Caia Lilith Herald suffered tormenting abuse in her own father's hand, making her grow up weak and timid. She even had no wolf to begin with. Even her seven-year long fiancé never came to see her once that she started to believe how useless and unloved she was. However, one day, her fiance, Darkus Loiu Dark- the blood-lust alpha feared by everyone, just came to abduct her, saying it's about time he claim what should have been his. "I know you despise me so much that you kept refusing to marry a rogue man like me, Caia. But I won't let any other man have you. I own you. I patiently waited for seven years just to have you. And I think, it's about time I make you completely mine." What?! She refused him?! When did she refuse him? When all these years, she had been waiting for him like a fool, waiting until he came to save her from this misery. But now, it's even her fault?! What's happening?! This book is a sequel of my first book "The Unwanted Luna Goddess". It revolves around the story of Ruan and Kaliyah's son, Prince Darkus Loui Dark.

"Move, you traitorous bitch!" The whip came down before I could brace for it. The teeth caught me across both shoulders and tore. I heard myself yelp — sharp and ugly, not the sound of a queen, not the sound of anything dignified — and my knees buckled. The chains yanked at my wrists as I pitched forward and caught myself before I hit the ground. "I said move!" The second lash landed on the same spot as the first. I moved. One foot. Then the other. The cobblestones were cold through the thin soles of my slippers — they took my boots, took everything that could have given me any dignity in this — and I walked because walking was the only weapon I had left. The whip came down a third time and I felt the skin part and the warmth of blood spreading across my back and I kept my chin up and I walked. The crowd lining the path had gone completely silent. I could feel their eyes. Hundreds of them, wolves and humans packed shoulder to shoulder, and not one of them made a sound as the guard behind me screamed another obscenity and the whip sang through the air and found my back again. A woman near the front had both hands pressed over her mouth. A man three rows deep had turned his face away entirely. They all smelled of guilt. I hated them for it. The whip landed again. This time the serrated teeth caught a spot already open and I stumbled hard, one knee scraping stone before I shoved myself upright. The chains swung and the iron bit into my wrists and the guard grabbed a fistful of my hair and wrenched my head back. "You fall again and I'll drag you the rest of the way. Understand?" I said nothing. He shoved me forward. I walked. By the time the execution ground opened up ahead of me I had stopped counting the lashes. My back was wet and the cold air hit every open stripe like a blade and I breathed through it, slow and even, because I was not going to arrive at my own execution on my knees. Then I saw him. Valerius stood on the platform like he'd been born on it. Relaxed. Patient. Dressed in deep ceremonial red with the Alpha King's seal pressed into the brooch at his chest, holding a scroll in both hands with the particular calm of a man who had written the ending to this story a long time ago and was simply reading it aloud now. He didn't even look at me when I was brought through the gates. That was deliberate. I knew his cruelties well enough by now to recognize the ones that were designed. Lady Yuna stood to his left. And in her arms was Lucian. My son was wearing the blue coat. The one I'd stayed up three nights finishing, sewing tiny wolves along the collar one by one because he loved animals and I wanted him to have something that was entirely mine, made by my hands, just for him. He was looking around at the crowd with the wide, distracted curiosity of a child at an event he didn't understand yet. His eyes moved from face to face, taking everything in, occasionally glancing up at Yuna for reassurance and finding it. He didn't know. He had no idea what was happening and something about that cracked through every wall I'd built in the three months since I'd understood I was going to die here. I stared at him. His small face, the gap in his front teeth, the way his hair curled at the back of his neck. I stared until my eyes burned because this was the last time. This was the last time I would ever see him and I was going to memorize every single detail. Lucian's eyes found mine across the square. He knew my face. Even now. Even after months of careful distance and Yuna's careful management, his whole face changed when he saw me. Opened up. Then his gaze dropped to the chains on my wrists and the confusion moved across his features slowly, the way confusion moves across a child who doesn't yet have the words for what he's seeing. I held his gaze and I did not look away. Valerius cleared his throat and unrolled the scroll. "Soraya of House Caldenmere, Luna Queen of Kethara—" His voice rang across the square, clear and measured and completely without feeling, the way he spoke when he wanted a room to understand that the matter was already settled. "—you stand before this court charged with conspiracy to assassinate your Alpha King. With treason against the Blood Compact. With the deliberate poisoning of the royal blood line and the corruption of pack loyalty through forbidden bond manipulation." Every word was a lie. I knew every lie by its exact shape because I had spent three months inside a cell picking them apart, turning them over, finding every seam and every weakness, writing the truth in my head over and over because they had taken my writing materials and I had nothing else to do with the rage. He read for a long time. I stopped listening. I watched Lucian instead. He had stopped looking around at the crowd. He was watching me now, and the confusion on his face was sharpening into something that looked more like fear, and Yuna leaned down and whispered something in his ear and he pressed closer to her without looking away from me. "—and it is therefore the judgment of this court and the authority of the Alpha King of Kethara that the sentence carried out this morning be the highest punishment available under pack law." Valerius rolled the scroll closed. "Death by execution." The square went so quiet I could hear the torch flames. The executioner stepped forward from the right side of the platform. A broad, anonymous man. Doing a job. The block was already in position. The guards on either side of me gripped my arms and started moving me forward and I went because there was nothing left to do but go, and then the crowd erupted. Not everywhere. One point. One direction. A voice I knew. "Valerius!" I