(Elisa's POV)

“Do you dare harm my great grandson in my presence Leonard?”

All eyes instinctively turned to the direction of the approaching figure. “Grandma!” Leonard exclaimed. “What're you doing here, shouldn't you already be having breakfast by now?” He voiced, his once disdainful tone showing concern.

“You expect me to sit and enjoy a meal while the life of my precious great grandson is being threatened by my unruly grandson.” she retorted, her brows deeply furrowing as she assessed the situation at hand. We looked eyes, her cold gaze lingering a little longer than expected as she then turned to Damian, sharing a knowing look with him before speaking. “I see” she voiced whilst glaring daggers at Leonard. “you should be ashamed of yourself” she continued, her voice taking an even firmer tone as her gaze once again shifted to me. “Causing a dispute between family members as a result of your incompetence, disgraceful. It seems your not just devoid of manner but common human decency as well”. I stared in confusion as she continued blaming me for everything that happened. “How am I to blame for any of this? My only mistake was…” “silence!!!” She interrupted, abruptly cutting me off. “How dare you talk back to your elder in such a rude manner? Did no one ever teach you to remain quiet when a person on higher authority speaks? It seems you truly can't fill the void of a mother in a child's life. Your father failed in his duties by raising such an unfilial daughter.” my anger boiled over at the mention of my parents, leading me to speak freely without the smallest sense of decorum. “That's rich coming from someone who raised a murderer, or have you forgotten? It's your son that killed my mother in the first place. Maybe if you had raised him any better I wouldn't be so unfilial.”

Her eyes widened upon hearing my words. “INSOLENT!!!” She yelled, clenching her chest firmly as she pointed her cane at me. “Take this vixen away now!!!” She exclaimed, ordering the maids to dragged me out. “Take her to the ancestral hall, she's to kneel there for 12 hours without any food or water and she’s not, under any circumstances permitted to leave until her punishment is over, not a second less”

“No, please. Great grandma she's already severely injured, we should have a doctor treat her injuries first. Please just forgive her this once.”Damian pleaded, urging her to excuse my behavior.

“Damian, are you refusing my orders? It seems you've truly been possessed by this vixen.” She spat, her anger even further enraged by Damian's intervention. “Maids!!! Take her away now. You have my permission to discipline her if she attempts resisting”. The maids then proceeded to grab me by force, prying me away from Damian. “Let me go!!!” I kicked and screamed but it was to no avail.

Damian tried intervening once more only to be met with an open threat. “If you say another word in favor of that insolent girl, I'll have her punishment double.” Damian, in fear of worsening the situation, admitted defeated. No longer faced with resistance from Damian, her mood improved. “Now, you should come with me so we can tend to your wound before it gets infected” she continued, forcing Damian away with her. “Oh, before I forget. Leonard, I'll be expecting a visit from you in an hours time, you have a lot of explaining to do” and with the see turned and left while I was violently dragged all the way to the ancestral hall, where I was roughly shoved to the ground by the maids. “How dare you?!!!” I retorted, in an act of resistance. “Kneel” the head maid commanded. I refused, helping myself up instead. Unsatisfied with my refusal she signaled the rest of the maids to hold me down and force me to my knees.

“Get your hands off me!!!” I demanded whilst actively trying to shake them off.

The head maids Impatience took root as she stormed up to me, striking me down with a crisp slap that echoed loudly across the hall. “I was given permission by madam to discipline you if necessary, so I'd suggest you stop resisting and just accept your punishment. The sooner you begin, the sooner it comes to an end.” the head maid voiced, requesting the maids to release their hold on me. “I feel pity for you, That's the only reason why I'll bother warning you this once, your willful nature in a household like this can get you killed or severely hurt, so stop trying to stand out by opposing those of higher authority, submit to them for a change, then maybe things won't be as bad for you.” … “and one final thing, avoid the young master Leonard at all costs, you're safer remaining by master Damian's side. Is that understood?” she questioned, her expression hinting at genuine concern. No longer having the strength to resist, I nodded in agreement, finally accepting my punishment.

MEANWHILE……

(Leonard's POV)

Just as grandma had requested, I was already awaiting her arrival at the East wing of the estate. By the time she finally returned from tending to Damian's wounds the sun had already set.

“Leo” she called out, her expression remaining calm as she questioned me regarding the earlier on events. “Would you care to explain your role in the commotion that took place earlier today?”

“There's nothing to explain grandma, that bratty little girl crossed me so I decided to teach her a simple lesson, That's all.” I responded. Unsatisfied with my answer, she continued staring coldly at me, awaiting a proper confession. “Fine, I admit to the fact that my reaction might have seemed a little too extreme but it was completely necessary. And regarding Damian's injury, I hadn't anticipated his involvement but was willing to let his intervention slide until his blatant disrespect surfaced, leading me to discipline my nephew a little on his father's behalf, besides it's my duty to guide him onto the right path, is it not?” I continued, calmly stating facts. “If anyone is to be held responsible for the escalation of the situation, then it's your beloved great grandson…” “Leonard!!!” She yelled, in an attempt to call me to order. “Look me in the eyes and tell me you didn't do any of this because of Elisa's striking resemblance to Annalise?” the room fell into stunned silence the moment those words escaped her lips.”

