Leo looked baffled but still grabbed a bathrobe and loosely wrapped it around himself. Rael couldn’t stand it anymore, pressed his fingers against his forehead, and said to Leif, “Mr. Vexley, just hold on a moment.”

Then he put down the phone, walked over, and carefully tied the bathrobe’s belt for Leo, making sure it wouldn’t come undone again. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.

Leo glanced down at the belt, tied so tightly it looked like Rael was trying to tie a knot that wouldn’t come loose.

Rael picked up his phone again but kept stealing glances at Leo from the corner of his eye. This guy was always fidgety—if he wasn’t careful, he might just undo the belt again without realizing it.

Leo grabbed a towel and sat down beside Rael. Naturally, he handed the towel over to Rael, who caught it smoothly. One hand held the phone, while the other used the towel to wipe the water droplets from Leo’s hair.

They were both so used to this routine that neither thought anything was out o

  • Jilted Heiress Strikes Back   Regret

On the way to the hospital, Leif held Raina tightly. He sat up straight, his body stiff as a board. Though his hands were wrapped around her, he carefully avoided any direct contact—like he was afraid to touch her too much. But the grip only got tighter, like he wanted to squeeze her into his bones, to become one with her.Raina started to feel a little breathless, but her mind told her she wasn’t supposed to wake up right now. For some strange reason, she felt oddly reassured—Leif wouldn’t hurt her anyway. So, she let herself pretend to be unconscious with complete peace of mind.Maybe it was the tension finally snapping, or maybe the exhaustion after everything she’d been through. Leif’s embrace somehow gave her a strange comfort, and before she knew it, she was drifting off to sleep. In that half-dreamy state, she thought she heard Leif say something—just a word or two, but she was too tired to catch it clearly. The only words that stuck were “regret” and “regret.”Regret what? She

  • Jilted Heiress Strikes Back   Evidence

Those people were dragged from the door up onto the stage. As soon as they got there, the black-suited bodyguards kicked them down to their knees.“The fire at the lab... we set it. We were wrong. We were just following orders—”“I—I was forced. I really didn’t want to do it. Yes, forced. I just wanted to survive, just wanted to eat...”“It was her! It was Mireille! She made us set the fire. Said if we didn’t, she’d kill us to keep us quiet. We had no choice. None of us wanted to die...”“We were just trying to protect ourselves. What’s wrong with that? Nobody survives by being selfless. If I want to live, then I... I...”The few of them looked pale, broken, and on the verge of collapse. Kneeling on the floor, it wasn’t clear if they truly felt guilty for killing or if they were just forced into confessing.Mireille stood there frozen in shock. If the video wasn’t enough, now these people who actually set the fire were coming forward to accuse her—that was solid proof.Ironclad, unden

  • Jilted Heiress Strikes Back   Fake Agreement

As Mireille finished speaking, the huge screen behind them switched—the bloody, crazy video disappeared, replaced by a photo of a document. The cover clearly read in big letters: Company Transfer Agreement. At the end of the document was Raina’s own handwritten signature, agreeing to transfer the company to Mireille for free. The whole room erupted in shocked whispers.“What the—what’s going on here?!”“Who’s actually framing who? Could that video really be fake?”“No way… photos can be faked, but videos? That’s gotta be real… right?!”“Hard to say. Who says videos can’t be faked? They can be edited, you know? And honestly, Mireille doesn’t seem crazy enough to do something that messed up…”The mood in the room shifted again.Mireille seized the moment, putting on a look of quiet suffering and hurt as she said, “Sis, I know you’ve been bitter ever since Dad handed the company to me, but... we’re family, after all. No matter whose name the company’s under, it’s still the same. No matte

  • Jilted Heiress Strikes Back   Secret Tunnel

“Wait—sister?! That ugly, useless Raina from the Carrington family actually showed up? Man!”“Raina got disfigured, right? Didn’t she run off abroad and hide? And now she’s back, daring to show her face again?!”“Back in the day, Raina was something else—stunning, brilliant, the cream of the crop. After she took the crown as the city’s top socialite, there were even rumors she was going to marry Reid, the young master of Lystra. She was living the dream. But then—”“But what’s the point of that? She messed up her own life, got disfigured by her own mother, got pregnant before marriage, and betrayed Reid. Someone like her doesn’t deserve anything!”The crowd’s tone instantly flipped. They were full of malice, speaking as if they’d all lived through that scandal firsthand—like if they didn’t vent their outrage at Raina, they’d be betraying someone.Everyone was turning against her.On stage, Mireille watched their reaction with satisfaction, as if she’d just won a huge battle. For the f

  • Jilted Heiress Strikes Back   Twisting the Facts

“Excuse me… sir, why can’t VIREXIN be released? Isn’t that the miracle drug developed by Vireon Lab?”“Yeah, you can’t just say it can’t be released without proof. And aren’t those pills your product? Vireon Lab’s reputation is on the line here…”“A lot of people are waiting on this medicine to save their lives. You gotta be responsible with what you say!”“That’s nonsense — aren’t you just putting people in danger?”Then someone shouted loudly, “Who’s putting people in danger?! We’re trying to save them!”A few others nearby whispered, “Yeah, we’re not harming anyone. We’re trying to save lives… VIREXINs failed the clinical trials. They didn’t pass.”“We didn’t do anything wrong! Why won’t you listen to us?”“Just ignore them. We didn’t cause any harm. Why should we have to take the blame for this?”Keith got furious. “Carl, what kind of nonsense is that? We didn’t cause harm, sure — but we can’t just stand by and do nothing! Mr. Shaw just died, and at a time like this, you want to b

  • Jilted Heiress Strikes Back   Ruthless Ascension

“What?! They’re removing Jasper’s position as CEO?”“Has Mireille gone crazy? How can she say something so arrogant! What gives her the right?!”“Jasper can’t be stupid—he’s just sitting there motionless... This can’t be real, can it? The Hale Group changing hands? What’s going on?!”“I knew there would be big news today, but I didn’t expect such a huge bomb. Where’s Lucas? Isn’t he going to do anything?”“The Hale family is about to undergo a major upheaval...”The crowd below erupted in whispers, their voices swelling like a wave that almost drowned out the speakers on stage. After a long moment, Jasper finally snapped out of his shock and fury. He slammed his palm hard onto the table, shattering a teacup in front of him, and roared, “Mireille! What nonsense are you spouting?! Have you lost your mind? On what grounds are you taking over the Hale Group?! The Hale Group belongs to our Hale family! Grandpa—”Mireille stood there calmly. Whether it was just an illusion, a faint trace of