turned. Castiel was coming through the crowd like a battering ram, both arms moving, throwing bodies aside, his face doing something I had never seen on it in the six days I'd spent pretending not to have felt the mate bond that connected me to him at the Threshold. He was screaming Valerius's name and the crowd was scattering in front of him and he was not going to make it. I knew it the moment I saw him. The distance was too far, the guards between him and the platform too many, and Valerius had already lifted his hand. Castiel's eyes found mine. Something broke open in my chest. The tears came before I could stop them — hot and sudden, pouring down my face while I stood in chains with a torn and bleeding back in front of five hundred witnesses and I did not care, I did not care about any of it, because he was here and he had come and it was too late and I needed him to stop, I needed him to turn around and live— He was still screaming. Still running. "VALERIUS—" Valerius lowered his hand, his lips stretching into a wicked grin. I turned to find Lucian one last time. His small face in the crowd, the blue coat, the wolves I'd sewn along the collar. I opened my mouth. *Lu—* The blade fell. The pain was nothing like I expected. It was everything at once — a single catastrophic second of white hot agony from my neck down through my entire body — and then my body was gone. Just gone. I couldn't feel my hands or my feet or the chains or the cold or any of it. The ground came up fast. My cheek hit the cobblestones and the impact barely registered. I was already fading. The square tilted sideways and I could see maybe three feet of stone in front of me and the boots of the crowd pulling back and the blood spreading dark and wide beneath me. Then Castiel dropped to his knees in front of me. Both knees hitting stone hard. His hands reaching across the ground toward my face. His mouth was open, screaming something I couldn't hear anymore because the sound had left the world, and his face— I had never seen his face like that. Not in six days at the Threshold. Not once. The darkness came fast, swallowing the world in an instant. The edges of everything blurred and collapsed inward, fading into an endless void. His hand reached for me, desperate and trembling, but it never quite made it. It was already too late. As the last traces of light slipped away, a single thought echoed through my mind. Remember me… Then the darkness closed over me completely, and there was nothing left.Unlike the beauty she saw upon entering the Dorumn Estate, the palace was more in a dire condition that she expected. She once heard that this was the fallen kingdom’s old imperial palace. It had been three decades since then. However, she was in disbelief with the condition this palace was left with. “Did it disappoint you?” she heard Dark asking from behind. “I…I…” she looked at him and her cheeks flushed with guilt. Seeing this, he chuckled as he scanned the poorly lit interior. “I should ask forgiveness for the poor place. But there were no one to properly manage the mansion. Besides, most of my people are all knight. As you can see.” Caia looked at the servants who was bowing before them. There were less than ten of them. Two for the kitchen. Two who manages chores outside the palace. One accountant. One manager. And three maids. No wonder this place seemed haunted. With just these small number of people to take care of it, they won’t be enough to manage it! Caia sighe
“S-Sorry…” Caia’s voice was small and weak. However, it was evident in her expression how apologetic she was. Dark covered his eyes and turned his back, unable to endure seeing her like this anymore. “It’s not really your fault.” It’s that bastard’s fault! Theodore Marwick! “N-No! It’s really my fault. I shouldn’t have… have touched him…” Eyes filled with fiery emotions, Dark turned around and met her eyes. He seemed troubled. Almost in pain as he stared at her. Even the door of the carriage he’s gripping seemed like it sill break any second from now. “Do you… really want to touch it that much?” he asked, looking at her side. Yet, his face was red and his ears were even redder! Caia’s eyes widened in downgrading embarrassment! This is too much! What does he even think her of?! “What?!” she gasped, unable to defend herself due to due to shock. He even continued, “If you’re really that curiou
“You useless daughter! You needed to be tamed!” “You’re a bad daughter! Punishment is the only thing that will make you obey!” “Useless wench! How dare you anger me!” Caia firmly closed her eyes. Her body was a statue as she held her breath. She angered Dark and of course, she must be punished. She deserved it. She waited for his hand slapping her hard across her face. Or a whip striking her flesh. However, instead, she was touched by a gentle caress in her cheek, as Dark’s other hand supported her back. He’s kissing her! Opening her eyes in surprise, their eyes met for a brief of moment. His gaze squinted. Although a fire seemed to be ignited in those seducing eyes. Dark kissed her harder. It was rough and forceful. And he went deeper and deeper, making his tongue swirl inside her mouth. Caia flinched with this too daring move, her eyes quivering while her heart rammed against the wall of
“What?! You’re scared of thunders?” Augustus looked troubled for some reason after Caia told him that the reason why Dark slept with her was due to the storm. Last night, it was raging a storm along with loud thunders and lightning. She was trembling so hard that time but Dark assured her that he won’t leave her. He even hugged her and patted her back until she fell asleep. Remember what happened before that, her cheeks burned like fire. Dark kissed her last night too! “You should eat more. You’re so skinny.” Dark placed a chunk of meat in her plate… for the tenth time. Now, her plate was already so full. It was a mountain of food already that some meat balls even rolled down off her plate. To her surprise, Dark saw it and replaced it with a new one again. “Eat,” he told her, staring at her intently. Is he planning to watch her unless she eat everything he placed on her plate? “O-Oh. Thank you,” she sa
“Is this your room?” she asked in a tiny voice, scanning the surroundings. It was small and cramped. Even the furniture seemed old already. “Yours, too,” he replied, catching her off guard. Does this mean they’re going to share one room?! Of course, they’re going
The two were introduced as Amadeo and Augustus Brooks. They were twins who were so identical to each other that there is no way to tell who the other was. Amadeo was Dark’s gamma. And Augustus as the delta. They were blonde twins, with a signature charming smile. And if ther
