"My mother really can't hold on much longer!"

Kieran's pupils contracted slightly, as if my words had stung him.

But the next second, he gripped my chin forcefully and let out a cold laugh: "I see you're really addicted to this act. We know exactly what happened that day. Sera already said there was just a dummy tied to that stake. It was bad enough you caused a scene that day, but now you're still here making trouble. Do you think we're all idiots? I'm telling you, right now nothing is more important than Sera!"

After hearing Kieran's words, the hesitation on Owen's face disappeared. He continued to punch me hard in the stomach several times.

I trembled all over from the pain.

The aftereffects of losing so much blood from kowtowing were kicking in. My vision was getting more and more blurry.

I suddenly remembered.

Before, Kieran loved me so tenderly. He never let anyone who hurt me get away with it.

But now he and Owen, for the sake of another she-wolf, were disregarding my mother's life and treating me like this.

My vision kept going black. I finally couldn't hold on anymore and fainted.

When I woke up again, it was already dark.

The hospital room was completely empty.

I stared blankly for a moment, then panicked and ran downstairs.

In room 404.

My mother was already gone. She just lay there, with only that medical apprentice in the room.

The apprentice's face was full of sympathy: "Your mother kept calling your name before she passed, wanting to see you one last time. I searched the entire healing center and finally found you unconscious upstairs."

Tears fell unconsciously, and endless hatred wrapped around my heart.

Not only did Kieran refuse to let the healers save my mother, he also caused me to miss seeing her for the last time.

I hated them!

I went through the motions of handling my mother's death certificate in a daze.

Returning to the house where my mother had lived, I didn't even turn on the lights. Looking at all the familiar items in the room, I felt so strange, because the most important person was no longer there.

I packed up her belongings with tears in my eyes.

I remembered that after our mating ceremony, I wanted to bring her to live with us, but she was afraid of making things difficult for me and refused.

I loved apple pie, and she would always make it for me without complaint every time.

Even though I became the Luna, she still worried about me constantly, afraid I wasn't eating or sleeping well.

After Owen was born, she came by every day, afraid we wouldn't take good care of him.

She gave us all her love.

But in return, she was tied to a stake and burned alive.

After cremating my mother, I found a burial plot surrounded by her favorite clearheartflowers.

I held the urn and looked at the cold tombstone, tears streaming down my face.

I could only accept this reality - my last remaining family member in this world was dead.

"Mom, I'm sorry. It's my fault. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have suffered like this."

"I was blind. I didn't see Kieran's true face."

"Isn't this our Luna? Why are you crying so sadly?"

I looked up in shock.

Sera was walking over, leading a dirty, mangy dog.

"You didn't really think this was my pet dog, did you? I'm allergic to dog fur. I hate dogs the most. Those words were all lies. Just for one little lie, your mate and son treated you like that. Do you still have the nerve to hold the Luna position? Look at your mother - because of you, after working hard her whole life, she ended up burned alive."

I stood up. My weakened wolf erupted with tremendous power from anger, and without a word, I slapped her across the face.

She was just an Omega and staggered back a step from my hit.

But she casually wiped the blood from her lip without caring.

She let out a cold laugh.

She glanced at the tombstone that didn't have any engraving yet and walked toward me with the attitude of a victor.

Suddenly she pulled out silver powder from behind her back and sprinkled it on my mother's urn. The urn immediately began to corrode.

To prevent my mother's ashes from being damaged, I endured the agony of the silver powder's corrosion and wiped it off the urn.

My hands were even burned by the silver powder until the white bone showed through.

But I still held the damaged urn in my arms like it was a precious treasure.

Sera suddenly walked closer to me.

I watched her warily.

She curved her lips in a meaningful smile.

