Saying she was nervous would be an understatement. It had been her dream ever since she was young to be on Cheryl Gardens' show and now her dream was coming to life. She was on a rollercoaster of different emotions; she was nervous, worried, ecstatic and excited all at the same time. She could not believe that she was about to sit on the chair where many of her favourite artists sat. She would pinch herself every now and then to make sure that she was not dreaming. Who could blame her anyway? She was living the life she had always wanted to live ever since she knew how to sing.
"Miss Devlin, five minutes and you'll be on air." Somebody came to her room backstage and told her. She was too lost in her own world to even hear the girl knocking on her door.
"Coming," she said happily, taking one last look at her reflection in the mirror and followed the girl who led her to the stage. With every step she took, her heartbeats accelerated. She looked around her in awe, amazed by her surroundings. She looked at the walls of the hallway and saw different pictures of Cheryl with celebrities who came to her show.
"Hello, Aubrey." Aubrey wanted to jump up and down like a little girl who just received her dream toy. Cheryl Gardens herself was welcoming her on her show.
"Hey, Cheryl," she said with a lot of excitement in her voice. She did not even bother to hide her eagerness. She just wanted to live the moment and enjoy every single detail about it. She wanted to remember the different kinds of emotions she went through. Those emotions did not start appearing on the same day of being on the show; in fact, they started when she first received the e-mail, asking her if she would like to be on the show. She thought she was hallucinating on receiving the e-mail that she had to read it ten times to make sure it was not a scam. She even made her best friend read it three times. Once they made sure that it was all real, she jumped on the couch as she screamed, not believing that she managed to make it that big in a short period of time.
"Heard that you're a fan of mine," Cheryl told her with a smile as she led her to the seats.
"Oh, I am! I have been watching your show ever since I was eleven and now I'm almost twenty-three," she exclaimed happily, earning a chuckle from Cheryl. Aubrey eyed the black leather chair where she was supposed to sit; it was like a throne to her. She spent many years dreaming about that moment and she was finally able to make her dream come true.
"I'm also a big fan of yours; your songs are quite awesome. I can't wait for the album," Cheryl expressed her liking of Aubrey. Aubrey was a hundred per cent sure that this was her lucky day.
"You're on air in one minute!" a voice announced through the microphone, making Aubrey straighten her mint green dress.
"Ready?" Cheryl asked her and she nodded.
"Five... Four... Three... Two... One on-air!" the voice declared. Aubrey's heart was still racing and her stomach was in knots, but she did not want her anxiety to ruin what she has always wished for, so she did her best to keep it all together in front of the camera.
"Hello everybody, I hope you're having a great day," Cheryl started talking with a cheery voice, "Today, our guest is a new star who is quickly climbing the stairs of fame. Her four singles made it to the top of the charts within days of their release. Everybody, welcome Aubrey Devlin!" People started cheering once she told the audience to welcome her and the camera moved from Cheryl to Aubrey and showed her face that had a big smile on it; a genuine smile.
Aubrey's make-up was very simple, complimenting her soft and beautiful features. She was blessed with a skin tone most girls would die for; her skin was perfectly and naturally tanned. Her blue eyes would immediately shine more than they already did with a minimal amount of make-up. At Cheryl's show, her eyes were enough to captivate anyone with the simple looking eye make-up which consisted of nude coloured eye-shadow, a little bit of mascara and a thin line of eyeliner. Her face did not need to be contoured since she already had a thin nose and a sharp beautiful jaw-line that any guy would consider kissable. Her lips had a soft shade of pink lipstick on them that she used most of the time.
Her mid-length, flowing mint green dress looked like it was made just for her to wear and for her perfect curves to compliment the style of the dress. Even the nude heels she chose for the dress were simple, but they made the dress look elegant.
"So Aubrey, tell us about yourself," Cheryl said, looking at Aubrey.
"Well... My name is Aubrey Grace Devlin, I was born in Florida then I moved to Louisiana with my parents at the age of five, because my dad got a job there. At eighteen, I started posting covers on Youtube and I decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue my dream career," she introduced herself in a soft, yet confident tone.
