Chapter 98

Author: Maureen Green
Facing the cameras, Aspen carried herself with confidence and grace, showing no sign of embarrassment despite the personal nature of the questions. It was as if none of this had anything to do with her.

Colin had always wanted to see this composed and professional side of her. Yet, when he met her cold, emotionless gaze, he couldn't help but feel a growing sense of irritation.

He had hated how she focused all her attention on him in the past, but now that she seemed completely indifferent, he found it even harder to accept.

"Mrs. Fuller, what exactly is the relationship between Ms. Sanders and Mr. Fuller?" a reporter asked.

"Ms. Sanders is just Ms. Sanders, and I am Mrs. Fuller. Colin is right here beside me—isn't that answer enough?" Aspen replied with a soft smile.

She took Colin's hand, interlacing their fingers in front of the cameras and proudly displaying their wedding rings. In reality, Aspen's original ring had been discarded long ago, and the one she wore now was a ch

"Aren gave up Aetheris Group for you. Do you think he made the right call?" Carlos asked suddenly.Aspen paused for a moment before replying, "Mr. Jefferson Senior, I respect Aren's decision. And I intend to prove with my actions that he didn't make a mistake."A hint of amusement flickered in Carlos' eyes. "Good. Very good. Aren clearly has an eye for people."He set down his teacup and looked at Aspen with a gentler gaze. "Ms. Nicholls, the market's been quite unstable lately. I wonder—what's your take on the new energy sector?" Aspen straightened slightly, her tone steady. "Mr. Jefferson Senior, new energy is definitely the direction for the future. But right now, the sector is overheated. Too many companies are expanding blindly and neglecting core tech development.""Oh?" Carlos's interest piqued. "So what do you think should be done?""I believe there are three key areas to focus on—technology, the supply chain, and global policy trends," Aspen replied calmly.Aren's uncl

On the day of the dinner, Aspen wore an elegant gown and walked through the gates of Jefferson Manor with her arm linked through Aren's. As soon as they stepped into the living room, she felt several scrutinizing gazes on her."Is that Aren's girlfriend? She looks pretty average." Another voice whispered, "I heard she's the CEO of some small company. I wonder if she's good enough for Aren."The whispers came from all directions, but Aspen maintained her composure, smiling politely through it all."Aren!" A bright, familiar voice rang out as Yvonne strode over, cheerfully grabbing hold of Aren's other arm. "Do you remember when we used to play hide-and-seek as kids and you always hid behind that old oak tree?" Aren gently pulled his arm free. "Yvonne, it's been a while." "And this must be Ms. Nicholls?" Yvonne turned to Aspen, a flash of disdain flickering in her eyes. She added, "Aren never liked these kinds of events. I was always the one who convinced him to show up. Ms. Nic

Colin had no time to worry about these things. There was still no word from Adrian, and now Cygnus Tech had run into trouble. He had to find a new breakthrough, fast. ...Meanwhile, in a quiet suburban villa, a sharp female voice shattered the silence."Aren's bringing his girlfriend home for the family dinner?" she repeated Nigel's words, her voice trembling faintly. "Yes, Ms. Stevens. Mr. Jefferson Senior specifically requested that Ms. Aspen Nicholls be invited." Yvonne Stevens set her wine glass down, her face instantly going pale. "Aspen Nicholls?""Yes. She's the Fuller Group's CEO," Nigel replied.Yvonne scoffed. "Fuller Group? You mean that company that almost went bankrupt?"Nigel paused for a moment before answering, "Ms. Stevens, Ms. Nicholls has been doing exceptionally well lately. Mr. Jefferson Senior is quite pleased with her." "Pleased?" Yvonne turned around, her eyes darkening. "Aren gave up Aetheris Group for her, and now he's bringing her home?" Nig

Aren had just returned to his apartment when his phone rang."Mr. Aren, Mr. Jefferson Senior would like you to bring Ms. Nicholls to tomorrow's family dinner." The butler's respectful voice came through the phone. Aren's grip on the phone tightened slightly. "Grandfather said this himself?""Yes, Mr. Jefferson Senior specifically emphasized that Ms. Nicholls must be invited."After hanging up, Aren stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing out at the night. He knew Carlos was going to test Aspen.Aren arrived at Aspen's office early the next morning. "Pen, there's something I need to tell you."Aspen looked up and, noticing Aren's serious expression, set down her documents. "What is it?""Grandfather wants to invite you to tomorrow's family dinner."Aspen's fingers trembled slightly. "Family dinner?""Yes." Aren took her hand. "He wants to meet you."Aspen was quiet for a moment. "Aren, I...""Don't worry," Aren said gently. "I'll be there with you."Aspen took a deep b

At that moment, Aspen felt her heart stir with emotion. Aren no longer bothered to hide his excitement and swept her up in his arms."My grandfather has always been stubborn. There's no one else in this world who could have changed his mind but you, Pen!"Aspen finally processed what was happening and wrapped her arms tightly around Aren. Caught up in the moment, the two couldn't help but kiss.…Colin stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows of his office. His phone screen went dark, but he dialed Adrian's number again. Yet, there was still no answer."Damn it!" He hurled his phone onto the couch.Zac entered the room and, seeing this scene, a barely perceptible hint of calculation flashed in his eyes.He approached Colin and said, "Don't worry. Mr. Caldwell might be handling other business.""Other business?" Colin scoffed. "Cygnus Tech is finished, and he can't even offer an explanation!"Zac handed him a cup of coffee. "A temporary setback doesn't mean anything. Mr. Caldwell

Aren had just escorted Aspen back to her apartment when his phone rang."Mr. Aren, Mr. Jefferson Senior requests that you come home."Hearing the familiar voice, Aren simply gave a brief acknowledgment and hung up.…"Grandfather, you wanted to see me?" Aren entered the study in Jefferson Manor to find his grandfather standing by the window, his silhouette slightly stooped."Aren, sit." Carlos turned around and gestured for him to take a seat. "You've handled the Fuller Group situation quite well recently."Aren was slightly surprised: "You know about all that?""Business matters don't escape my notice." Carlos picked up his teacup. "Aspen's stronger than I expected.""She's always been exceptional." Aren's tone was calm, but pride flickered in his eyes."Exceptional?" Carlos chuckled. "When you gave up Aetheris Group for her, I thought you'd lost your head to emotion.""Grandfather, I've never regretted it.""I can see that now." Carlos set down his cup. "For Fuller Group t
