~Fiona~

Work at the royal palace was always a hell of a lot of fun when there was gossip flying around. Except, of course, when the gossip was about you.

“Fi, I’m not even kidding. You should have heard those girls," Stella said, her eyes wide as we prepped lunch for the young masters.

"They were calling you a shameless slut, saying you were practically throwing yourself at him last night.” she added.

Stella, my only real friend in this massive, cold palace, spoke with her eyes wide as saucers.

We were standing in the kitchen, chopping up vegetables and prepping lunch for the young masters.

"Ella," I warned, dropping my knife. "You better not have been the one feeding the rumors."

"I swear to God, Fi, my lips were locked about the breakup! It was those bitches from the Blue Villa spreading it around. That’s all anyone’s been talking about since morning."

I let out a heavy sigh, folding my arms. "And what did you do to defend me, since you're my best friend?"

"Don't you trust me?" Ella asked, offended. "You know I have the biggest mouth in the pack. I completely shut them down. They literally walked away crying."

I laughed, shaking my head. "Sure, sure. Miss Drama Queen. Knowing you, you probably made it ten times worse."

"Hey, at least you know me," she smirked, nudging my shoulder.

"Ahem. Mmmh... mhmm." A sharp, nasty throat-clearing sound cut through the air right behind us.

"I seriously do not know why the head butler paired you two together. All you ever do is slack around and waste the young master's time."

It was the old hag, Housemistress Valerey. She stood there with her arms crossed, spitting her words.

Stella and I quickly grabbed our knives, pretending to be incredibly busy with the food, just waiting for her to shoo away with her usual scornful face.

But she didn't move an inch, her heavy black stiletto heels stayed planted on the stone floor.

"Fiona. Your presence is needed at the grand palace. Immediately," she said, her voice dropping into something cold.

"Me?" I froze, turning my head slowly to look at her, then back to Stella.

"What the hell did you do?" Stella whispered, her voice tight with sudden fear. "That entire section is completely off-limits to low-rank wolves like us."

"Ye... yes, ma'am. What did I do, Housemistress Valerey?" I asked, my palms instantly growing sweaty.

"How on earth would I know?" the old woman sneered, turning on her heel.

"Goodness, every single time you always find a way to involve yourself with the high-ranking royals in that palace." She muttered curses under her breath as she walked away down the hall.

I swallowed hard, the lump in my throat feeling like broken glass.

"Fi?" Stella grabbed my arms tightly, her eyes filled with panic. "Is there something I should know right now? Tell me so we can start plotting your escape plan."

I shook my head, my brain scrambling for answers. "I haven't caused any trouble recently... I mean, except for yesterday when I almost smashed a crystal ornament over Natasha's head. But that was it.." I stumbled over my own thoughts, the puzzle pieces refusing to fit.

"Is that really enough reason to be summoned directly to the Alpha King's mansion?" I asked, looking at her for some kind of hope.

"I don't know," she whispered, wrapping her arms around me in a tight, protective hug. "But please, just scream or raise an alarm so I know when to come running for you."

She let go, and I started walking.

Every single step I took toward the grand palace felt ten times heavier than the last, my heart racing faster than normal.

The Grand Palace… or as the rest of the pack called it, the Alpha King’s Mansion was a place where low-ranks like me barely even got the chance to smell the entrance.

It was the heart of the pack, the fortress where all major pack business was handled, and completely off-limits to ordinary wolves.

The only reason I ever set foot near it was because of Rico.

In fact, his entire cheating drama had gone down right there yesterday, which was the absolute last time I had stepped foot on the territory.

So why the hell was I being called back?

What did I do?

It took me ten minutes of agonizing walking all over the large estate to arrive at the massive silver doors. They were towering, intricate, and carried the ancient wolf carving.

The guards stationed at the entrance didn't even try to block me. They just glanced at me and let me pass, our usual unspoken routine.

They probably assumed I was just sneaking back in to meet Rico for another chance.

The moment I stepped inside the grand foyer, I was met with a glare from an old woman. She looked and carried herself exactly like Housemistress Valerey, just with a different face.

"Fiona Brook?" she asked, her voice sharp and stern.

I nodded quickly. "Yes, ma'am."

God, she knew my full name.

Why wouldn't she?

I was so dead.

"Come with me," she commanded, turning on her heel.

We walked deeper into the estate, moving through massive, winding halls that looked like they belonged in a museum.

I've never been to this side.. it looked more enchanting than Rico's side. It made his wing look like a guest house.

We took a private elevator up several floors, and then walked up another grand flight of stairs.

With every single step we took, a cold, intoxicating scent began to grow stronger and stronger.

My body went completely rigid.

A sudden, tight tingling sensation rippled straight down my spine.

The scent was somewhat familiar, but my panicked brain couldn't process why.

I was itching to ask the woman what my actual offense was, but she hadn't given me anything other than heavy sighs and dramatic eye rolls every time I opened my mouth.

Finally, she stopped at the end of a long, secluded hallway.

I squinted, my eyes landing on a massive, heavy oak door at the very end of the corridor.

"The Alpha King is waiting for you," she whispered, turning right back toward the stairs.

The Alpha King?

My heart dropped into the absolute pit of my stomach.

