“I will be leaving soon,” Eve announced, leaning at my bedroom door.

“Again?”

This was getting too frequent, there’s a lot of galas I’ve been invited to. And of course I need my wife to tag along.

“Yes, my boss is organizing another ballet competition.”

I looked at her baffled, she knew I could catch her lies. There was no such thing. We’d agreed she would help me, attending events for my public profile and I've already given her what she wants.

“Are your lovers treating you well?” I lowered my voice.

Eve laughed, staring at me. “Don’t be jealous.”

“Well...”

“It’s four months left now,” she calculated, changing the topic.

“Yes.” The last trip Eve had gone to, her choreography event? Was to continue seeing her lover, who’s organizing the event.

“How do you see Wren?”

I stopped typing on my phone, and looked elsewhere. “She’s good, I’m sorry I ended up with your employee.”

“I’m not offended Asher, it’s an open marriage.”