"You have always lived by the beach," Cheryl pointed out and Aubrey nodded, agreeing with her.
"You can say I'm a beach girl," she said, gleefully. It was true, Aubrey was a beach girl and she could not imagine her life away from the beach; the place she considered her escapism whenever she would feel sad or stressed out. She grew a habit of talking to the sea, considering it her best friend that held her secrets as it buried them in its depth. She loved the smell of the ocean as it tickled her nose. She loved the feeling of the sand between her toes. She loved the sun as it kissed her skin and made her eyes look brighter.
"When did you find out that you could sing?" Cheryl asked the new star before her.
"When I was four, I would walk around our house singing any song my ears would catch and my mum took a liking in filming me. I would even sing some of the lyrics incorrectly. My parents were really supportive of me and they'd sign me in different local competitions and even at school I'd participate in signing competitions. You can say that I have had it in me ever since I was a little girl." Her voice held nothing but happiness. She knew that she was making her way to the path she had always wanted to take. She was ready to tackle any obstacle that would stand in her way of achieving her dream. She was a fighter and she was not planning on backing down.
"Tell me Aubrey, who are your favourite singers?" Cheryl asked her, she already knew a part of the answer, but she wanted to hear it from the girl herself. She had a big surprise for her that Aubrey would have never guessed on her own.
"I love a lot of people like Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Rita Ora, Ariana Grande and a lot of other people," she answered her; however, her answer did not include the name of the person Cheryl wanted to hear.
"What about Jordan Hill?" Cheryl asked with a smirk on her face.
"Oh my God, he is my favourite," she said, giggling and blushing a little bit. Jordan Hill had been her celebrity crush ever since she was seventeen, but she did not tell anyone before. She would just refer to him as her favourite singer and actor. She was the shy kind who would choose not to mention the name of her celebrity crush on the screen, so she would not feel embarrassed if she happened to meet him one day.
"How long has he been your favourite?" Cheryl wondered although she knew the answer beforehand; her team did their research well.
"Ever since I was seventeen. You can't deny that the guy is an amazing singer and an excellent actor," Aubrey praised Jordan as usual.
"You seem like a big fan of him," Cheryl concluded, earning an eager nod from Aubrey.
"Yes! A huge fan," she replied to her, grinning.
"What would you do if you ever saw him?" Cheryl asked Aubrey. At that time, Jordan walked from backstage and ushered for everyone to stay quiet, so he would be able to surprise Aubrey, his huge fan. He was pretty excited to see her too. He did surprise his fans more than once, but he has never surprised a fan who happened to be a celebrity.
"I don't know," she whined with a little chuckle. "This is something indescribable, you can't just expect your actions when you meet your favourite celebrity. Like if I met him at an award show, I'd have to keep it cool," she continued talking.
"What if you met him on a TV show?" Cheryl asked, smirking. Aubrey looked at her in confusion and was about to say something, but Jordan tapped her shoulder making the girl jump a little and look behind her. When she saw him, her eyes went wide and she clasped her hand over her mouth to silence a scream that threatened to escape as she hopped off her seat.
"Oh my God! This is unbelievable," she said, laughing a little as tears formed in her eyes. Jordan was in love with her reaction. It was not something new to him, but he knew quite well that she was not faking it in any way. She knew nothing about the surprise, so he was sure that her reaction was genuine. He wrapped his arms around the petite blue-eyed-girl in front of him and she hugged him back.
"You're even more beautiful in person," he admired her beauty, he was not complimenting her, he was stating a fact. Jordan was known as the flirt in Hollywood, but he was not an asshole; just a cheeky flirt who knew how to swipe a girl off of her feet.
"Thank you so much," she thanked him, smiling widely as they pulled back from the hug and sat down. She sat normally on the recliner while Jordan sat on its armrest.
"I hope you liked your surprise," Cheryl told her, smiling.
"I loved it!" Aubrey exclaimed with a little giggle.
