Noticing the dark circles under Don's eyes, I nodded.

"Okay. I'll drive."

Don froze for a second before his smile widened.

"You still care about me, Dee."

I didn't bother responding and just got straight into the car.

While we were on the road, he powered off his phone right in front of me. The tension in the car was suffocating. After a long stretch of silence, he finally spoke up.

"I had people take the trending posts down. I've looked into it. You weren't the one who posted them. Taylor

Before Don could say anything, I continued, "I chose to marry you back then because I loved you, not because I was desperate for a man. When I divorced you, it was because I no longer loved you."And I'm refusing to get back together with you now for the exact same reason."You don't love me, Don. You don't love Taylor either. You're just addicted to the thrill of novelty."When the novelty wore off with me, you used your guilt toward Taylor as an excuse to stay by her side. Now that she's shown her true colors, you're suddenly interested in me again. Don't you think that's disgusting?"Don's eyes turned red as he shook his head frantically."But I never cheated on you! I swear I didn't!"I chuckled softly."You didn't cheat on me intentionally, but can you honestly say that your heart and mind never strayed? You can't."You used to say that you were a man of principles, and so you needed to honor the promises you'd made to Taylor. Well, let me tell you this now—I have principl

I immediately guessed that it was Don.After giving it some thought, I agreed to see him, and the guards escorted him inside. It'd only been three short months since I'd last seen him, but I almost didn't recognize him. The confident, polished man I once knew was now as unkempt and disheveled as a vagrant. The moment he saw me, though, his eyes lit up."Dee… Dee, I've finally found you! Do you know how long I've been searching for you? How have you been?""I'm doing well," I answered, nodding politely. "Did you need something?"He clearly hadn't expected me to be so distant, and his expression stiffened. But a second later, he plastered another smile back on his face."I'm divorced, Dee. Taylor lied to me. The baby was never mine! Our two families have had a huge falling out, and Taylor had a mental breakdown. Her family committed her to a psychiatric facility!"My parents also think that you were the better daughter-in-law, and they want me to win you back."I didn't have a

I froze for a moment, then glanced down at the paper Taylor had thrown at me. It was indeed a pregnancy test report. She was already more than three months along.Don rushed over, his face drained of color as he scrambled to explain. "Dee, don't listen to her nonsense. I never even slept with her! I swear, I really didn't!"Taylor let out a cold laugh. She pulled out her phone and played a video. Soft, intimate whispers instantly filled the air.The timestamp showed that it had been around the final months of my pregnancy.Taylor chimed in smugly."When you were in your last trimester, I used my 'Let's Go On a Trip' coupon, and Don took me to the desert to watch the stars."There were a lot of tourists there that night. We had a bonfire party together, drinking and celebrating. I slipped something into Don's drink that night, and we slept together."But it's okay. It doesn't matter even if you two deny it. Once the baby is born, I'll go make a scene at the Petty residence and

The tension in the car was suffocating. After a long stretch of silence, he finally spoke up."I had people take the trending posts down. I've looked into it. You weren't the one who posted them. Taylor was the one who posted everything herself just to force my hand and make me marry her."I know I've given in to her ridiculous demands repeatedly over the last few years, but that was only because I'd made her a promise."We grew up together, and she was indeed my first love. Back then, we broke up because I refused to go abroad with her. I always felt like I owed her. So when she came back with all those coupons, I couldn't bring myself to turn her away."I knew you'd be angry. I knew you'd

Frowning, I caught Taylor's wrist before she could slap me. Then, I swung back without hesitation and smacked her across the face. She stumbled backward and hit the floor, grimacing in pain."You dare hit me?" she snarled."Don, you have to stand up for me! Denise put on such a good show in front of you, acting all selfless and like she didn't want anything from you. I actually thought she'd changed her ways and was done making a fuss!"But she went behind our backs, took screenshots of my social media account, and posted them online! Everyone on the internet is tearing me apart now! Someone even doxxed me and blasted my business to everyone I know!"I got fired, and my parents even want to disown me! I don't want to live anymore, Don!"With that, she sprinted into the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and pressed it against her neck.Don rushed over, trying to stop her."Have you lost your mind?" he barked.I took the opportunity to glance at my phone. Sure enough, things had explode

Don didn't say a single word on the drive home. The rain outside grew heavier and heavier, blurring the entire cityscape. But the path in my heart had never been clearer. The moment we opened the door, the luggage I had already packed was sitting right in the middle of the living room.Don paused for a beat but said nothing. He walked straight into the kitchen, throwing back over his shoulder, "I noticed you had so much to drink earlier but barely ate anything. I'll go make you some soup."I was a little flabbergasted.Don had never cooked for me before, not even to fry an egg. Yet, I'd seen him do it countless times in Taylor's social media posts. She had a "Cook Me Something" coupon, an "I Want Some Soup" coupon, and a "Make Me Dinner" coupon. Meanwhile, I had nothing. And now, all of a sudden, Don wanted to make me something. But I had zero appetite.Watching him disappear into the kitchen as if he were running away, I didn't stop him and just headed to the bathroom instead.
