I can hear what sounds like waves, but I know I am nowhere near a body of water. I can feel the restraints on my wrists keeping me still on the bed, as I recover from the night before. My head is swimming, and I feel like I have been hit by a Mack truck. But last night, that pain, I have never felt that kind of pain before, it was like my insides were liquifying. The burning and the sharp stabbing pain that radiated through my body was more than I felt I could bear. I am afraid to ask what the hell Onyx and Battt put down my throat, just remember looking at her and seeing something wriggling in her hand. It made the pain stop so maybe I won’t ask. I slowly open my eyes, not sure of my surroundings, I don’t remember who I fed from. Usually I can feel their essence, their spirit and I know them.     NicolaiI watch my beautiful wife as she sits on the terrace reading her book and gently swinging while the breeze blows her light auburn hair. Her alabaster skin has a pink hue on her cheeks and around her mouth indicative of her last hunt. The hunt here is sublime as the volunteers do go out and hide from us, coaxing us to look for them and catch them to feed. There is a limit on how much we can take from each source, but they allow more than one volunteer to join for a single vampire. I turn my head to look out to the mountains, the beauty here is unmatched with the green foliage and the beautiful bluish gray skies. In the distance you can hear the bells from the Monastery on the hillside. The monks have been more than generous with their hospitality in regard to the volunteers and our privacy.Ana slams her book shut and sighs one of the longest sighs I have ever heard, causing me to chuckle. “Problems, my love?” She glances at me, her beautiful mouth ticking up into a small smile.