Elisa's father fell back into his seat, a strange calm emitting from him as he spoke his final words. “Kill them” he ordered, his mind seemingly made up. And just like that, we were surrounded in seconds, multiple guns pointed at each of our heads, our men already restrained far behind us. “Eliot, you're going against our agreement!!!” Father retorted, trying to maintain his composure. “Agreement?” Elisa's father repeated, mocking father's choice of words. “The marriage alliance was only accepted with the hopes that you'd care for my daughter and treat her as one of your own, but instead of fulfilling your end of the bargain, you allowed your family to mistreat her, reducing her to such a state. I can't believe I actually entrusted her life into the hands of her mother's killer thinking we could bring an end to the disputes between our families and leave the past where it belongs but it seems you weren't truly in search of a reconciliation”. Father greeted his teeth in anger, looking

“Elisa!” I yelled, sprinting over as she laid motionless covered in blood. My mind reeled in horror, stunned at her current state. I pulled her into my arms, gently cupping her cheeks as I tried to shake her awake but to my dismay, she wasn't responding. “Elisa, please open your eyes. Wake up and say something, your silence is scaring me. What happened? Who did this to you?”. Unfortunately my desperate search for an answer, proved vain as Elisa still wasn't responding. It was only after a few moments of steadily observing her that I noticed she wasn't breathing at all, her chest laid completely still, not even the slightest bit of motion in sight. Panic enveloped me as I placed my head on her chest, hoping to hear a heartbeat but it was just as I had suspected, she didn't even have a pulse. My body froze at the horrid realization of Elisa's murder. Denial clouded my mind as I picked her up, carrying her lifeless body in my arms as I sprinted out of the estate, gently placing her in my

CHAPTER 12“Excuse me?” I retorted, barely restraining my anger as I tried my hardest not to retaliate her slap in fear of escalating the situation. “Have you no shame? Getting entangled with master Leonard whilst you're currently engaged to be married in only a month to sir Damian.” She spat, angry tears streaming down her face as she lunged at me, yanking me by the hair. “Master Leonard was mine, what gave you the right to take him away from me?!!! Weren't you already satisfied with Damian's looks and affection? Why choose to covet what belongs to others just for your own amusement?” She yelled, her voice rising with each passing second. “Is it because you're prettier than me, that you think you can take what's rightfully mine? Answer me!!!?” She went on, demanding a response but still refusing to let me speak. “Or is it because you're from a well off family that you think you're better than the rest of us and the world should cater the finest things only to you?” … “Fine” she conti

CHAPTER 11Feeling helpless at the thought of no other way out of the situation, I decided to take the initiative to lead it further as I boldly walked over and sat on his lap, my hand playfully teasing the bulge in his pants. I threw my arms around him, leaning in closer for a kiss but was met with rejection as he rose to his feet, tightly choking me by the neck, dragging me all the way to the door before finally releasing his grip. “What're you doing?” I questioned, as Leonard had me helplessly pinned against the door, ludged between his imposing figure and the only barrier keeping Damian from discovering our affair. He didn't even bother answering my question as he reached underneath the large shirt I was wearing, ripping my underwear right off as he picked me up, forcefully placing my arms around his neck, my legs instinctively wrapping around his waist in fear of falling. My chest pressed against his face as he held me up with just one hand, undoing his zipper with the other as h

“Finding out what?” Damian turned to me, genuinely concerned as he asked. “Elisa what is he talking about?”. I considered telling Damian everything first but my curiosity outweighed my fear as I accepted Leonard's invitation. “I'll go with you” I responded, my voice filled with uncertainty. “Good girl” Leonard mocked as he headed for the door, holding it open, gesturing for me to go on ahead and I obliged. Just as I was about taking Leonard's extended hand, Damian grabbed my arm, demanding an explanation. “What's going on? Why are you going along with him? Don't you understand how dangerous he is? Why are you getting involved with him?”. I hesitated, unsure of what to say as he stared at me expectantly. Before I could even respond, Leonard interrupted, picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. “Feel free to continue your interrogation when I'm done with her, as we're both currently occupied” and with that he walked away, dangling me over his shoulder as his moved calmly, forcin

  • LOVE BENEATH RIVALRY    CHAPTER 9

CHAPTER 9(Elisa's POV) My eyes were heavy, my knees quivering beneath me, threatening to give out as I struggled to withstand the final hours of my punishment. Just as I felt my vision blurring from the strain I was forced to endure and the immense hunger I was plagued with, the timer finally went off, signaling the conclusion of my punishment. My gaze landed on the clock delicately placed in the hall, it was already midnight. I struggled to help myself up but it proved difficult as my legs had long gone numb. The head maid and the rest of the staff just walked past me as their job had already been completed. Feeling helpless and incredibly dizzy, I laid softly on the ground as I patiently waited for my legs to regain functionality. Plagued by my exhaustion, I drifted off to sleep, awoken only a few hours later by the throbbing headache inflicted by my head injury.“Does it hurt?” A familiar voice questioned. As I looked up to see who it was, I was met with the worried gaze of Damia
