdays I've missed.” I said to myself. She always wanted to celebrate her birthdays with me. I was sure she'd have forgotten what a birthday fe

~Skai Everything in my head was him, as if he had stolen my senses. I was obsessed, and I couldn't save myself. We stared at each other, like our souls were in deep conversations. I got into my room and glided underneath the sheets, and sleep drifted me away. I didn't know how long until I heard a knock on the door. “Come in,” I croaked, coughing. I reached for the glass of water on my nightstand. I gulped, almost selfishly. I calmed down, trying to focus on the itching in my throat. Juliano's face flashed into my head. I just smiled. “What would you like to eat, ma'am?” The maid said, bowing slightly. I looked out of the window. It was late afternoon. "Chicken soup should be fine.” I replied. “Hmm, Beatrice.” I called. She looked back. “I'm Celine, ma'am" I didn't know her name, but out of desperation. “Celine, did Margo set the dining?” “Not yet, Mr Juliano asked me to serve your food inside.” "Can I get painkillers too" "Alright." My cheeks flushed, but I tried to

~Juliano "You'll understand soon” I stood up and pressed a kiss on her forehead. Without saying a word, I turned on my heels and left the room. I didn't know how long I was there, until my phone buzzed. I could stay with her for hours without getting tired. I love watching her fall for my little gestures - the twitches in her eyes, the stolen glances. I need to claim her before anybody does. I walked through the hallway absentmindedly, resisting the urge to scare at my phone screen. The headline echoed in my head more than it should. Either reflex or instinct, something screamed at me not to check my phone until I entered my room. My fingers acted fast - too fast. I swiped up my phone screen, and it was just a message : Let's see who plays this game better. And that was it. No Caller ID. “What game?” I mulled over the word. But I could guess where it came from. The enemies. Our enemies. This time, I promised to be steps ahead. Not one. Not two. I couldn't trust anybody.

~Skai His soft laughter followed me out of the room. I rushed down the hallway, hands on my chest, my heart beating twice as fast as normal or even more. Like a Disney princess that just danced with her royal prince. I smiled to myself, widely, reminiscing about the moments. If it could be a dream I have every night, then I don't mind. I tried to make my expression blank because I knew Allysia would taunt me. She'd ask why I was smiling to myself and what we were doing. I had the answers all perfectly worded. When I entered, Allysia wasn't in my room, and her lights were off. She was asleep. I couldn't be happier. She'd make sure to dig more answers out of me. I slid underneath the sheets, the smile remained on my lips, unwavering until sleep drifted me away. ☆ The second day, Silence continued between me and Juliano. A kind of silence felt when you're about to light a dead candle, taking out the smoke and restoring the flame. We didn't talk about what happened last night. N

~Skai I suppressed the urge to look at his face. My attention fixed on the monitor. I didn't find any suspicious movements. But still, I'd not give up. Juliano sat on his bed, behind me. “We have other cameras in the mansion. The footage you're checking is just for certain areas.” He said carefully, as if he was selecting his words. “I can take you to the security room." He added. “Can we go there now? I need to check.” I glanced back, making sure my gaze landed on his eyes. He didn't reply. He stood up and walked towards me. He sat at the edge of the table. His shirtless image was presented in front of me. I swallowed. Is he doing this intentionally? My eyes lowered to the desk. If I stare too much, I don't know what might happen. “We would sort it out tomorrow,” he said, his tone casual. “Ummm,” I nodded, my fingers playing with the desk. There was nothing to check anymore. He lifted my chin; our gaze locked. “Look at me; I don't bite.” I stared at him; my

~Juliano His voice commanded every head in the room, and we all went silent as if the cat got our tongue. All eyes fixed on Juliano and the mystery behind his action. He didn't say any more words, but his jaw remained locked. The room froze for a beat. As if he wanted the silence to settle, he sat down. He looked awkward, like he wanted to say something but at the same time didn't feel the need to. His eyes scrolled past all faces. “What's wrong?” Allysia asked, her brows furrowed in confusion. Margo went over to her seat; after a few seconds, she smiled. Mr. Bernard's face twitched slightly, like he was enjoying the show. “What's making you upset, Juliano?” He asked, a tone of jest in his voice. Juliano shot him a look and his gaze returned to the food. It was strange, as if planned. I expected Juliano to smile after a while. He didn't. His face softened. I brushed it off with a tight smile and focused on the food. The atmosphere remained tense. Bruno pushed his chair

~Juliano I don't regret a thing. If I had to go through another hard time with Skai, I wouldn't think twice. She went through all those shits, and I wasn't available to help. The attack happened so fast. I didn't know who saved me. But I saw myself in my room - where I feel guarded. Guarded by the four corners and my mother's portrait. I recovered after the first dose of chemicals. I caught a view of Aver; I wasn't sure if it was truly her. Or my subconsciousness. Margo has a solution. I couldn't be happier. I didn't want to tread on the wrong route. “We have to be strategic about it,” Margo said. None of us laughed. She was serious. I just watched, with clear eyes. “I'll go… with two of my men.” Bruno raised a hand, his voice sharp and clear. I didn't doubt him, for unknown reasons. Since Skai trusts him, I do too. “Can you do it? I don't want Skai to return there.” Margo turned to him, a flicker of worry in her eyes. “I don't want to put her at risk too,” Bruno
