Chapter Seventy Six

Julian’s POV

For a heartbeat, my brain refused to register what I was seeing.

The man standing in the doorway looked like a distorted memory, older, leaner, shadows carved deep into his face. His hair was darker than I remembered, streaked with silver, but those eyes… those eyes hadn’t changed.

“Hello, Julian,” he said, his voice low but clear.

Aria froze beside me. I could feel the tension rippling off her, like she knew she was standing in the middle of something monumental but didn’t yet know the shape of it.

My grip on her chin had slipped when the door opened, but now my hand found hers instinctively, holding it tighter than I should have. “You’re supposed to be dead,” I said.

The man’s mouth curved into something that wasn’t quite a smile. “And you were supposed to be smarter.”

Aria’s eyes darted between us, confusion darkening to something sharper, suspicion. “Who is he?” she asked, her tone steady, though her fingers twitched slightly in mine.

Chapter Eighty SixAria’s POV“Step away from her,” Julian said, voice low but razor sharp. The man’s smirk only deepened, and he leaned casually against the doorframe as if he owned the building. “Still possessive, I see. Some things never change.”The air between them crackled, not just tension, but a history I wasn’t privy to. The kind that comes with scars no one talks about.Julian moved half a step in front of me, his stance protective, predatory. “You’ve got three seconds to say what you came for, then you’re gone.”The man ignored him and spoke directly to me. “Do you know who I am?”Something in Julian’s tone when he snapped, Don’t answer that, made my pulse jump.“No,” I admitted, my voice steady even though my heart was pounding so loud I could feel it in my throat. “But you clearly know me.”“Oh, I know you more than you realize,” he said, his eyes darkening as they swept over me with unsettling precision. “Julian’s been keeping secrets… hasn’t he?”Julian’s jaw clenched.

  • In Lust with my Sexy Boss   When the Ground Shifts

Chapter Eighty FiveAria’s POVThe room felt colder than it should have, like the walls themselves were holding their breath. Julian stood by the window, his back to me, hands braced on the frame as if it were the only thing keeping him steady.“You’ve been somewhere else all night,” I said quietly. “And not the good kind of ‘somewhere.’”He didn’t move, but I caught the slight drop of his shoulders, a crack in that perfect composure.“I’m fine,” he said.I hated how flat it sounded. I hated even more that I knew it was a lie.“You’ve told me a hundred times not to hide things from you,” I reminded him, crossing the room. “So don’t you dare start doing it to me.”He turned halfway, his profile lit by the dim city glow outside. “Some things aren’t meant to be shared, Aria.”I laughed under my breath, though it wasn’t amused. “You mean some things you don’t want me to share in. There’s a difference.”That got his attention. His head shifted fully toward me, eyes catching mine with the

  • In Lust with my Sexy Boss   The Ghost at the Door

Chapter Eighty FourAria’s POVI didn’t have to turn around to know who it was. That voice, smooth, poisonous, threaded with amusement, was a shard from my past I’d tried to bury so deep I thought it had rotted away.Slowly, I pivoted, my pulse slamming against my temples. She leaned against the doorframe like she owned the room. Her tailored suit clung to her like it had been stitched over bare skin, her lipstick a perfect crimson slash across a sly smile.Celeste.My chest tightened. The woman who’d been my shadow and my competition in more ways than one. The woman I’d thought was gone.Julian’s fingers lingered against my jaw for half a second more before he stepped back, his entire posture shifting into the cold, commanding presence he used like armor. “Celeste.”Her smile widened, but her eyes, those sharp, calculating eyes, didn’t leave mine. “Still keeping your… acquisitions close, I see.” She flicked her gaze down at me like I was an object she’d appraised and dismissed in the

  • In Lust with my Sexy Boss   Through the Crosshairs

Chapter Eighty ThreeAria’s POVThe sound split the night like lightning.Julian’s hand shot out, pressing me down toward the seat. “Stay low!” His voice was rough, commanding, like it left no space for argument. The next shot shattered the side mirror. Glass rained against my arm, tiny, biting shards that pricked my skin. My breath came fast, shallow. I could smell the sharp tang of gunpowder mixing with the leather and cologne in the car.He didn’t flinch. Didn’t slow. One hand on the wheel, the other pulling something from under his jacket, another gun. The faint light caught the steel, gleaming with a promise of violence.“They’re boxed in,” he muttered. I couldn’t tell if he was talking to me or himself.I risked a glance over the dashboard, catching the blur of headlights closing in behind us. A dark SUV loomed in the mirror, its engine roaring like it was hungry for us.Julian caught my chin, turning my face to his. Even with the world spinning outside, he looked steady, danger

  • In Lust with my Sexy Boss   Run Until You Can’t

Chapter Eighty TwoAria’s POVThe elevator doors slid open with a chime that felt almost too cheerful for the weight in my chest. Julian’s grip on my hand was firm, his pace brisk enough to make my heels click in protest against the marble floor. He didn’t speak until the elevator began its descent. “Don’t look back,” he said. “Not at her. Not at anyone.”My heart was still hammering from Celeste’s words, from the way she’d looked at me like she already knew the ending to a story I hadn’t even read yet. “Julian… is she telling the truth?”His jaw flexed, but his gaze stayed forward, eyes on the glowing numbers above the doors. “I don’t know yet. But I’m not about to wait around for confirmation.”The doors opened, and the cool night air of the underground garage rushed in. Julian moved faster now, steering me toward his black Maserati. His free hand hovered near the small of my back, not pushing, not pulling, just a warm, steady presence that sent a shiver straight through me despite

  • In Lust with my Sexy Boss   Interrupted Heat

Chapter Eighty OneAria’s POVThat voice.I knew it instantly, the way a song from childhood comes back in perfect clarity.“Julian? Are you in there?”My stomach tightened. It wasn’t just familiarity, it was history, the kind you don’t forget no matter how hard you try. My eyes darted to Julian’s, searching for his reaction, but his jaw was already hardening, his shoulders squaring like a man bracing for impact. He didn’t move back. He didn’t release me. If anything, his hand came to rest on the edge of the desk beside me, caging me in.“Stay,” he murmured, almost a command, his gaze locking on mine. The gravel in his voice made it sound like a promise and a threat all at once. The door cracked open, and there she was, Celeste. Every inch of her was polished, from the sleek black dress to the perfect red lips. Her eyes flicked over me before landing on Julian, a smirk curling.“Well,” she said, her tone laced with amusement. “I hope I’m not interrupting.”The heat in my cheeks threat
