The anger from Seth could be seen and heard that when he asked her questions again, particles of his saliva dropped on her face.

Kate closed her eyes eye a few seconds before opening back to meet the same angry gaze from Seth. Good thing, her mom had long been gone, she was in school alone, having no one to bug the shit out of her so she reminded silent.

She would not tell him that their little affair was known by her stepbrother some days back, she would not tell him that she couldn't tell what they were anymore, she would not tell him that she generally would stay silent till he got sick of her and leave by himself.

Well, Seth wasn't having it at all.

"Kate! When I talk to you, you fvcking answer me! Why haven't you been replying to my messages?" He asked almost calmly this time.

It was almost calm because he had reduced his voice but the angry vein could still be seen on his neck. His red face and clenched fist could be seen, making Kate stand still about remaining silent.

With their gaze locked, Seth groaned. It wasn't like he doesn't know about Kate and her silence. He knew that she does that shit to avoid problems but this time, it wasn't working.

"Let me guess, you want to break up. Right?" Seth asked.

Frankly, he doesn't even know what they were at all.

He doesn't even know what was even funny, awkward, and painful about their relationship.

Was it the fact that they weren't even officially 'anything', and Seth realized that he doesn't even have the right to make such a suggestion?!

Was it the fact that he doesn't know how to feel about her? The pain, the sense of belonging, and her annoying silence.

Damn! Things just kept getting worst.

Worst as the only thing Seth could think about their relationship was that they were familiar strangers.

For one year, for a whole year what they did was text themselves, arrange hook-ups, fvck, and have nothing about it after.

"We are just strangers that know ourselves" Seth whispered.

With the look on his face, Kate could no longer tell his emotions. It was like he was in pain but his expression was too calm. Very calm to that of an angry or pained huge man.

Huge in the sense that he was like a giant to Kate.

His bih figure, perfectly covering her small body so that people around would not notice Kate at all standing from angle. His broad shoulders, his back muscles, the veins on his arms, his neck, everything about him seem like they were perfectly sculptured.

Even if Seth was perfectly sculptured, their relationship wasn't.

What could she even think about him?

The fact that he was strange in her almost perfect and innocent life? The fact that he was the only unexpected thing in her controlled life?!

Seth was the only person in her life that had this aura. His techniques were different but she noticed them, there were Small, very small.

Kate couldn't even tell if she wanted to break up with Seth.

Would she?

If she happen to be in another person's shoes, would she break up with him? Would she afford to tell him that she would not want to see him again and hope her left get ironically perfect for her mother even without the woman noticing?

"Can you please go now?" She finally whispered to Seth "We will talk about 'this' later."

The way she said this and watched him walk away made her recall the first day she saw him. At the bar, where she was taken to celebrate a successful win by her seniors.

That night, part of the night she would never forget.

The night where she was intensively watched and was told to rebel against her mother. Even if her mother didn't find out, the fact that she was asked to try alcohol for the very first time in her life scared her. It scared the crap out of her, then, she saw Seth.

His magnificent aura was a strong scent of musk chocolate and fresh wood.

His beautiful hazel-Green eyes shone charming under the dimmed red light of the bar as he walked up to her and smirked.

She still remembered his voice, his smooth bass voice that told her to 'Go on, try it'.

At that moment, she felt like she was energized by his captivating look. His nice jawbone, the sly smirk that remained on her as she took the very first sip of alcohol in her entire life.

She recalled the way he told her that she did great and gave her his number afterward.

Well, how could she forget about his lips, the lips that made her imagine all manner of ungodly and rebellious things? About his eyes, which caught her in their trap that got her thinking about another day she would have the opportunity to look directly and closely into them.

Little did she know that they would get sucked as family strangers, stuck in their own world of confused hormones.

Heading to her dorm exhausted, Kate thought about any possible thing she could do. Maybe take a shower, sleep, and have some sugar later.

She wasn't even sure if she was tired or 'just tired'.

Immediately she got in, she thought about relaxing for a few moments before finalizing what to do when she heard Grace's voice. Grace had always been a loud person and her voice could be heard from her own dorm room.

Grace, her roomie who she wasn't sure she would call a friend. Well, they didn't basically share the same room, they just happen to be opposite each other. They didn't have any issues with each other, just that they don't really talk that much.

They do extremely random things together, like practice ballet, see each other, and even meet at the same dorm but still, they weren't friends.

A small smile spread on Kate's face as she thought about asking Grace what to do. It could be that Grace had better ideas of what to do, or how to be less mistakenly.

"She might be perfect" Kate groaned as she lazily got off bed.

Walking out of her room and close to Grace's side, Kate heard another voice and it wasn't what she would want to hear. The door was closed, but the room around was never soundproof.

Lots of moaning, screaming, and calling of each other names.

"Oh fuck! Fuck me Liam.... harder baby" Grace's voice said.

Although, Kate was tempted to believe that not only one person bares Liam but her mind kept the trick behind. She sneaked closer, making sure not to make a sound them she watched.

At First, Kate didn't want to believe what she heard until she moved closer to listen to the second voice then hell broke loose.

"You like it? You like it this way?" The voice asked with a grunt.

