Leila ushered Karen out of the apartment with a fake smile, she went back to the living room and sat down, for a minute she forgot that she was not alone. Gavin took long strides to where she was sitting, if she was correct, he looked angry.

“Has Adele come to see you?” He asked with gritted teeth. Her first instinct was to lie, to tell him no, Adele had made it clear she did not want Gavin to know. But Leila wasn’t afraid of her. Not exactly. The woman was dangerous, yes—but in a sort of way that almost amused her.

“Yes, but she said not to tell”

Gavin eyes were bloodshot, “And you listened to her? Leila you are an adult for Christ’s sake. Why did you not tell me?” When did she come to see you and was it a neutral location? Why did you even go? Fuck! I have so many questions”

    A gentle tap woke Leila up from her sleep, she felt tired like she had not been sleeping well, it took a second for her to remember that she was in Gavin’s car and they were supposed to have breakfast.
