10 ~ Bickering like old friends

(Raya POV)

"...why don't you just hire a surrogate? I might even consider being a candidate if the pay is good." Just a few minutes ago, I was sobbing, feeling humiliated instead of grateful for the pity job offer. I know he means well, but my pride is stinging, and I can't help feeling this way.
