Semua Bab Jewelry Box: Bab 1 - Bab 10

Nina's heels clicked against the marble floor of the banquet hall. It was a show of power and wealth against the other gangs in Advent. She scanned the crowd, many familiar faces ..and many new ones too. She took in a deep breath and stood tall. She hated crowds but if she didn't show, the others would use it to find a way to use it against her. Her half Norwegian blood already did that for her already. She took a passing champagne glass and observed the crowd. She needed to speak with the Dragon Triad first or she would be harassed for speaking to outsiders before her own people, but they were so…irritating. The Triad was the last gang in the area that viewed having mixed blood as a sin, but she was basically born into it and leaving was just simply not an option. Because of this, she decided long ago that since she couldn't leave, she'd become too valuable for them to just get rid of. As she made her observations and musings a man approached her. A new face, or else he would sim

Nina walked into La Esperanza, a high end Italian restaurant in a neighboring territory. The hostess at the front was a young woman, sharply dressed in her uniform. “Hello” she smiled at Nina as she walked in. “Do you have a reservation with us today?” She asked in a welcoming tone. “No, but I'd like to make an order of cold noodles to go” Nina replied, as if the dish was the most natural thing to order in such an establishment. “Cold…noodles?” The hostess looked at her confused. Nina took a closer look at the woman and nodded “you must be new.” She blushed “y-yes ma'am, I just started here a few days ago.” She was nervous, she had been yelled at a few times by entitled customers already for refusing to seat without a reservation. “Give the order to someone in management then follow their instructions. Don't worry” Nina gave her an encouraging smile “they'll know how to handle the order” The hostess smiled back then went to fetch her manager “Antonio?” She got her manager's at

Yao saw down on her bed next to Nina “Are you staying longer?” She asked and rested her head on his shoulder. “It’s before midnight, I don't plan to leave until you can't feel your legs” She rolled her eyes "I'm not in the mood for more sex tonight. She looked at his back and pulled a nail out "tch, I just got these done" "I don't know why you go to the Vietnamese for your nails. They always break." He laid back and stretched his arms. Dual cultivation always calmed the rampant yang energy in his core and mellowed out his temper. "And not in the mood? Are you sick?" “No ..I just have a lot to do in the morning" “Did Madam Xi summon you again?” “Not this time” she laid down next to Yao and rested her head on his chest. He let his arm rest around her, as he stroked her hair. "Like getting your nails redone?" He teased her. "Well that too," she smirked. She liked it when they were like this. It was almost like they were back before their Awakening. "Let me give it an act

Elder Wang was meditating in his back garden pavilion, at least he was until the commotion from Yao reached his ears. A flash of gold caught his eyes as Yao cut everything in his path. Wang stood up to greet his pupil. "Yao, what has made you so upset?" he asked like a grandfather trying to appease a child. "Did you find anything in the audit?" "I found myself in a deficit. You owe me, so how do you plan on paying me back?" "And what exactly do I owe you?" he asked, humoring Yao and the tantrum he was throwing. Yao held out his hand and two blades flew out towards Wang. They cut through his robe and a chunk of flesh fell from his crotch. "I've come for my pound of flesh, for every year you took him from me." He said coldly as the blades returned to him. "What are you talking about!?" he asked as a blade of wind flew past Yao. He couldn't concentrate through the pain and loss of blood. "My son!" he yelled as he let the blades loose once more "Nina wasn't taken out by the

There was a soft rumbling in the trial room. Many of Yao's rivals came to see his downfall. The neutral parties came to see the change in power, and his few allies were seeing if it was worth jumping ship. Yao leaned on his hand at the mahogany desk, bored of the pony show that they were putting up. His advisor moved things around nervously. The murmuring fell silent as the click of heels met the stone floor. Yao's ears perked, and he turned around to see Nina in a black and silver dress. He felt a surge of power and realized she was wearing white gold, not silver. He gave a small smile, even after being asleep for a month she looked ravishing. He wished he was allowed to speak here or he'd call out to her, but it would be just another thing to use against him. Nina smiled at him as she strutted confidently, and listened to the murmurs as she went by. Apparently there had been rumors that she had died. She went to take the seat meant for the significant other but found it taken
