Zain looked down at his niece and smiled. “Well, Munchkin! What would you like to eat?”

Juan had been in the process of fixing her plate when he decided it was time for his wife to go to the hospital.

“Where did Mommy and Daddy go?” she asked, looking up at her uncle as concern filled her eyes.

Zain scooped her up and set her on his lap. “Well, you’re mommy and daddy went to greet your new little brother, Sebastian, into the world.”

“Can I go?” she blinked back tears.

Zain kissed the top of her head. “In a little while. But right now, you need to eat.”
