Davina began, “Well… as for Eva,” her voice trembling with a mix of doubt and exhaustion,

“I have the same questions. I remember Damon used to insist I should at least hear her out during those two years… but I never gave her that chance. Maybe she had her reasons for not standing by me. Maybe she chose herself. And after today… I don’t even think I want to do anything that would cause her direct harm. Not after what I did to that woman today. She could have lost her life… her child. I don’t even know if it’s their first child. But that doesn’t mean I’ll spare Ryan. He needs to suffer. Him, Amara, Annaida… they all do. Ryan may have been just a spectacle, but he’s my next target. I just don’t know whether to start with him… or Annaida.”

Her words trailed off, heavy with indecision.

Jenny leaned forward, her eyes sharp. “Shifu, what’s your next move? Mike said he would deal with the accident issue. He made me spill about Eva… are you going to talk to him?”

Davina rubbed her temple, gu

The afternoon sun streamed through the wide windows, casting a warm glow across the dining table where the three women sat. Plates had been cleared, coffee cups lingered, and laughter still echoed faintly from their earlier banter. Jenny leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with mischief, while Naina tapped her fingers against her laptop, barely containing her excitement.“Shifu,” Jenny began, her tone playful, “you won’t believe what we’ve been up to while you were snoring away like Sleeping Beauty.”Naina grinned, chiming in, “We’ve practically turned into detectives. Ryan and Eva’s lives are an open book now, and Jenny’s been digging into Annaida and Amara like a hawk. You should’ve seen the files we pulled together.”Davina’s smile faltered, her brows knitting as she sat straighter.“Detectives, huh? And all while I was wasting half a day in bed.” Her voice sharpened, scolding but tinged with frustration.“Do you two even realize how important each day is for me right now? The gala

The morning light filtered softly through the curtains, painting the room in muted gold. Davina lay sound asleep, her breathing steady, her face finally free of the tension that had haunted her through the night. After hours of pouring out her pain, her vulnerabilities, and the trauma she had carried for years, exhaustion had claimed her completely.Jenny and Naina stirred quietly, careful not to wake her. They exchanged a glance — unspoken agreement passing between them. Today would not be a day of endless meetings or corporate battles. Today was for Davina. They moved with quiet efficiency. Jenny slipped into the kitchen, preparing a simple breakfast, the kind that would comfort rather than overwhelm. Naina, meanwhile, had already arranged for a doctor to visit. She administered the prescribed shots while Davina slept, ensuring her healing would begin without her even realizing it.By the time the sun rose higher, both women had reassigned their workloads to trusted subordinates. Davina’s eyes glistened as she continued."Once we reached Australia, I was far from being in the right state of mind. I moved through those days like a living corpse, obeying instructions without thought, simply existing rather than living. My grandpa, seeing how fragile I was, introduced me to his old friends — Mr. and Mrs. Marshall. They were both doctors. Mr. Marshall was a renowned psychiatrist, specializing in trauma recovery and post‑traumatic stress counselling, while Mrs. Marshall was a gynecologist with additional expertise in clinical nutrition and women’s health. She also worked as a mental‑wellbeing coach, guiding patients through lifestyle therapy, diet regulation, and emotional resilience. Together, they became my pillars. With their care, I wasn’t just treated medically — I was nurtured holistically, body and mind.Under their care, I was placed on a strict regimen. I took prescribed medications to stabilize my body, followed a carefully monitored diet plan to restore

Jenny’s voice broke the silence, fragile but insistent, her words trembling as though she feared the answer.“Shifu… did they… did those men do something? The security guys… like Annaida asked?”Naina’s head snapped toward her, eyes narrowing, but Jenny’s question hung heavy in the air. Davina just shook her head slowly, her silence carrying more weight than words. Jenny exhaled sharply, relief flooding her face as she hugged Davina tighter, wiping her own tears before speaking again — this time with a rush of thoughts that had been clawing at her mind.“Shifu, I don’t get it. Why was Eva silent when all of that happened? Did Ryan threaten her? She was always the kind of girl who would stand by you through thick and thin. Even if you were wrong, she’d defend you in public and scold you in private. That’s who she was. So why… why didn’t she say anything? Why didn’t she move?”Jenny’s voice cracked, confusion bleeding into anger.“From what you’ve told us, and from what I’ve pieced toget

PRESENTTears streamed down Davina’s face, her body trembling, her eyes lifeless as if she had just relived her worst nightmare — the most tragic days of her past. Jenny and Naina held her from either side, whispering soft apologies, murmuring “sorry” and “it’s okay” as though words could mend what had been shattered.Jenny clung to her, silently holding her hand, but it was Naina’s voice that broke through — sharp, raw, and filled with rage.“I didn’t know you were living through hell, Davi. I thought you had a happy life. When I learned about your pregnancy, I assumed Damon forced you into an abortion, or tried to kill the babies, or abandoned you. I thought that was what broke you. And when you asked me to dig into their lives, I assumed that Alex was D, the one who betrayed you, and you had discovered his infidelity — But then you told me D wasn’t Alex. It was Damon Knight.I was flustered, because I couldn’t dig up dirt on him. On the surface, he was spotless. Untouchable. And yet
