The mated wolves spared one last glance at their women and children before they stepped into formation. Younger, single wolves had already left for the Dragons mountain in the first wave of warriors, and Zade waited impatiently for everyone to say their goodbyes before they started on their trek. The fire mountains were at least a three-day journey on foot, two if they all phased, but the Alpha had forbidden it. They needed to turn up for April and Todd's retrieval mission having conserved as much energy as possible. Not all of the pack was thrilled with the decision to attack the dragons, and it was with unusual empathy that Zade had left those pack members behind to protect the women and children.
