Chapter Twenty-two

Enzo

Rain had defied me again. She disobeyed me.

And I fucking hated being disobeyed.

How many times would it take for her to understand that? How many times would she have to be reminded that my words weren’t open for discussion? They weren’t requests. They weren’t suggestions. They were commands. And when I gave a command, she had no choice but to obey.

She needed to be taught, not just told. She needed to be punished, not just warned. She needed to be shown her place, not just reminded of it.

Because of her, I got stabbed.

And that bastard—Blade. If this had been a real fight, man to man, without Rain’s safety at stake, I would have shown him exactly what I’d been waiting years to do. I would have ripped his eyes from their sockets and left him as blind as I was. Then, I would have killed him the same way he killed my father.

A blind man. That’s what he called me. That despicable, arrogant fool thought blindness made me weak. He had no idea. I may not see like he

  • In The Arms Of The Blind Don   Seeing Eyes

Chapter Eighty-sixEnzoI still couldn’t believe it. It felt unreal—like a dream I wasn’t ready to wake up from. That I could hold Rain in my arms, not just breathe in the scent of her hair, but actually see it. That I could look at the strands of her long, flowing hair as they fell in smooth waves and stopped just above her waist. It was no longer a memory I clung to in the dark—it was here, in front of me, alive and vivid. That I could not only inhale the familiar scent of her clothes, that soft jasmine and something unique scent of hers, but now see the exact shade of the fabric hugging her skin, the way the light clung to it. It felt like witnessing color for the first time. It felt like stepping into a new world. What overwhelmed me most was her eyes. I couldn’t just guess their direction anymore or rely on instinct to know when she was looking at me. I could see her eyes now, the warm, deep, a color I’d only dreamed about and I could see the way they twitched slightly when they

  • In The Arms Of The Blind Don   A Miracle

Chapter Eighty-sixEnzoWas this a dream? Or was this how heaven had chosen to play with me today? Was all of this just my imagination, something my mind had conjured because I had wanted it so badly? Because one thing I had longed for more than anything else in this world was to see again.I kept my eyes shut, tightly, almost like forcing them open too quickly would shatter the miracle that had just touched me. But the truth was, I didn’t even believe in miracles. Not really. I had never been that man. I never thought things could just happen without a force behind it, an external, human force. Something logical. Something real. But if this was real… if I had truly seen that flash of light a few moments ago, then maybe everything I believed in was about to change.Maybe miracles did exist. Maybe they had just skipped over me for too long, and I stopped believing because I had never been chosen. But what if… what if I had just been chosen now? With my fingers curled into the sheets an

  • In The Arms Of The Blind Don   A Miracle?

Chapter Eight-fiveEnzoIt was that time of the year again. It was the one night where the world’s strongest men, the kings of the shadows, the capos of different cartels and ground, the wolves in tailored suits, came together under one roof. Whether you were an enemy or an ally, it didn’t matter that night. That night, there’d be no grudges, no vendettas, no blood spilled on the floor—just silence, power, and presence. For that single evening, we were all one. We were the same.It was the gathering of the underworld. They called it the Syndicate Ball.It was always a night wrapped in mystery, spoken of only in code. Where fortunes were discussed over glasses of century-old wine. Where wars were postponed for a dance. Where vengeance were paused for a drink. Where the deadliest men alive smiled politely and shook hands with the ones they would one day bury. Whether you meant it or not, that night, you had to have a smile masked on your face.It was a tradition. It was a show of unity

  • In The Arms Of The Blind Don   The Invitation

Chapter Eighty-fourEnzoI still couldn’t believe it.I couldn’t believe that the innocent woman I married, the one whose breath used to tremble just from the sound of my voice, the one who nearly passed out the first time she stepped into my inner room and discovered who I really was—was the same woman who pulled the trigger tonight. The same woman who shot my enemy without flinching. Without hesitation. Without mercy.I still remembered how carefully she used to walk beside me back then, like the very ground she was working on was shifting beneath her feet. How she moved with cautious reverence, as though every step was being watched. After she found out who I truly was, I could sense the fear. I could sense her restraint. If she had gotten the chance, I knew she would have asked me to walk away from it all, to stop, to choose a different path. But that same woman, the same fragile Rain had held up a gun tonight and shot Andrew. Andrew, the man she once loved. The man she had confes

  • In The Arms Of The Blind Don   Love & Strength

Chapter Eighty-threeRain My hands were shaking uncontrollably, even as I clung to Enzo like he was the only anchor in a world that had turned into quicksand beneath my feet. My entire body trembled with a violent force, a storm brewing from the inside out, threatening to sweep me away, to drown me in the weight of what I had just done.I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know where to turn or what to feel. My mind was spinning in chaotic circles, unable to process the gravity of what had just happened. It felt like a terrible dream—no, a nightmare. One of those horrifying kinds you fight to wake up from, only to realize the pain is real. The scene played again and again in my mind like a twisted film on repeat: the sound of the gunshot, the recoil that threw me off balance, the sheer force that knocked me backward and down to the floor. And then—Andrew’s face. The anguish. The shock. The slow collapse of his body as the bullet pierced through his chest and he crumpled to the ground,

  • In The Arms Of The Blind Don   Saving Him

Chapter Eighty-twoEnzoA punch landed right on my face, followed by another, and another, until I could taste my own blood in my mouth. The thick, metallic taste burning down my throat like betrayal. My head spun. My balance was gone. I staggered, disoriented, and tried to swing back, but I hit nothing but air.I hated this.God, I hated this.I didn’t know this place. I didn’t know how to navigate my ways through this space. I couldn’t see anything. Just shadows in my head and pain in my body. If I could see, if I could even get one glimpse, one sneak into this space, I would’ve mapped out every step, every corner, every face. But right now? I was just drowning in a place I didn’t understand, with enemies I couldn’t even look in the eye.Another kick hit my ribs. I doubled over, clutching my side, gasping, feeling the weight of a boot against the back of my neck slam me to the ground.Hell, this was frustrating and painful at the same time, it was one of the times I was most helple
