2~Forced To Get Married

Aurora's POV

As I applied the last bit of concealer to hide the bruises on my face, my gaze fell on my reflection. My eyes were still hollow and gaunt but unfortunately, there was nothing I could do about that. I was putting on one of my mother's old gowns which she had dropped the night before. My mom had adjusted it to my size and it looked good if you could ignore the already fading color. 

I gripped the counter tightly until my fist turned white. I was nervous. When I walk out that door now, I would be claimed as someone else's. Knowing my mate was out there somewhere made matters worse. Would he ever consider taking me back if he finds out that I'm already mated and married off to another man? 

Leo and I had been friends in our childhood until he hit puberty and started acting coldly towards me. He always bullied and insulted whenever he saw me and tonight wouldn't be any different. Was the Alpha too blind to see that if his son truly loved me as he claimed, he wouldn't treat me like shit that he could spit on? Was my father blind too? They obviously were. 

I was startled by a loud bang on my door. “What the hell are you still doing in there?! If you don't come here right this minute—” My father's voice rang out behind the door. 

His threat was clear as day, I immediately let go of the counter, looking at myself one more time in the mirror, I quickly walked out of my room and opened the door. My father looked at me up and down, disapproval clear in his features but thankfully, he didn't say a word about it. 

“Come.” He ordered gruffly and I immediately followed behind him like a lost puppy. My body instinctively listened to orders after years of being ordered around. 

We got out of the house and walked towards the Alpha's house where the ceremony was going to be held. I ducked my head to the ground as whispers flew past us as we passed. 

“Look at her, she's so ugly.” I heard someone say. 

“I know right? Do you see her clothes? They look so dirty and...old.” The other replied. I felt anger surge through me at their words, but I couldn't do anything. In this pack, I was weak and defenseless. 

So, I listened to every criticism they had to say about me. They all felt like shards of glass being pricked on my body. 

“I wonder what Leo saw in her. He could have someone better, someone like me. I'm fit to be the Luna, not this ugly whore.” Lucy said. Lucy had always held a grudge against me when I was still friends with Leo in our childhood and it just got worse when it was announced that he was getting married to me.

I sneaked a peek in her direction and immediately regretted it. Her eyes were already on me as she glared at me with jealousy. If only she knew how much I didn't want to get married to my bully, Leo. Goddess! It would have been better if he was getting married to Lucy. At least, I would have been free to devise my plans of escaping this hell hole. 

Before the wedding was announced, I was ready to start making plans of escaping the pack with my mother and never coming back. But that hope was squashed when they dropped the marriage bomb on me. 

“Move faster.” My father barked, pushing me forward to work faster. I knocked my foot on a stone and lost my balance, just as I was about to fall to the ground, someone held me from falling. Turning around to see who saved me from embarrassing myself, I saw none other than Leo. 

A scowl immediately replaced the grateful smile on my face. Leo smirked as soon as he saw my reaction towards him. He turned to my father and ordered rudely, “Leave.” He waved him off, my father immediately scurried away. 

He hooked his arm with mine as he walked us into the grand hall. I tried to remove his hand from mine, but he only held on tighter, finally giving up, I let him lead us inside. It was decorated with white interiors and daisies. I immediately scrunched up my nose as soon as I saw the daisies. 

“I figured you liked daisies, so I got plenty of them for you.” Leo smirked, knowing what he said was a lie. 

The truth was, I hated daisies. In fact, I was allergic to them and Leo obviously did this to spite me. “You're an asshole.” I gritted my teeth at him. 

He rolled his eyes. “When you become my wife, I will have to teach you how to properly talk to your husband.” He said the word 'wife' with glinted eyes. “Oh, and you know the fun part?” He asked, leaning closer to me. His breath reeked of alcohol and it was all I could do not to haul right there. “Our wedding night.” He whispered in my ear, making me freeze. “I'm going to show you exactly what a man and wife do on their wedding night. You are so going to enjoy it.” 

My lips curled in disgust as I pushed him away from me. He staggered a little before catching himself. “I'm not going to have sex with you, Leo. Never.” I added for good measure. The thought alone repulsed me. He must be completely delusional to think I was going to give my body to him after forcing me into a meaningless marriage with him. 

An angry expression crossed Leo's features as he gripped my arm painfully digging his nails into my skin. “I think you've forgotten your place here, bitch. You're a slave. A worthless little slave. You should be thankful that I chose to get married to your stupid self. I could have chosen a better and more beautiful woman but I fucking chose you, you ungrateful bitch!” He yelled, gaining the attention of some people but they didn't interfere and went back to their business like nothing happened. 

“Let go of me!” I hissed at him, but he didn't budge. “I didn't ask you to choose me in the first place. Like you said, you could have chosen a more beautiful girl but yet you chose me.” I said, grinning forcefully while trying not to wince as his finger pierced my skin. 

He was just about to retort when the Alpha announced the beginning of the ceremony. He gave me one last glare as he said, “I'm going to have you, Rory. I don't care if I have to do it forcefully.” And with that, he strutted off as if he hadn't just insinuated that he was going to r*pe me. 

Here goes nothing. There was no going back now. I was really going to get married to Leo and be stuck in this pack for the rest of my life. 

If only there was a way I could get out of this...