~Fiona~What response do you give to a terrifying man who just saw you walking away from his son's quarters? You know you owe him absolutely no explanation. But the mere, cold look in his eyes is already threatening to kill you a million times over."I-I can... explain, Your Majesty..." I forced the words out as he crowded my face, his massive frame blotting out the light. The air in my lungs turned to ice, suffocating me.He didn't say anything, just slowly roamed his eyes all over me, taking in my disheveled state.I couldn't tell if the look on his face was disgust, hate, or pure, boiling anger. But I didn't like it.It made my skin crawl with a dangerous heat."I... I actually thought you sent me here. I didn't know..." I stumbled on my words, none of it making any sense to my own ears."You think this is a joke?" He finally spoke, his deep voice vibrating right through my bones. "I let you off my sight for a second and you go back to him, isn't it?""Yes. I mean, no!" I forced my

~Fiona~ "Let go... Ri...co," I choked out, my voice strained. "You're squeezing me too hard." He didn't listen. Instead, he pressed his hardened frame completely into my back, his hot breath burning my skin. "No. I will not," he muttered, his voice dropping into a dangerously low tone against my neck. "I know this little attitude of yours. You act like you don't crave me. Like you don't want this..." A sick wave of dread washed over me as he deliberately rubbed his hardness against my backside.. a demanding pressure that made me want to shrink. "Why are you doing this?" he murmured, his grip tightening around my pinned wrists."Hmm? Stop being a brat and apologize, baby. C'mon. Tell me how much you miss this." I stayed silent. My heart was racing so bad I could feel the pulse thudding against the wall. He was pinning me too tightly, his massive weight making it impossible to draw a full breath. I closed my eyes, hot tears threatening to spill over my lashes. "Ple..

~Fiona~Getting past the long series of questioning at the gates had been an incredibly difficult task. I didn't know when the security here had become so strict, and for a few terrifying minutes, I truly thought they were going to turn me away. But luckily, I was able to slip past them, blend in with the other maids, and serve a few guests until I finally made my way over to his table. The moment he looked at me and spoke that single word… ‘leave’... it did something to me that I couldn't even begin to explain. The harsh, deep vibration of his voice traveled straight down my spine, making my knees go weak beneath my apron. It was too bad that I didn't get to stay near him for long."Fiona?" Someone called out from behind me just as I was heading back toward the kitchen corridor to grab a fresh refill of champagne."Yeah?" My brows furrowed together as I turned around, realizing it was one of the royal security guards dressed in a sharp black suit."He... wants to see you," the gua

  • Is It Wrong That I Want Alpha Daddy?   Chapter 09: Prey

~Richard~Patience was the only way a predator could ever truly consume its prey. And right now, with a dark, suffocating satisfaction humming in my veins, I was watching mine.Fiona was moving through the crowded banquet hall, serving drinks to men who didn't deserve to look at her, trying her absolute best to pretend I didn't exist. She thought she was being clever by keeping her head down, but she had no idea that my eyes were glued to her skin, tracking the beat of her pulse from across the room.I had personally crossed her name off the serving list to punish her, to make her starve for me the way I was starving for her, yet she had crawled back into my den anyway. It felt sick, how good it felt to see her again. My beautiful pink flower. She had walked right back into the trap she built for herself.I was going to ruin her for making me wait these four agonizing days, but for now, I wanted to watch her sweat. I wanted her to feel my stare burning into her back until she could

  • Is It Wrong That I Want Alpha Daddy?   Chapter 08: An Itch Beneath My Skin

~Fiona~Have you ever been addicted to something before?I have. Not to alcohol or drugs, but to the things I cannot have. The more impossible they are to reach, the deeper the sickness goes. It’s always been that way… an itch beneath my skin that claws at me, refusing to quiet down until I take what I want.It has been exactly four days, six hours, and twelve minutes since my encounter with the Alpha King. He has managed to rot every clean corner of my mind. Whether I am staring at the ceiling in the dark, painting until my fingers bleed to distract myself, or drifting into another dream, the memory of him gently patting my head refuses to leave. It followed me into every waking moment. It wasn't my fault I misunderstood what he wanted that day. At first, I had only been terrified of him. But now? Every breath I take feels heavy with him. The faint scent of his tobacco clings to the back of my throat, lingering so sharply it feels like he is standing right behind me, breathin

  • Is It Wrong That I Want Alpha Daddy?   Chapter 07: Not Ever!

~Fiona~The silence that stretched between us was a living, crushing thing against my chest. The only sound left in the entire room was the pounding of my own heart, echoing so loudly that I was certain he could hear it too. I still couldn’t bring myself to lift my head, keeping my eyes fixed firmly on the floorboards, but I didn't actually need to look up to know what he was doing. I could feel his stare pressing down on me, crawling over every inch of my bare skin until a deep part of me wanted nothing more than to disappear.Swallowing hard against the thick, suffocating knot that had formed in my throat, I forced one shaky foot forward, the cold floor biting into my bare soles. I can do this. There simply wasn't another choice left for me in this world, because no man in existence ever truly rejected a woman who willingly offered herself up to him. At least, that was the brutal, simple lesson this pack had taught me up until now, and I had to believe that tonight would not b
