CHAPTER 4

(Elisa's POV)

It had only been a week since the envoys visited but I was already being asked to move into the Greyhound's estate to assist in wedding preparations. I didn't even get to bid my father a proper goodbye before I was whisked away by the drive. Upon arrival I was greeted and received by the estate's staffs, not a single family member in sight. I was silently ushered in by the maids. I tried making conversation. “So…where are all the family members?” But my attempt was met with hostile glares and more silence. After being settled in my room I decided to give myself a tour of the estate since no one offered. Just as I had made my way to the west wing, voices erupted causing me to seek the source of the commotion only to find Mr Greyhound yelling at Damian whilst he laid in bed, disheveled with an unfamiliar woman by his side.

I didn't notice when my lips move on impulse. “Disgusting” I voiced, my voice louder than intended. All eyes turned to me in shock as they hadn't anticipated my arrival. “Elisa!” Damian called out from the comfort of another woman's arms, his lips smudged with kiss marks. “What are you doing here?” His asked with a guilty expression on his face. “It's not what you think…I”

“SHUT UP!!!” Mr Greyhound interrupted before turning to me with dissatisfaction written all over his face. “Didn't your father ever teach you not to but into other people's business? Don't involve yourself in matters that don't concern you. Now leave” he commanded, shoving me out the door, leaving no room for resistance as he slammed the door right in my face. I stormed off in annoyance. “Despicable!!!” I screamed internally as I violently kicked an inbuilt bookshelf that seemed carelessly tucked away by the end of a dark hallway. Before I could even backtrack and understand how I had gotten here, a crick echoed across the hallway as the bookshelf opened up, revealing a secret passage hidden within the walls.

My curiosity took root as I stepped into the passage, the door slamming shut behind me. I had only taken a few steps when I was ambushed by a group of maids. “You're the new girl sent by madam Chasity right?” Before I could even respond and clarify the misunderstanding, I was dragged along with them as we approached a strange door within the passage. She took out a rusted key, unlocking the door and shoving me inside. “Remember, success in pleasing the young master will be rewarded but his dissatisfaction could cost you your life” and just like that, she left.

I had been abandoned in a pitch black room without a single explanation, or instructions on what to do next. I stumbled my way through the room, barely able to see anything. I stubbed my toe on the bedframe causing me to stumbled backwards, unknowingly bumping into what felt like a man's chest. “Who are you?” I questioned, readying myself to attack. “So you're the new girl Chasity sent? Is that right?” He voiced, grabbing me by the waist, pulling us closer together. “Sir, there seems to have been a misunderstanding, I'm not…”

“Shuuu, be quiet” he interrupted as his hands roamed freely around my body, caressing my curves as he spun me around, burying his face in the crook of my neck, pressing his chest against my back whilst still holding me tightly, gently fondling my breasts. “You have a nice figure” he whispered softly in my ear as gentle kisses followed suite, trailing down my neck. Without changing our position, he reached forward and claimed my lips in a deep kiss that left my knees weak. “Wait, stop” I spoke, abruptly ending the kiss. “I'm really not the girl you're…” I paused as his next words escaped his mouth in form of an order. “Get on your knees” he commanded, gradually undressing himself as he pulled off his belt, forcing me to my knees as he rapped the leather belt loosely around my neck. “Go on” he urged, tugging roughly at the belt, waiting expectantly for me to take the next step. Feeling hesitant, I thought of refusing until I recalled the image of Damian in bed with that woman. “It's only fair to have some fun as well” I muttered to myself, ready to leave my dignity behind as I cheerfully reached for the bulge in his pants, letting my fingers roam wild as I pulled out his already hardened d**k, teasing the tip with my tongue as I marvelled at his size. “Suck it” he ordered whilst grabbing a firm hold of my hair, yanking my head backwards. “Suck it and don't stop until I tell you to” feeling amused, I obliged, preparing to demonstrate my skills. His muffed groans filled the room as he repeatedly thrusted into my mouth, rocking my head back and forth, his grip on my hair tightening even more. I kept going until my eyes began to dim from lack of oxygen as he was ludged deeply into my throat. “Stop” I muttered inaudibly, desperate to breathe. “What? Can't handle it a little rough?” He mocked, yanking me up by my hair, pinning me against the wall. “i have no intention of being gentle with you, so if you can't sit pretty and take it like a good girl, then you're welcome to leave, but making that decision might cost you your life, because I don't like it very much when women walk out on me, especially during intimacy” “so…what's it going to be?” I smirked lightly as I answered his question by shoving him to the bed. “Then it seems I have no choice but to please you tonight, you can use me however you see fit and I'll ensure to ride you like my life depends on it” I responded, my clothes slowly falling to the floor layer by layer as I got on top of him, smiling in satisfaction as I buckled his belt around his arms, restraining him to the bed as I positioned myself, ready to take full control.

