Jax
I swipe at my forehead; the heat really is ridiculous today and having to deal with this idiot is something I could do without. I wipe the sweat from my hand onto my jeans and then resume tightening the bolts back into place.
“You shouldn’t give a time if you’re not going to be ready for that time,” continues the chump. I take a deep breath, it takes everything I have not to bite, especially when I’m so hot and irritated.
“I didn’t know that I was gonna be a man down today Mr Williams, I only ran over by half hour. I’ll knock some off the final bill.”
“You’ll knock half off the damn bill,” he snaps, his tone becoming irate.
“That’s not possible I’m afraid. I’ve done the work and you’ll need to pay for that plus the parts.” I sigh, closing the bonnet and heading back into the garage. He follows me, continuing to rant about poor customer service. In all honesty I’m close to giving him half price just to shut him up. Instead I turn on him suddenly, halting him mid-step.
“Mr Williams, you’ll pay your bill today at the price I set, or I’ll be keeping your vehicle. You’re starting to piss me off and that isn’t going to end well for you.”
His face pales, he’s clearly just remembered who the fuck I am and why he should watch his mouth. He nods once, and reaches for his wallet, glancing briefly at the bill I’ve laid out on the counter. He places the cash in my waiting hand, and I pass him his keys with a tight smile. Fucking prick.
I watch him drive his BMW away, narrowly avoiding a collision with Ryker’s Harley as he pulls into the workshop. He shakes his head in annoyance before dismounting his bike and removing his helmet. “Who was that idiot?”
“Someone who won’t be returning to us anytime soon. Apparently, the customer service here isn’t up to his standards.”
Ryker laughs, then places his helmet on the counter. “I spoke to Tatts. Loyal men were in the club last night. That’s twice in a month, are they starting something?”
I feel my muscles tense at the mention of The Loyal Brothers MC. They’ve been a pain in my arse for the last five years. Ever since we hit their drug source, as a consequence for dealing in our area.
They’ve been quiet for the last six months or so, and I was hoping they were quietly accepting defeat, seems like they were just waiting for the right time to show back up again. “Did they cause any problems?”Ryker shakes his head, “Apparently not, they didn’t spend much either. They asked specifically for a certain dancer, had a private dance and then left.”
I tap my fingers on the counter, a bad habit when I’m thinking. “Which girl?” I ask. Ryker shrugs, “Well let’s go find out. Maybe she can shed light on why they are asking for her.”
By the time we drive into the deserted carpark at our club, Fusion, the sun is setting and it brings a welcome relief from the hot sunshine. We head inside. The music is pumping, and various dancers are practising on the stage.
The bar staff are restocking fridges, and as we approach, a few of them scatter, leaving Blair to deal with us. She looks up and smiles wide. “Well hello there boss, haven’t seen you for some time.”I return her grin, leaning over the bar to check her out. “Tatts has this place running like clockwork, I don’t need to come in.”
“Tatts, get out here,” she shouts, before going back to stacking clean glasses.
A minute later, Tatts appears, suited and booted and looking professional. You wouldn’t think he was a biker looking at him right now but that’s the impression we were going for in Fusion. Not that we’re ashamed to be part of The Dark Souls MC, and everyone in town knows we own this dance club, but wearing leather cuts and jeans puts the customers on edge, and we want them relaxed enough to spend money.
We shake hands in greeting, “Hey Pres. I assumed you’d be in after our visitors last night.”
“Just a few queries,” I say, following him into the office. “Did they ask for the dancer by name?” Tatts nods, “And did you ask her what they wanted?”
“Yeah course, she said they asked for a private dance. She took them in one of the back rooms and the guy was too hands on. She told him she wasn’t up for extras and he left.”
“Is she in?” I ask, and Tatts nods, heading back to the door.
“Harlow, get in here,” he shouts.
We hear the clicking of heels and a girl enters in just lace underwear. Her long, light brown hair rests over one shoulder and her cheeks are flushed, like she’s been practising on stage. She gives me a sexy smile, her grey eyes glinting dangerously, daring me to flirt with her. I resist the urge, she is stunning with her long eye lashes and heart shaped lips but I’m wondering if she’s a spy planted by The Loyals.
“Harlow, this is Jax, President of our club,” introduces Tatts.
She places her hands on her hips and chews on her plump lower lip. “I know who he is, Tatts,” she replies in a husky tone.
“What did the Loyal’s want with you last night?” I ask.
She shrugs, not looking at all interested in my question. “There were two guys, didn’t have patches on but I noticed the tattoo on the back of their hands. They knew me by name, said a guy had told them I was the best. I took them out back but one of them was too hands on whilst the other watched. I didn’t like the vibe, so I pressed the button and Mac came in a turfed them out.”
“So, you don’t know them?” I ask, raising my eyebrow accusingly.
Harlow’s expression goes from bored to annoyed, “Look, I already passed your ridiculous background check. I don’t know those guys and I don’t want to. Do you think I’d have pressed the button if I knew them?”
“Enough Harlow,” Tatts snaps, “show some fucking respect.”
