Dream's POV

Rainwater dripped from my hair as I stood there, shivering in front of Gloss’s apartment. He stared at me like I’d crawled out of some memory that refused to die, his lips parting, confusion painting his face.

He didn’t move. Neither did I. The thunder filled the silence between us, echoing the chaos in my head.

“Can I come in?” I asked again, my voice low.

For a moment, I thought he’d shut the door. He didn’t. Instead, he stepped aside wordlessly, letting me pass.

The warmth of his apartment hit me like a wall. I kicked off my soaked shoes, dripping onto the floor. My jacket clung to my skin, the rainwater pooling at my feet.

He didn’t offer a towel. Didn’t ask why I was there. He just crossed his arms and stared, waiting.

I couldn’t blame him. I’d earned that silence.

I took a deep breath and forced the words out. “I investigated everything.”

His eyes flickered.

“I know about the fake reports, the falsified accounts, the altered timestamps,” I continued, my ton

  • LEVEL UP MY COLD CEO {MxM}   CHAPTER 129: THE BUSINESS TRIP.

Gloss POV The flight to the luxury resort should have been straightforward, but of course, in our world, nothing ever stayed simple. Dream and I were booked for a corporate summit with some of the company’s high-level partners. Normally, it would have been boring, panels, speeches, networking, but this trip already had tension written all over it. I kept catching myself glancing at Dream, noting how calm he seemed, while I felt like a storm was building in my chest. We arrived at the resort, and the lobby practically shimmered with marble and chandeliers, the kind of place that screamed money, power, and old-school exclusivity. I felt slightly out of place in my tailored suit, even though Dream, as always, looked perfectly at ease, exuding that calm dominance that made everyone else in the lobby either gawk or step aside. I caught a few whispers as we passed by, eyes flicking between us like we were some power couple the tabloids would kill to write about. That added an unspoken pre

  • LEVEL UP MY COLD CEO {MxM}   CHAPTER 128: TOO CLOSE.

Dream's POV Gloss was still smiling when the words left his lips. “A kiss,” he’d said so casually, so playfully, that for a second I thought I misheard him. But no, he meant it. That was his idea of a reward. And maybe, for a heartbeat, I wanted to give it. He stood there waiting, eyes wide and teasing, mouth slightly parted as if daring me to move closer. I didn’t even realize I’d leaned in until I caught the faint scent of his cologne, sweet but grounded, wrapping itself around me like a quiet temptation. For a split second, time stilled. The faint hum of the city faded, the lights around my penthouse dimmed against the reflection in his eyes. Then, clarity hit like a cold rush. I stopped just short of his lips, my breath brushing against his skin. Gloss didn’t move. He blinked once, slowly, and whispered, “So… this is how CEOs pay out bonuses now?” I exhaled sharply and stepped back, trying to ignore the way my pulse jumped. “That’s not funny.” “It was a little funny,” he sa

  • LEVEL UP MY COLD CEO {MxM}   CHAPTER 127: THE REWARD.

Gloss POV The moment Dream’s words left his mouth…“Then let me earn it”...something in my chest loosened. It wasn’t forgiveness, not yet, but it was something close to it, like breathing after holding your breath for too long. His hand was still around mine, steady, grounding, and for a long second, neither of us moved. The storm outside had softened to a drizzle. The city beyond my window was a blur of gold and blue lights, like it had decided to listen quietly for once. Dream sat close, closer than I remembered him ever being when things were good between us. His hair was still damp, the collar of his shirt slightly undone. There was something disarming about seeing him like this, not the CEO everyone feared, but a man trying, clumsy and sincere. “Then let me earn it,” he’d said. I didn’t answer, but I didn’t pull away either. When he finally stood, I felt his hand slip from mine, and that stupid loss hit harder than I expected. “Get some rest,” he said softly. “You’ve had a l

Gloss POV Suspension. The word hit harder than I thought it would. When HR called me in that morning, I’d already guessed what was coming. The whispers in the hallway had grown louder, the stares sharper. Everyone avoided me as if betrayal were contagious. I sat through the meeting in silence, listening to them talk about “ongoing investigations” and “temporary leave until further notice.” I walked out of the building carrying nothing but my access badge, deactivated, of course, and a box of my things. Pens, sticky notes, a half-dead plant, and the ridiculous little bobblehead Dream once joked looked like him. I laughed when I first got it. Now it felt like a curse. The security guards at the entrance looked at me with pity. My name tag flashed gray as I stepped out, marking the official end of my access. Just like that, I was out. The city outside felt colder than usual. People walked past, umbrellas open, shoes splashing through puddles. I pulled my jacket tighter, my box hu

  • LEVEL UP MY COLD CEO {MxM}   CHAPTER 124: THE SABOTAGE.

Gloss POV The next morning began like any other, with the sound of notifications buzzing before sunrise. My body begged for five more minutes of peace, but the company’s internal alerts had other plans. I groaned, grabbed my tablet, and rubbed my eyes. Then I froze. The headline at the top of the screen blinked in red: ‘BREAKING NEWS: DREAM CORPORATION EXECUTIVE UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR CORPORATE THEFT.’ And underneath that, my name. My picture. My job title. “What the…” I sat upright. Dozens of articles flooded the feed, all written within the last hour. Each one claimed I’d been funneling funds from Dream Corporation into a private offshore account. The numbers were ridiculous, the evidence shaky, but the headlines didn’t care about that. The comments were already a battlefield. Some called me a fraud, others said I’d slept my way to the top. I wanted to laugh at how creative they were, but my hands were shaking too much. My phone buzzed again. It was a message from PR. > P