The bathroom door was closed.Elisa leaned over the sink, gripping the porcelain so tightly her knuckles had gone white. Her reflection stared back at her—pale, hollow, eyes rimmed red. Sweat clung to her temples, damp strands of newly dyed black hair sticking to her cheeks. Her stomach twisted violently. She barely managed to turn before retching again, her body convulsing as bile burned her throat. The sound echoed too loudly in the quiet space. She coughed, gasping, eyes watering as she straightened with trembling hands.“Pull yourself together,” she whispered hoarsely. For days now, every meal had betrayed her. Her body, weakened from months of starvation, rejected nourishment like poison. Eat—vomit. Eat—vomit. Over and over again. She rinsed her mouth, pressing a shaking hand to her aching stomach, breathing through the nausea until it dulled. That was when she heard a different voice, not that of the assistant and receptionist she had met earlier on. This one sounded more mascul

Darkness swallowed her.The gunshot echoed endlessly, louder and louder, until it became—“Ma'am. Mrs. Rowan.”Her eyes flew open.“Elisa—we’ve arrived.”She gasped sharply, hand flying to her chest. Her heart was racing violently, her breathing uneven, shallow. For a moment, she couldn’t move. She was soaked in cold sweat, her hair clinging to her temples, her hands trembling uncontrollably. The driver turned slightly in his seat, concern flickering across his face.“Are you alright, ma’am?”She swallowed hard, blinking rapidly as the image of Leonard’s smile, the gun, the alley, all dissolved into the dim interior of the car.“…Yes,” she whispered hoarsely. “I’m fine.”A dream.Just a dream. She pressed her fingers into her palms, grounding herself, forcing her breath to slow. Leonard wasn’t here. He hadn’t found her. She was safe. She had been safe for three months.Still, it took effort to open the car door. The towering building loomed before her, glass and steel reaching into th

Three months had passed.Three months since Elisa had crossed the gates of Rowan’s villa.Three months since she had last stepped into the outside world. The days blurred together inside those walls—quiet, heavy, suffocating. Curtains were always drawn. Doors always locked. Footsteps always made her flinch. Even sunlight felt dangerous, like it could betray her location to the wrong eyes. She hadn’t left. Not once. Not for air.Not for walks. Not for freedom.Fear had become her second skin. The phone rang.Elisa stared at it for a long time before answering.“…Hello?”“Elisa.” Rowan’s voice came through, calm but firm. “You didn’t eat again, did you?”She swallowed. “I wasn’t hungry.”“You haven’t been hungry for three months,” he replied quietly. She said nothing.“I want you to come have lunch with me,” Rowan said. “At my office.”Her heart dropped.“No.” The word came out sharp, instinctive. “I can’t.”“Why?”“You know why,” she whispered. “I don’t go out.”“Elisa—”“I don’t leave

For a moment, Damian didn’t move.He simply stared at her as though the words had struck him physically.“…What?” he whispered.Elisa sat rigid on the edge of the bed, her hands folded tightly in her lap, fingers trembling so badly she had to press them together to keep them still. Her eyes were lowered, her shoulders hunched inward like she was bracing for impact.Damian took one step toward her.“I—what did you say?” he asked again, louder this time, disbelief sharpening his voice. “Elisa, what did you just say?”Before she could answer, he rushed forward and grabbed her arm.His grip was firm—too sudden. She flinched violently. Her breath hitched, eyes widening in instinctive terror.Damian froze instantly.“I—I’m sorry—!” He released her at once, hands lifting in surrender. “God—I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to grab you like that. I just—I thought I misheard you.”He swallowed hard, running a hand through his hair, pacing once before stopping in front of her again—this time keeping a c

  • LOVE BENEATH RIVALRY    CHAPTER 81

A week had passed.Seven days since Elisa had woken up in a strange bed, in a strange house, with the ghost of death still clinging to her skin.Seven days of quiet. The house Damian lived in was nothing like the Greyhound estate. It was large, yes—clearly expensive—but it didn’t feel like a fortress. There were no armed guards standing at every corner, no suffocating silence laced with threat. Sunlight streamed freely through wide windows. The walls were painted in warm, neutral tones. Everything felt… lived in.Safe.And yet, safety was something Elisa still didn’t know how to exist inside of.She spent most of her days in one of the guest bedrooms—her room now—sitting by the window or curled up on the bed, lost somewhere between memories and exhaustion. Damian never forced her to talk. Never demanded explanations. He moved around her carefully, as if afraid a single wrong step might shatter her.Their relationship changed slowly, cautiously.Every morning, without fail, Damian brou

Leonard sat alone in his home office, the world reduced to silence and soft breathing. The room was vast, lined with dark mahogany shelves filled with leather-bound volumes and framed oil paintings—artifacts of power, wealth, and history. Heavy curtains filtered the afternoon light into a warm amber glow, casting elongated shadows across the polished floor. Normally, the room felt cold, suffocating. A place where orders were issued and lives were ended with a flick of his wrist. But today, it was different.Cradled carefully in his arms was a small bundle wrapped in pale blue fabric. His son.Leonard’s grip was firm yet strangely gentle, one hand supporting the infant’s head, the other curled protectively around his tiny back. His posture—so often rigid, predatory—had softened. His shoulders were relaxed. His breathing slow. The baby stirred slightly, making a small, content sound, and Leonard instinctively adjusted his hold, his thumb brushing against the child’s cheek with an unfami