Sophia “What’s up with your miserable face?” asks Harlow, placing a drink in front of me. I’d practised a bit more behind the bar after Jax left with Candy, but then Creep told me to chill for the rest of the night. I think my miserable face was putting the guys off. “I had sex today,” I say, unable to keep from sounding so glum about it. Harlow gasps in surprise. “With Jax,” I add. Her eyes widen and she leans closer. “I thought he scared the shit outta you?” she hisses. “Well he does, but things just happened really quick. Anyway, he instantly regretted it and basically told me to keep it quiet,” I say miserably. “He’s ashamed.” She rolls her eyes. “What did you expect? A lifelong commitment from the president of the Dark Souls? Take it as a win, Sophia, he’s hot, you’re both single and it’s a bit of fun. God knows you need it in your life after everything.” “You didn’t see the way he looked at me. I’ve never felt so . . . used.” I shudder as I picture Jax’s eyes and the look
I stare after her, watching through the window in the door, as she walks across the clubhouse to the bar. Tank is seated there and he turns as she approaches. He’s assessing her, occasionally glancing at the office like he’s expecting me to run out after her. Maybe he’s worked out what we just did. I groan, hating that I’ve screwed him over. I grab the keys to my bike and pull on my leather kutte. I need to get out of here and clear my head. I feel Sophia’s eyes follow me as I sweep through the club house and then I hear Candy’s heels click after me. “Jax, Jax,” she shouts, until I stop and turn to face her. “Fancy company?” I glance at Sophia who’s watching the exchange between us. An ache builds in my chest at what I’m about to do. I give a slight nod, then force myself to hold out my hand until she takes it with a huge grin on her face. Sophia turns her back, busying herself behind the bar, and I lead Candy out to my bike. I don’t want company. I don’t want to be around anoth
We stare at each other for a few seconds, I weigh up the need ripping through me with knowing that Tank wants this girl as much as me. But then her hands begin to untie the knot in her shirt and all I can do is watch helplessly. She pulls it open and the black lace bra taunts me. There’s just enough gap in the material to show the outline of her nipples. “Your turn,” she whispers and I drag my eyes from her breasts to her flushed cheeks. I know I shouldn’t. But I reach for the hem of my t-shirt and rip it over my head before I can change my mind. Her eyes rake over my torso, taking in the tattoo’s that cover every inch of skin. She lifts her hand and it hovers over my toned abs, almost like she’s unsure if she should touch me. I step closer, giving her no choice and she inhales sharply before running her fingers over my skin. She brings her eyes back to mine as her hand flutters down towards the button of my jeans. She pops it open effortlessly, giving me the green light. Our mouth
It’s getting late, I have a shit tonne of paperwork to plough through but the raucous laughter coming from the clubhouse keeps dragging my attention away from business. I throw my pen down and rub my forehead in frustration, maybe I should just go and seewhat’s going on out there and get back to this shit later on when the place is quieter. I throw my pen down and head out to the main room. There’s a crowd of my men at the bar. They’re cheering loudly and I head over to see what all the fuss is about. I’m astounded by the sight before me. Sophia is laid out on the bar whilst a few of the guys do body shots from her stomach. Her shirt is tied into a knot above her pierced navel, and her arms are laid out above her head in a teasing pose. I look around, hoping Tank is witnessing this shit and feels just as pissed about it as me. But when I scan the room, I spot him sitting over the other side talking to Ryker. I head over with my blood pumping, rushing through my veins, ready to burs
When I get back out to the bar, Ryker is still seated there and Harlow as now arrived. “Hey sweetie,” I say giving her a quick hug, it’s great to see a friendly face. “Hey,” she mutters, “Are they treating you good?” I notice she looks sad. I give a nod, “So far, I have zero complaints. My room is nice, I can get food when I want, and I’m surrounded by eye candy.” I add a small laugh to show I’m kidding but she doesn’t return it. “I want an answer, Harlow,” grumbles Ryker, glaring in her direction. “The answer is no,” she snaps. “I let you see her, didn’t I?” he growls. “But she can’t leave yet, when you let her leave, I might change my mind,” she snaps, taking a seat at the bar. He mutters something under his breath about women being a pain in his arse, and then he stomps off to Jax’s office. I lean over the bar, “Wow what were you saying no to?” “He asked me for sex,” My eyes go wide in shock and Harlow nods as if confirming my need to question that statement. “Wow, not
An hour later and I realise just how hard it can be. I’ve messed up a few pints, but practise makes perfect as Creep keeps telling me. He laughs at my failed attempt number six and pours it down the sink. “Ryker, what can I get you?” asks Creep in a cheery tone as Ryker takes a seat at the bar. “Usual,” mutters Ryker. Creep sets about showing me Ryker’s usual, which is easy, a whisky neat. I place it on the bar and Ryker looks up. “Does Pres know you’re behind the bar?” I shrug, “I was bored, I don’t want paying or anything.” There’s a commotion coming from Jax’s office and we all look in that direction as the door swings open and a woman stomps out, followed by Jax. “I asked you and you turned me away for fucking Bea, I’m sick of it Jax,” she screams. “Someone get in here and clean this fucking mess up,” yells Jax. Creep shoves a sweeping brush and dustpan in my hands, and I glare at him, “Me?” He nods, gently pushing me in the direction of Jax’s office. Great, now I’m the sl
