40 - It's Her, It's Him

The next few days seemed to go by like a blur, there was just a flurry of activity around the apartment. Derek made sure that both of his parents were going to be at the party, and I was growing increasingly nervous about meeting them. 

I had never even seen pictures of them, he didn’t have any around. 

Before I knew it, Saturday afternoon was here and we were back at his grandfather’s mansion getting dressed. Marcus was absolutely in his element and I was just along for the ride, doing everything he told me.

The window of Derek’s bedroom overlooked the side of the property, where they were setting everything up. There were round tables each with seating for eight. There was a stage for a band and a large dance floor was set in the grass. 

There were icicle and fairy looking lights strung all over the place, with white flowers literally everywhere.