I looked with complete indifference at the travel-worn father and son before me.They looked like they hadn't slept in weeks. Kieran's usually pristine Alpha appearance was gone - his clothes wrinkled, his hair disheveled, dark circles under his bloodshot eyes. Owen looked even worse, his small frame trembling as he stood behind his father."Aria..." Kieran's voice cracked as he spoke my name.I felt nothing. Not even a flicker of the love I once felt for him."What are you doing here?"Kieran's eyes immediately reddened as he tried to step closer. "Aria, I'm sorry. I know I did wrong. Please forgive me. You're my true mate. I've already given Sera the punishment she deserved. Now that you're back, please don't leave again."I could smell the desperation rolling off him in waves. His Alpha pheromones were all wrong - weak, pleading, broken."The punishment she deserved?" I laughed bitterly. "What about the punishment you deserve?"Owen suddenly lunged forward, trying to grab my hand. "

Owen knelt beside his father and made the same praying gesture. His small hands clasped together as tears streamed down his soot-covered face.Mom.I don't want anyone else to be my mother anymore.I don't want any other family.Dad and I have already avenged all the wrongs you suffered. We burned the woman who hurt you, just like she burned Grandma. Please come back, okay?Owen misses you so much it hurts to breathe. But at that time, I was already far away in the Northern Snow Pack.I couldn't hear a single word of this father and son's desperate repentance.I was sitting in my cozy pastry shop, watching the falling snow through the window. The gentle white flakes reminded me to let go of the past and embrace the present.I told myself not to think about the old days anymore. I should start a new life here, for myself and for my mother's memory.I had used the precious gemstones I'd brought to buy this charming little shop in the heart of the pack territory. My days were simple but

Owen's small face twisted with rage as he glared at Sera. His young voice carried a venom that chilled the air."If you hadn't repeatedly driven a wedge between me and my mother, how could she have left me!""Every single day you whispered poison in our ears! Every single day you made us doubt her!""I used to think you were kind and gentle, but you're nothing but a lying snake!"The father and son's attitude plummeted drastically.Gone was any trace of the protection and care they had once shown her. Their eyes held nothing but pure hatred and disgust.Sera burst into maniacal laughter, her eyes filled only with the madness of someone facing death. Her face was streaked with tears and blood, but she laughed as if she'd heard the funniest joke in the world."You father and son are truly ridiculous! If you hadn't stopped caring about her, how would I have had the chance to switch them out!""Don't you get it? I only succeeded because you were already failing her!""You want to blame me?

"Forever?""Forever."Kieran closed his eyes in complete despair. He hadn't expected me to make such a decisive choice, though he should have.He wasn't afraid of me fighting or making a scene - he was afraid of me having no reaction at all.And that's exactly what was happening. I had moved beyond anger into cold indifference.Yes, he had killed my mother and desecrated her grave. He was truly the greatest villain in the world. The irony wasn't lost on him that Blue Note Bar was where he and I first met.Where he had fallen in love with my laugh, my kindness, my beautiful soul.So let it end where it all began. After a sleepless night spent staring at photos of happier times, red-eyed Kieran brought Owen to Blue Note Bar.They looked like survivors of some terrible disaster - hollow-eyed, broken, aged beyond their years.I was already sitting there waiting for them, and the sight of me nearly brought Kieran to his knees.I looked... different. Healthier. There was a glow about me that

Kieran's hands trembled as he opened the memory crystal, his wolf instincts already sensing that whatever was inside would destroy him completely. The first video loaded, and his world cracked apart.Inside the memory crystal was everything - all of Sera's provocations against me, captured in secret recordings and hidden camera footage.Video after video of Sera mocking me when she thought no one was watching."That stupid Luna actually thinks Kieran loves her," Sera laughed to herself in one clip. "He's already mine. She just doesn't know it yet."Another video showed Sera's medical records, clearly displaying her severe allergy to wolf fur. The documents were stamped and verified by three different healers. She couldn't possibly keep a pet dog. She couldn't even be in the same room as one without breaking out in hives. The most damning footage was from the night my mother died.Sera grinning viciously as she directed the Gammas to switch out the training dummy for my mother."Make su

The crisp sound of a slap rang out, echoing through the medical center.Sera staggered backward, her hand flying to her burning cheek in shock.Never, in all the months of manipulation, had Kieran ever laid a hand on her.Kieran's face was carved from ice, his Alpha aura pressing down on her like a physical weight."You better not have lied to me, Sera. Because if I find out you have, I'll make you pay back a thousandfold!""I'll make you experience every moment of pain you caused my family!"Owen stepped forward, and despite his young age, he radiated the same intimidating aura as his father. The resemblance between them had never been more obvious."Aunt Sera, if I find out everything you said was lies, then however you bullied my mother, I'll bully you back the same way!""I'm not a little kid anymore. I know what real cruelty looks like now."Sera stumbled backward, covering her stinging cheek with both hands. She realized things weren't developing the way she'd expected at all.Wh
