CHAPTER 7: Pain inside out!

Alexander's POV

" Wh- What is this?" I asked my mate in shock, I'm holding something that looks like skin from her hand.

She tenses and I can feel her panicking.

She's standing with her back in front of me but I can still see her shoulders due to her off-shoulder top and I saw something terrifying.

'Her skin's aging!'

To my surprise, I took a step backward.

" Something's wrong with our mate! Xander my wolf said.

"Your s-skin... W-why are th-" I wasn't able to finish what I'm trying to say as she tried to run away, but I grabbed her hand and that made her flinch. 

I wanted to ask her if what she's experiencing now was Cedric's doing, but she's struggling so much to break free from my grasp.

"Let go, Alexander!"

I can tell this is her weakened state from her voice and her breathing, but why is she still so strong that it's hard to hold her still for much longer.

" Wai-" I said, but before I can even finish a word she pushed me and I flew a few meters away. 

I hit my back on a tree behind me and when I stood back up from the fall Vanessa's nowhere to be found.

"W-what the hell... She seemed so weak yet so strong... there's no way a regular werewolf can disappear in just a split second, I can't even trace her scent.....  Not even me the best warrior in the pack can disappear this fast..." I don't know anymore I'm so confused.

"Just what the hell is going on?"

" What are you hiding Vanessa?..."

Vanessa's POV

I panicked when alexander took hold of my peeled-off skin.

I did reject him but I still don't want him to think I'm some kind of monster, just thinking about it makes my heart bleed.

I don't want him to look at me disgustingly again, not him of all people.

I'm sure my skin started to change when I was talking to Cedric considering it came off when Alexander grabbed my hand.

 My skin looks so disgusting whenever it's changing because it'll age like a hundred years old's skin until it all comes off and I will look like a hundred years old grandma.

Alexander took a step backward away from me when the changing of my skin reaches my shoulders, I know he saw it that's why he took a step backward, and it hurts me like hell knowing he's afraid of what I am.

I feel so terrible right now the pain from my skin changing and the pain from my heart is killing me... 

' Maybe I did the right thing rejecting him, he'll never accept me! He will never love a weird creature like me!!!' I said in my head, I felt my wolf whimper from the thought.

I want to leave and run away, I don't want to look back only to see his afraid and disgusted eyes, I know I'm so disgusting right now and he hates ugly things.

I took the courage to run with a painful heart and a trembling body, but he grabbed my hand again, the sparks eliciting from his touch only made the irritable feeling worse.

I'm afraid to face him so I pushed him away, and ran as fast as I can.

I ran and ran until I don't know where I am anymore, I only stopped running after making sure I'm far enough from Alexander.

'Maybe he got hurt since he didn't chase me. Or maybe he's too afraid of me and left or...maybe... just maybe.. he wanted to look for me but couldn't because it's impossible to trace me...'  I said in my head while searching for a river or a lake for me to dive in.

After searching for a while I smelt the refreshing smell of water and went in its direction.

I then got into the place where the refreshing smell of water came from, and I was in awe of the view, it's a lake a very beautiful lake, though it's already dark I can still clearly see.

Whenever I change skin I need to stay underwater the whole process or the process will be very painful than expected. It only takes 10-15 minutes for my skin to change completely and peel off, so I only have to endure a very quick moment of pain from the process and after that, I'm as good as new.

Usually, even before my skin started to itch I would always stay underwater an hour before, because if I don't stay in the water when I'm changing skin the pain can be compared to being skinned alive, and that hurts like hell.

I took a step closer to the lake ready to dive in when I heard a growl coming from across the lake.

' rogues!!!' Anessa said.

Anessa can't help me fight whenever I'm in the process of skin changing because for some unknown reason the skin changing's blocking my wolf from shifting making my senses weaker, and maybe that's the reason why I hadn't noticed rogues hiding in the woods near the lake.

I took a step backward away from the lake only to hear another growl coming from behind me.

I turned around to look at the wolf who growled and that's when I realized I was surrounded by a pack of rogues, a total of seven rogues to be exact.

"Well well... Look what we have here!" A woman's voice spoke from the left corner of the lake, she's shifted into a human and is completely naked. She has ginger hair and a sexy body but I couldn't see her clearly as the pain from my skin started to worsen making my vision blurry.

"Ughhh!! What the hell?.. it's a grandma?" The guy across the lake said after he shifted, he has dark brown hair with a sturdy figure.

Every inch of my skin all over my body has already aged and I'm only waiting for it to come off, so right now I'm a grandma.

" Let's just kill her! She's too old and disgusting to have fun with!" The guy beside him said he also has dark brown hair but has a thinner figure.

The pains getting out of control, I feel like I'm being skinned alive my breathing's getting faster and louder like I'm catching my breath, I'm sweating all over, and my knees are trembling.

" What's wrong with her?" The woman with ginger hair said. They've all shifted by this time now, and are all naked in front of each other and me.

" Maybe too scared? Hahaha," the guy with blonde hair said.

" Did you just pee in your pants grandma?" The woman with black hair said.

" Hey, Max? What are we gonna do with her?" Says the guy who has a serious vibe.

"What's wrong with you?" That Max guy asked while staring straight at me with a frown.

I couldn't answer him, I couldn't take the pain anymore. It's just too much to bear.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!"

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!"

I shouted as I stumbled and fell on the ground writhing in pain.

I cried as the pain overwhelmed me.

" Oh my god! W-what is that?" The woman with black hair said.

" What the hell? Her skin's peeling off!! Look!" The guy with dark brown hair with sturdy figure said.

They all stared at me as I tore off everything I'm wearing not leaving even a single pair of underwear, while I continued shouting from the pain hysterically.

I can't remember how much time has passed until all the pain disappeared, I stayed there lying on the ground completely naked, too weak to even lift a finger.

  The rogues surrounded me, their eyes glued on my body filled with lust.