It was obvious he was thrusting, or doing something like that. And with her ears now closed to the door, Kate held her breath.

"Yes Liam, that way! Fvck me that way" Grace cried.

Her heart dropped and all the hope she had about him turned to pain. Why was she so devastated when she didn't tell him how she had always felt about him?

For one day, she didn't tell him that she have a huge crush on him and would want to be his girl.

Broken, Kate ran into her room to the fridge. She ranked it open and took the first can she touched.

'Yes! Yes!! Oh shit! Liam!!!'

Their loud voices didn't even try to be at least modest. Yelling the whole place down as of they were the first persons to have sex.

Before Kate realized it, she had drunk the whole of the drink she was holding. A small smile spread across her face as she remembered that it was the same Alcoholic drink she was asked to try the first day she met Seth.

Lazily, she stood up to take three more cans from the fridge and sat on the floor. Gulping the second bottle and a thought came to her pathetic mind so without thinking, she got her phone and dialed his number.

"Let's meet at a hotel room, I want to be fucked, Seth."

Chapter 49 The afternoon sun streamed through the windows of Kate’s apartment, casting a warm glow over the living room. She sat on the couch, her phone pressed to her ear, listening to her mother’s excited chatter about wedding plans. Her mother’s voice was animated, filled with the kind of enthusiasm that only a parent could muster when discussing their child’s future. But Kate’s mind was elsewhere, her thoughts swirling with uncertainty and a growing sense of unease. “Mom, I’m not ready to get married,” Kate finally interjected, her voice firm but gentle. She twisted a strand of hair around her finger, a nervous habit she had carried since childhood. “I still have so much to figure out. College, my career, this baby… I just don’t think now is the right time.” There was a pause on the other end of the line, and Kate could almost picture her mother’s face—her brows furrowed, her lips pressed into a thin line of disappointment. But when her mother spoke again, her tone was softer, m

Chapter 48Kate lay in bed, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains of Seth’s bedroom. The sheets were warm, the room quiet except for the steady rhythm of Seth’s breathing beside her. She turned her head slightly, watching him as he slept, his face relaxed and peaceful. The events of the previous day replayed in her mind like a vivid dream, each moment etched with emotion and significance. Her thoughts drifted to the meeting with Seth’s father, Edward. It had been a whirlwind of introductions, apologies, and unexpected warmth. Edward had greeted her with a kindness that immediately put her at ease, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. “I’ve been trying to get Seth to bring you home for months,” Edward had said, his voice tinged with amusement. “But he’s been like a goofy kid, always talking about you but never actually introducing you. I was starting to think you were a figment of his imagination.” Kate had laughed at that, the sound light and genuine.

Chapter 47Kate sat in the waiting room of the clinic, her fingers nervously tapping against the armrest of the chair. The test was just a formality, she already knew. The subtle changes in her body, the fatigue, the nausea, it all pointed to one thing. But she needed to see it for herself, to have that confirmation in her hands. When the nurse finally called her name, Kate followed her into the examination room, her heart pounding. The doctor was kind, her smile reassuring as she handed Kate the results. “Congratulations,” the doctor said warmly. “You’re pregnant.” Kate stared at the paper, her vision blurring with tears. It was real. She was going to be a mother. Later, as she sat in her car, Kate took a deep breath and dialed her mother’s number. The phone rang twice before her mom picked it up. “Kate?” her mother’s voice was hesitant, almost apologetic. “Mom,” Kate began, her voice trembling. “I… I need to talk to you.” There was a pause, and then her mother said sof

Chapter 46The theater was alive with energy, the air thick with anticipation as the finalists took their places backstage. Kate stood in the wings, her heart pounding in her chest. The stage lights glowed brightly, casting long shadows across the polished floor. She could hear the murmurs of the audience, the rustle of programs, and the occasional burst of applause. This was it. The moment she had worked for, sacrificed for, and dreamed of. Her fingers trembled as she adjusted the straps of her costume, the delicate fabric shimmering under the dim backstage lights. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, and let the music of her routine play in her mind. This wasn’t just about winning anymore. This was about proving to herself that she could rise above the expectations, the pressure, and the noise. “You’ve got this,” a voice whispered beside her. Kate turned to see one of the stagehands, a young woman with a kind smile, giving her an encouraging nod. Kate nodded back, her

Seth had taken her to a quiet, upscale restaurant on the outskirts of the city. The ambiance was warm, the lighting dim but cozy, with a soft hum of classical music playing in the background. Their table was near a window, giving them a view of the city lights shimmering in the distance. Kate played with her napkin, trying to suppress the nervous energy bubbling inside her. Public dates weren’t their thing. At least, not until now. Seth, ever composed, reached for his glass of wine, taking a slow sip before meeting her gaze. “You’re quiet,” he noted. Kate glanced at him, picking at her food. “I was just wondering…” She hesitated before finally asking, “Why now? Why are we suddenly out in the open like this?” Seth leaned back in his chair, exhaling. “Because I don’t want to hide anymore.” Kate raised an eyebrow. “You didn’t mind hiding before.” “I did.” His voice was soft but firm. “I just didn’t realize how much until recently.” Kate set down her fork, tilting her head s
