I was putting on my lipstick when the door opened and I saw from the mirror, the person that stepped in.

"I told you I didn't need help."

"I never mentioned you did." Kurt said and stepped closer to me, hands thrusted into his pockets. "You're taking longer than expected."

"None of your business." I spun round to face him. Without saying a word, I slowly tucked my lipstick and powder back into my bag.

An awful twenty seconds of silence swept by before I spoke up. "Diana, the girl you told me about. She's here." I raised my gaze to meet his.

"I know. It's not rare to meet one or two past acquaintances at a party."

When I didn't reply, he continued. "Tell me you're shitting me right now, Laurel."

"What?"

"You're jealous, aren't you?" His face was void of any emotion but his voice held amusement. "I never thought there would come a day when you'd have to be so possessive of me."

"Who's possessive of you? Who me?" I said and faked a laugh.
