Chapter 6

Elle went up to her room after she dropped her phone with her mum, she took her bath and changed into something more comfortable.

She jumped into her bed, wrapped herself up with a blanket and quickly brought out the book and started reading.

Thousands of years ago, the earth was one. The sky was still radiant and beautiful, the sun didn't hurt the bodies of the creatures rather it caressed them beautifully.

Humans and other creatures coexisted beautifully, a human child could easily touch the fangs of a vampire and nothing would happen, there was no blood lust, no thirst for power, everything was peaceful untill the greed of humans set in.

"Hey Ruri!! Look here, I can finally fly" A tiny cute fairy boy boasted to his friend while beautifully showcasing his wings

"Yes yes I can see your rainbow coloured wings Aiden" Ruri said while pouting, she doesn't have wings and she hates that

"Aww.. is little Ruri sad cause she doesn't have wings?" He teased her as he flew aaround her

"Quit teasing her Aiden, she's from a special specie that's why she doesn't have wings" Amanda said as she came out from nowhere with a stick in her hand.

"Hey Manda" Ruri and Aiden greeted the new girl and Aiden flew down and sat beside them

"congrats Aiden on finally learning how to fly and Ruri I've told you to stop feeling down cause you don't have wings. You've got something better than wings and you know it" Amanda said trying to cheer both of her friends up

"Hey! It's not better than wings" Aiden protested and the girls chuckled.

"sorry for the wrong choice of words Aiden, they are not better than wing, they are as good as wings" Amanda corrected herself, a small smile gracing her face

"Damn human, you're good at this" Mamock praised as she came out from the place she was hiding. She's a teenager just like all of them, but her specie made her look taller and older and on that too she didn't have normal hair, she basically has leaves and branches as hair.

"What can I say, I'm human and cheering up is my ability" Amanda replied her and they all started laughing.

"By the way where is Rus?? Is he still goofing around looking for rats to eat?" Mamock asked while looking around for the wild werewolf boy.

"Watch it Tree!! I don't look for rats." Rus shouted as he came out with a rat in his hand

"That's not what your hands say" Aiden teased him and they all started laughing at him

He raised the rat up and smiled "you mean this?? It's actually for you" he said and started chasing them all around with it.

They looked very happy playing together, so happy and peaceful that if someone ever told them that in a few days from now they'll not be as happy, they would have cursed the person.

"Hey when does the training selection start?" Amanda asked them when they were all getting ready to go back to their homes

"Next tomorrow, make sure to come watch us on the training field" Rus said to Amanda

"Sure, I'll be training too after all" Amanda replied and they all bid each other goodbye.

Life before the separation was really beautiful, it would have continued as a beautiful world but the greed of humans destroyed it...

"Elle, come down and eat your lunch. Your dad is back too" Anna called out to her daughter, who has locked herself in the room since she came back from the library. She herself has been apprehensive ever since she came back, she has been turning on and turning off the news channel too wondering if she went to the police station.

"No mum I'm not hungry, tell Dad I said welcome" Elle replied back from her room, not wanting to leave her room nor the book she's reading.

"Get yourself down here now young lady!" Anthony called out to her, she rolled her eyes and stood up from the bed

"Fine, I'm coming" she grumbled as she came out from her room. "Hi dad, hi mum" she greeted the both of them

"Is that how you greet?" Anthony asked while glaring at his daughter who was acting up, he definitely isn't ready to deal with the teenage nonsense

"Sorry Dad. Good afternoon parents" she greeted with a little bow and they all laughed.

"Why didn't you want to leave your room? You plotting something? Digging a hole?" Anna asked while looking at her suspiciously

"No mum, I'm just engrossed in the book i brought back from the library" she replied nonchalantly as she ate her food, Anthony's eyes widened with anger and he slammed his hand on the dinning table.

Anna and Elle looked up in fear "she left this house? Despite the orders I gave Anna? What if she went to the police?" He questioned them angrily

"But she didn't so calm down" Anna tried to reason with him

"Calm down? Did you say calm down? What if.." he started shouting again

"But I didn't Dad, the what ifs and buts you are thinking of right now didn't happen. So calm down" Elle said while looking straight into her father's eyes, Anthony calmed down when he saw the look in her eyes

"By the way dad, you work from home so which work did you go outside to complete?" she asked and watched her parents stare at each other wide eyed and she scoffed "you want me to be your perfect daughter who follows all your orders with no question and secrets right?? The try being the same way too" she said as she stood up and left the dining room.

Her parents always wanted to know her every move and she has kept to that, but they should try being the same way too.They want her to be open and perfect while they are the complete opposite, she barely knows what her parents are doing and in as much as she tries to ignore it; it's there.

The gap between them as a family is there, and the only reason they all turn a blind eye to it is cause of their imperfections that they don't want to confront.  Her father's anger issues and need  feel in control and, her mother's need for everything to be perfect and the want to please her husband.

She's the one that always felt the brunt of it, she ran into her room and slammed the door. She laid on her bed, staring blankly at the wall tears rolling down her face,.

She stood there in the middle of nowhere, when she felt something trickle down on her face. She touched it and it was blood, she quickly looked up at the direction the liquid fell from and a dead body laid on top of a tree and it's blood was trickling down.

She quickly screamed and ran away, she had no idea where she was running to but she ran. She ran so blindly that she didn't notice the stream right in front of her and she fell in. She struggled to stand up and when she finally did she was coated in red. The river was filled with corpses and their blood had turned the river into a deep shade of red

She let out an ear piercing scream and immediately ran out of the river and continued running, but the more she ran the worse it became. She saw dead bodies after dead bodies, the earth dried their blood till it couldn't no more and their blood just flowed on the ground

With each step she took she got more scared and everything got more horrifying, she thought she was going to pass out when she saw the little girl again, staring at her with bloodshot eyes and this time both of them mouthed "help"

Elle quickly woke up with a gasp and sweat all over her body, she quickly touched her face and when she felt nothing apart from sweat she heaved a sign of relief "slept to escape a nightmare just to meet another nightmare" she muttered as she curled up in her blanket.

But her eyes met the book she left on her table and she realized something, she quickly stood up and grabbed it. She opened up to the page that described the children's feature and she immediately dropped the book in shock.

"You've got to be kidding me" she muttered as she stared at the page she opened, the little girl in her dreams fit so perfectly with Amanda's description.
