“You are going too slow,” Luther said to Amanda.
“She’s heavy,” Amanda said. She was out of breath at taking Ella downstairs. Both Luther and her were holding her arms on either side of their shoulders. They were almost next to Luther’s car but Amanda was lagging behind.
“Let me just carry her,” Luther said. He picked up Ella and carried her while asking Amanda to open the back door. She opened it and he placed Ella on the back seat. After strapping her to the seat with the seat belt, then Luther closed the door. He found Amanda leaning against the car. She was sweating profusely and she looked like she would be unconscious in the next minute.
“Are you sure you are ok?” Luther asked.
Pete had a very long day after listening to Jess and William chatting like old friends. To the best of his knowledge, Jess and William had not been in touch since he saw them chatting at her father’s burial. In the past, he had never had such worries because he had always made sure that he did not form any attachments. Ella had been his first girlfriend and she had broken his trust in women completely. After that, he used women and paid them off as though they were retail objects. However, everything was different with Jess. It wasn’t just because she was attractive or smart. Not even her old washed up clothes could have been enough to hide her beauty. He had wanted to kiss her even when she was just wearing flat shoes and a maid’s uniform. It wasn’t her intelligence either. He loved her witty conversation enough but it was more than that. It was her genuineness. She did not care whether she was talking to the ric
Ever since baby Beaver had been born, he had turned the Scott residence into his throne. Everyone was at his beck and call and he was only unattended when he was asleep. He had noticed how he would get attention with a single cry, and he capitalized on it. He managed to wrap everyone around his cute chubby fingers with his sweet smile and warmness when he was held and given the attention he demanded. The workers in the house were always willing and ready to take care of him and Leslie was not as overwhelmed as most new mums. However, she was still recovering from the pregnancy and childbirth, so she occasionally experienced periods of loneliness. This Saturday was one of those days. Jess had come over to visit her and she had found her curled up in bed with the baby sleeping next to heray“Hi,” Jess whispered.“Hey. Come in
“What do you mean Todd is dead? You promised me that you let him live,” Jess cried in dismay.“After I left him alone, several members of the other gang got to him. He didn’t leave town fast enough and they finished him,” Pete said. He knew he had to lie in order to maintain his relationship with Jess. Besides, she had no way of verifying the truth.“ What I’m I going to tell Leslie?” Jess asked with tears rolling down her face.“There is nothing to tell. Just stick to the story I told her,” Pete said as he took Jess into his arms to comfort her.“When did you find out?” Jess asked as she lay her head on Pete’s chest.“When
Sunday morning was one of Jess’s favorite times. She often woke up and cooked pancakes, waffles or made any simple breakfast while in the company of Pete. They then ate leisurely in the apartment and ordered food for lunch as they made plans for the week. Part of this time was spent making love in various styles and any part of the house, because neither of them wanted to go anywhere on Sundays. However, today did not feel like an ordinary Sunday. First of all, neither Pete nor Jess were in the mood to wake up early. Jess had spent the night tossing and turning, and she had only gotten some sleep when the sun was rising. On the other hand, Pete had come back home late. He had been very drunk and was not willing to talk about the meeting with his mother. Each had been tormented by their own demons. Pete was disappointed that his mother was always choosing other people over him, while Jess was feeling guilty over Todd’s death.
Three weeks had passed since William had asked Jess to break up with Pete. They had seen each other a few times at Leslie’s house. They had also had a date at William’s house one Saturday afternoon. It had been a pleasant and private affair and Jess had almost been unwilling to go back to the penthouse. William had been the perfect host and they had enjoyed a three course meal together. They had also been talking regularly on the phone and sharing a lot of private jokes. Jess was feeling happy because things were going well and William was glad to take things slow. Jess had been battling with herself on whether she should tell Leslie about William. She wanted to share her mixed feelings with someone who would understand her without judging her. But she also wanted someone who could give her sound advice without making her feel more guilty. However, the situation with Todd was always at the back of her mind an
The Garcia mansion was a beautiful architectural wonder. Passersby often stopped and took photos of the grand house that sat in the middle of the beautifully landscaped gardens. The majority of people were envious of the occupants of this fine property. They often imagined what it would be like to be surrounded by this level of luxury and enjoy all the benefits of such wealth. Little did they know that inside this house was a miserable man wishing that he could be anywhere else but here. Donald Garcia had been in the house alone for close to two weeks now. Both Amanda and William were angry at him and neither wanted to come home. Don was stuck at home with the maids and the other staff. He found himself snapping at them for the smallest of reasons, until they began to hide from him. Don had to admit that without his family, the house was becoming unbearable. He took out his phone and called Amanda hoping and praying that this time she wo
“Good morning,” Jess said when she walked out of the bathroom. Pete was standing by the bed scrolling through his phone. He had just come home and he looked tired.“Good morning,” he said. He looked briefly at her and then looked away. Jess walked to the dressing table and began applying her cosmetics. Pete sat on the bed and was watching Jess from the corner of his eyes. He looked worried like there was something on his mind.“How was work?” Jess asked as she finished at the dressing table. She was taking out clothes from the wardrobe and putting on her underwear.“I wasn’t at work. I was at mum’s house,” Pete said. Jess raised her eyebrows in surprise.“Is everything
Warning! Sexual content coming upJess had one of the longest days she had ever had at NextGen. She had tried to get the afternoon off immediately she got in but as luck would have it she was chosen for a project. The briefing would be taking place in the afternoon and she didn’t have much of a choice. It was either she forfeits the project by missing the briefing or she takes the afternoon off and plans her move. She decided to take the project and sleep at the apartment until the weekend when she could find time to look for an apartment. Jess went through the day without much contact with her phone because of the busy schedule. By the time it was time to leave the office, she realized that she hadn’t spoken to anyone on the phone all day. As she scrolled through the notifications, she saw two missed calls. One was from Leslie and the other was from Pete. She called back Leslie who wanted her to come
