There was a resounding sound in the distance, a roaring so loud it could wake the dead. A chilling draft came along with it and a dash of tanginess.

Alice opened her eyes. A body of water greeted her.

It was a bay. With a dazzling blue flow, a slight silvery-green undertone given by the risen sun. The giant boulder slopes that caved it in were nicked in the middle by a gentle shore. The white foam of the waves rolled steadily on the water’s surface before tumbling on the sand and sinking into its diamond mesh.

Last night she wondered what was behind those curtains, now she knew. But they were closed last night, and tied, was Callum in this room? Did he open them? Was he watching her sleep?

She looked around the room, it was huge. Before now, she was too blistered with pain to even fathom the luxury that surrounded her. But what she knew was that this place and everything in it was just too ridiculous. A CIA agent does not make that much to supply all of this.
