Curtis turned away, simmering with anger. "If you know your place so well, you should know to stay put. I've paid for your education over the last few years, so until you pay back your debt, you're not going anywhere!"

He left, slamming the door behind him.

The sound of the door slamming made Margot tremble.

She lay on the bed limply, tears blurring her sight.
