CHAPTER FIFTEEN

CHANEL'S POV

I got into my car and drove to the address Jessie sent to me. It was her step-sister's birthday party today and she had to be there.

I was quite surprised that she got invited, Jessie was from a wealthy family, but she didn't feel that way. I've known her for four years, ever since we both started working at Tasty.

Jessie had told me of how much she's been struggling to make it up to her mother and stepfather. As a child she wasn't very intelligent and that was always an issue for her parents since their other children were very intelligent.

Jessie had low self esteem as a teenager and struggled academically. Her mother kept pushing her towards modelling since Jessie wasn't good at studies and when she finally quit modelling as a teenager, her mother stopped being on her side.

She wanted a flawless daughter who'd be slim and ready to do as her mother pleased. Jessie started developing curves and could no longer model for her step-father's clothing line and was therefore
