Chapter 19: Learning To Open Up.

Elizabeth’s POV

“The bitch’s finally cracked, she’s gone crazy!” Not like their claims are false at all, but I think it’s far worse than that as she begins to drive her nails into the boy’s face, unflinching from his desperate struggles and cries to be set free.

It feels unreal, the speed she quips and the fluid movements of her body as she attacks her assailants. Like watching a superhero action movie, I’m stuck in place, maybe a bit in awe as Elaine renders each boy immobile one after the other. Their cries are deafening and the curdling snaps of bones rattle me but it amazes me, after watching such an animalistic display, I feel no ounce of fear for her.

Panting, chest rising and falling with unsteadiness, Elaine remains hunched over as she attempts to catch her breath. All around us, chairs and tables were broken and turned over...I gulp, finding the strength in my limbs to move but my body seems paralyzed from fright to budge a muscle.

“Elaine...” At least my voice doe
