Yao saw down on her bed next to Nina “Are you staying longer?” She asked and rested her head on his shoulder. “It’s before midnight, I don't plan to leave until you can't feel your legs”

She rolled her eyes "I'm not in the mood for more sex tonight. She looked at his back and pulled a nail out "tch, I just got these done"

"I don't know why you go to the Vietnamese for your nails. They always break." He laid back and stretched his arms. Dual cultivation always calmed the rampant yang energy in his core and mellowed out his temper. "And not in the mood? Are you sick?"

“No ..I just have a lot to do in the morning"

“Did Madam Xi summon you again?”

“Not this time” she laid down next to Yao and rested her head on his chest.

He let his arm rest around her, as he stroked her hair. "Like getting your nails redone?" He teased her.

"Well that too," she smirked. She liked it when they were like this. It was almost like they were back before their Awakening.

"Let me give it an actual guess, then... Either Rico wants you to come model for him or Don Enzo has found something."

She chuckled "no I'm just doing some shopping and running errands. It's boring but I need to be in person for it"

"Isn't that why you have Lu?" He toyed with her ear as he laid with her. It was still red from him manhandling it earlier. "He's your right hand, but you let him muck about so loosely. Too much freedom makes one lax in their duties.”

"says the man that lets Yang run amok. Besides these are things I have to do personally" she rolled her eyes. Yao looked down, something was off.

“Are you shopping for something new or old?”

Nina could feel him tense up “Yao..you're starting to dig where you shouldn't.”

He sat up, knocking her off him “you always say that when you're in over your head” their peace was gone, just like that.

“It's not like that…I-”

"Why are you such a headstrong Bitch!?" Yao yelled and stood up. He was too pissed off to mentally translate. He went to the living room and started putting on his pants. "Who are you meeting with huh? You finally deciding to fuck Enzo!?"

"Stop! I told you it's not like that. I just have to tend to something personal"

"I am the only personal thing you have Nina. Me." He said looking down as he used one of his rings to make a temporary button "With how entitled you're acting you’d actually think you're Chinese. "

Silence followed his last comment and he looked up just as her fist met his jaw.

"Fuck, Nina?" He saw the look on her face, she was seeing red.

She threw another punch and he blocked her this time

he dodged another blow

he could feel her entire house shaking from all the gemstones she had hidden.

"CALM DOWN!?" A piece of topaz flew towards his shoulder

She threw the gold ring she had been wearing at him.

"Nina that's not…I didn't" Even through all their arguments she had never taken it off before. It was then he understood how much he crossed the line.

"Leave" Her door swung open and he sighed. She wasn't going to listen to him like this. So, he left.

Lu paced outside, through the window he watched as Nina drank from her wine bottle.

he pulled out his phone and texted Yang, Yao's right hand "Yang what...happened?"

"I was about to ask the same. Yao came back with a bruise on his face."

"Fuuuuck alright, see you at the bar tomorrow"

Lu sighed, and stared at his phone. he was going to have to stay overnight, but it was late already. If he called his wife now it was a death sentence. but if he didn't call her at all, the angry Latina would follow him to hell. He took a deep breath and picked up the phone

"Maria...sorry to wake you...yes I know what time it is. Its going to be an overnig-" he held the phone away from his ear as she yelled. "I promise I'll make it up to you okay? Why don't you get your mom to watch Gabe and we'll have a real nice date night" After a few moments he relaxed as she seemed to agree. "Alright, love you honey. goodnight" He hung up the phone and went into Nina's house

"Boss it's me" he said loudly, just before a sharp shard of obsidian made its way to him. "Sorry Lu, I thought Yao came back" she said from the living room. Her robe was back on, albeit messed up, and several wine bottles were on the table.

"Why don't you get some sleep? You have your annual day off tomorrow. Don't want to have that with a hangover do you?"

"Fine, watch the door" she stood up, bottle still in hand. Lu managed to swiftly take it from her as she walked by, not seeming to notice. "the amount of medicine she has to take for her liver..."