For the rest of the show, Aubrey and Jordan kept on chatting with Cheryl answering her questions and they even performed a song together. Aubrey considered that night her lucky night. She met her celebrity crush and performed a song with him. She was going to tick two things off of her wish list once she returned home.
"I really enjoyed your company tonight. We should hang out sometimes if you don't mind," he suggested as they both walked backstage. She could not believe her ears. Did he really say that?
"Yeah, sure. I'd love that," she agreed, beaming a little.
"Tell you what? I'm very hungry and there is this new place I'm dying to try, would you like to accompany me? I don't like eating on my own," he offered, hoping that she would agree and his wish would come true.
"Let me just bring my clutch and we can go," she said and went quickly to bring it. She felt like her soul was dancing. She was bummed when she could not go to prom with her high school crush, but it was like fate was giving her a better chance. There was no comparison between the two situations, but her ecstatic mind managed to bring them together, adding more to her happiness.
"Let's go," she told him delightedly and walked with him to his car. She already drove to Cheryl's show, but Jordan was kind enough to offer to have his driver take her car back to her home and she gladly agreed, not seeing any problem with that.
"Tell me about yourself," Jordan told Aubrey after the waitress took their order."I'm bad at this," she said, scrunching her nose with a little giggle. "Maybe we can play twenty questions?" she tilted her head to the side as she made the suggestion.
"You actually met him, right? Can you believe that?" Maria hollered once Aubrey walked inside their shared apartment, making her laugh. "Did you know anything about that?" "No, if I did, I wouldn't have talked about him the way I did in the interview. I'd have been too shy," Aubrey answered as she sat down on the dark grey couch. Maria threw herself beside her, ready for some girls' gossip. "You won't let me sleep
Around noon, Jordan went to his parents' house because he needed to see his sister. He was planning on using her to try to get closer to Aubrey. He was not completely sure about his actions as he failed to understand himself; he did not know what made him so drawn to a girl he met once. He was aware that Aubrey was a huge fan of him, but he did not want to use that card. He did not want the celebrity version of him to take control; he wanted her to get to know the real Jordan, not the one she was used to seeing on the screens.
Normally, people love waking up peacefully, but when you have a best friend like Maria, you could say good-bye to that wish. When Maria saw Aubrey's phone ringing, she looked at it and jumped on the bed to wake Aubrey. Aubrey and Maria's friendship was so strong that none of them minded the other snooping in the other's phone. Maria and Aubrey slept in Aubrey's room the night before as they kept talking for so long while they were watching a movie and Maria was too lazy to go to her own room.
Aubrey was sitting on the couch in the living room, watching TV and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate. It was Saturday and she had nothing to do, so she decided to have a lazy day by herself. Maria was out, since she had a photo session, leaving the apartment for Aubrey. An hour ago, Jessica messaged Aubrey asking her if she was free the next day to have dinner at the Hill's place. Since Aubrey had nothing to do, she agreed. All of that was still a b
It's been a week since Aubrey's visit to the Hills family. Aubrey and Jordan grew close to each other as the days passed which was something they both liked; however, they didn't like to announce it. They would text each other all day long and they even went out a couple of times. Aubrey did her best to deny the fact that she started to feel something towards him. Unlike her, Jordan was not in denial, his whole family knew he had feelings for her, but he was doing his best to conceal whatever feeling that made its way to his heart. He always said that he was waiting for the right time to tell her, yet he never knew which time was the right one.
After a week of talking to Jason, Jordan decided to make the move and ask Aubrey out. Although he waited for a week after his talk with Jason, he found out that waiting was no use; it only increased his worries and fears of rejection. Jason spent a lot of time thinking about the best way to ask her out. He kept taking notes of what she liked and what she hated, so he'd give her the perfect date. He really wanted to impress her. Jordan picked up his phone to cal
An hour passed on what happened in the live interview and Aubrey was nowhere to be found. Everybody saw what happened and they tried to reach her, but she did not return home and her phone was off. Maria tried to call her once the interview was over, but Aubrey did not turn her phone on after the interview. Even Jessica tried to reach her, but she failed. When Jordan saw the interview, all the air left his lungs. He was sure th
