Jenny looked away.

“Oh, that? He just snapped at me, yelled a little… Nothing major. He was worried. Don’t overthink, Davi. He knows you’re safe. That’s all that matters, and he knows about Eva, I had to tell him.”

But Davina’s eyes didn’t leave her.

“He’s never this calm. And never this trusting— not after a day like today. Something’s not right. He doesn’t know what happened, but still… something feels wrong…. A nagging feeling…. A dread crawling…”

“Maybe he’s busy solving Eva’s matter….,” Jenny murmured, rubbing her temples.

“Maybe he knows more than we think. He had told me he would handle the morning incident and not to worry or let you know anything. If he plans to handle that by himself then.......... Shit....... Mike confronting Damon… especially now then ever. Damon knows you are Davina Parker so.... won't Damon learn Mike is your fiance...... that would be bad right...... ”

Jenny trailed off, visibly rattled.

“Shifu,” she whispered,

“it’s all so goddamn messed up.”
