Chapter Two: The revenge of the slave

She reached out for the potion bottle and poured the liquid into the bottle.

“Why do I keep rewinding that day?”

She looked up at the ceiling, it is raining again.  She placed the potion next to the empty potion bottles. She climbed into one of the tree house’s foundations. While sticking in the house’s roof like a lizard, she finds where the leak is. When she finally found it, she jumped directly to the floor and climbed down from the treehouse. She ran to a house of a witch and saw plywood.

She smiled. Hazel carefully removed the plywood with her bare hands. She ran to the treehouse with the stolen plywood. She bit the plywood and climbed the treehouse. She removed the plywood from her mouth and spitted out the things that came to her mouth when she bit the wood. She carefully pulled out the toolbox and started to repair the broken part of the roof.

She smiled at the fixed roof.

She grabbed the potion she made earlier and ran barefooted to the crone’s house.

She knocked on the door and secretly hid the potion in her pocket.

“What are you doing here?” A hedgewitch opened the door for her.

The hedge witch looked at her eyes. “You got lost in the woods aren’t you?”

She nodded.

Of course, she was lying, and if she tells the truth, she’ll get hanged in the gallows for sure.

“Come in.”

It was the crone’s voice. She looked at the crone.

“Hey make me some tea.” Said the crone.

She ran to the kitchen and grabbed a teacup. She smirked. Everything’s going like she was expecting.

She poured hot water and added the potion. She added the tea powder and mixed them slowly.

She placed the poison tea in the tray and gave it to the crone. There is no way the crone will survive the tea. She stole so many things from the coven just to make this. If she would fail, then she can flee to the woods.

She watched the crone sip the tea. She secretly smirked, and then started to run to her room.

“Hey!” Said the hedge witch. “You still have to-“

She hurried to hide in the basement just before the potion activates.

She slammed the door and jumped to the bed. She stacked pillows to help her get out. She opened the window and tries not to outbalance.

“The rain is gone, now I’m gonna escape without anyone know what I have done.”

She ran to the door and stick her ear in it. She can hear the broken stairs squeaking and angry grunts. The hedge witch is coming.

She placed a chair under the doorknob and ran to the stacked pillows she made earlier. She jumped in it, and carefully tries to get out the small window. She saw that there is no roof down there, and she closed her eyes. She jumped down the two-story building, and fall on mud.

She gets up and ran as fast as she can to the treehouse.

Now she can travel to the human world to steal a lucky human’s life.

5 years later

“Karla! We need to go now!” yelled her maid.

“Coming!” She ran to her maid while tying her beautiful white hair.

Maude opened the door of the car and Karla ran straight to it. She entered and closed the door.

“You got all you need?” Maude asked.

She nodded while double-checking the contents of the bag.

Today is the exam for Cambridge’s most prestigious school. And Karla’s father had been there before he became a billionaire.

“We're here.” Said the driver.

She looked at the academy’s gate. A crowd is blocking them to move, and they were stuck.

“Can’t I just walk?” She said, confident.

“No, ma’am.” The driver said.

“Why don’t I? Those kids can, so what about me?” She said. “It’s very unfair.”

Maude looked at her. She was pouting again.

“Fine, you can go,” Maude said. She opened the car’s door and Karla pushed her way out.

She sniffed the outside air. She never felt this before, happiness, and of course; joy. She turned to the kids pushing their way through. She laughed and smiled at the sun. She dropped on the road when someone bumped into her. Tears flow in her eyes, and then she saw a shadow on her back. A hand helped her get up.

She grabbed it and saw the helper’s face. She is taller than her, has violet hair that reflects the sunlight, purple eyes like amethysts.

“I’m sorry,” She said. “I didn’t mean to “

“Oh it’s okay, you helped me get up.” She smiled at her and wiped her tears.

“Did you just cried-“Maude interrupted what the girl was about to say.

“Ma’am, are you okay?” Maude pulled out a napkin from her pocket. She wiped her eyes, and then the violet-haired girl ran away.

“Hey uh, Hey!” Karla tried to catch up with the girl. She followed her but ended up trapped in the crowd.  She can’t stand it, the nasty smell from the kids around her makes her faint.

She covered her nose with a napkin and pushed her way through the crowd. She closed her eyes and heard the murmurs from the crowd. She opened her eyes, and

saw herself inside the academy.

A guard stopped her from walking further.

“What are ya doing here?” the guard asked. He looked at her face and then said. “Karla Allen, are you?”

“Yes.” She said.

“Come in, the examiner’s waiting.” He showed her the way.

The garden of the school caught her attention. Roses and many more flowers decorate the garden. The lawn there looks so good for picnics, and more. Trees are making shade for her to sit and sleep. She can feel at home in here.

She ran to a rose bush and started to count how many are them. She giggled and smiled, at every rose she sees.

“Hey,”

She turned to the speaker, it was the violet-haired girl.

“Hi!” She stands up and smiled at her. She put her hands on her back and giggled.

She smiled back at Karla and waved.

“Uhm, is something wrong?” She asked.

“Yes, uh,” She scratched her head. “Can we be friends?”

She sticks two pointy fingers and blushed.

“Of course! We can!” She asserted.

She smiled and they both laughed.

“Well, oh I’m going now because I have to study for the exam.” She said.

“Oh, okay.”

The violet-haired girl left.

“Oh, shucks! I forgot to ask her name!” faltered Karla.

But it was too late, she is not here anymore.

“Maybe I need to review too!”  She ran to the door of the academy.

The violet-haired girl jumped down from her flying broom and smirked.

“Karla Allen, oh what a rich name she got.” Sneered her.

She walked confidently to a rose bush.

She clenched her fists and her face is filled with anger, only it. And then she suddenly smiled. That girl is the perfect one, and she is sure to steal all that belong to hers. She combed her hair with her fingernails.

“All belong to hers is now mine, only mine.” She pulled out a rosebud from its stem and started to rip a petal.

“I’ll get what she had, I’ll don’t. I’ll get what she had, I’ll don’t.”

She patiently rips every petal. When she ripped the last petal, she made a decision, she will steal everything she had.

“I, Hazel Finn, youngest sorcerer of my town, will seek revenge!” She promised to herself.
