CHAPTER 19

It had already been quite a while since she started crying, Shirley listening on the other line.

"It's really really heartbreaking! I'm already this close to him, and now I'll be knowing that he is getting married already? I no longer want this! I'll return there tomorrow immediately," she shouted as the sobs went on.

Her tears were already all over her face, and she had no plans on wiping them off just so she'd feel the circumstance better.

"They'll still be getting married, they're not yet married. You still have a chance. You're even the one who said that you'll do anything to be Mrs. del Espania, right? How would that happen if you'll just go back here?" Shirley said in a gentle voice.

That was when Natasha stopped sobbing.

She was right. She hadn't even done any steps yet so she shouldn't give up yet. Moreover, that was literally the reason why she was there. For years, she had taken care of her feelings towards Clyde, and now she wanted to give up?

She was quick to wipe the tears off her face.

"You're right, Shirley. Our clan doesn't give up that easily. Thank you, you're heaven-made, bestie. I'll just call you again, okay? Take care always," she said goodbye to her quickly.

"Oh, okay. You too. Take care there, okay. Fighting, bestie! Fighting," the girl replied.

When the call had already dropped, she immediately called her grandmother.

"Yes, darling? It's great that you called," the old woman quickly answered her call.

"Grandma, did everyone that you've given advice regarding love potions really work? Was there any circumstance that it didn't work," she quickly asked her.

"What?" she asked, confused.

"Did everyone who went there end up together?" she asked, persistent.

"Of course. No one ever came back to me to complain," the old woman answered even when she was still confused.

Her crying face was then replaced with a smiling face after hearing her grandmother's reply.

"Thank you very much, grandma. I love you. I'll end the call, okay? I'm alright here, by the way. Take care of yourself there, okay? Bye, I love you once more," she said before dropping the call.

Feeling the excitement on her chest, she quickly stood up before searching inside her big bag. Her smile grew wider upon seeing the thing that she was looking for. She was already holding her grandmother's book about love potions and enchantment. She remembered how she didn't tell the old woman firsthand that she would be bringing the book with her. Luckily, her grandmother still hadn't looked for it.

She lied on her stomach on the bed before opening the book and reading it. She didn't know how many hours she took reading the book, but she didn't even feel tired, instead, she felt a stem of hope that was growing on her chest.

So, she'd be doing the first thing that was written in the book tomorrow already. Smiling, she lied on her back before hugging the book until she fell asleep in that position.

Natasha woke up early the next day just so she could prepare the first step of her bewitchment. She minced three pieces of garlic and half of an onion. She needed to mix those together with her cologne. Even when she was confused because it seemed like she would be cooking pickled fish with the ingredients that she'd be mixing, she had faith in her grandmother's book.

She even smelled her hand, but immediately took the mixture away from her nose because of how awful it smelled. She just hoped that the awful smell would be toned down by her cologne. She quickly took out the bottle of cologne inside her bag before mixing it with the mixture that she just made. After, she softly muttered a prayer just like what was written in the book.

Cum ergo caritas haec potio vitae meae amat notitiam et endlesly

Cum ergo caritas haec potio vitae meae amat notitiam et endlesly

Cum ergo caritas haec potio vitae meae amat notitiam et endlesly

She repeated that several times while her eyes were tightly shut, and her hands were over the bottle of cologne. When she finished, she had a huge smile on her face as she placed the cologne back inside her bag. She also cooked her breakfast quickly.

She hadn't received any text or call from Zara so that probably meant that the girl wasn't expecting her to be in the office early. Her working hours were eight in the morning until five in the afternoon.

Before the clock ticked eight, she was already inside the jeepney, on her way to the office. Zara made her report on the sixth floor every day. That was also the floor where her office was. When she entered a big room, she saw that there were many cubicles inside. She knew that that place was where the designers of the company work, and the ones who were also assigned for advertising as well.

She saw five people who were already in their own cubicles. She smiled at them. Contrary to what she initially believed, the designers didn't really look like models. There was one who gave her a smile, but there were also ones who raised their eyebrows at her.

She looked for Zara's office, and she immediately saw a door that had the girl's name on it. She knocked on it, and when no one answered, she tried opening the door to see whether there was someone inside the room.

The girl still wasn't in her office so she decided not to go in. She walked in the direction of the people who were already in their own cubicles.

"Hi! Good Morning! I'm Natasha, by the way, and I'm still new here," she introduced herself before showing them the big ID that she was wearing.

Four people just stared at her without saying anything before getting their attention back to the things that they were working on. However, there was one girl who smiled at her.

"Hi. I'm Myla," she introduced herself, smiling.

She was the only one among the five who actually had the looks. The two of them were a little older already and looked really strict while the remaining two were gays who were also older.

She walked towards the girl and sat on the empty chair beside her. She even held out her hand for a handshake.

"I'm Miss Zara's new assistant," she added.

"Did she make you cry on your first day?" the girl asked, giggling.

She couldn't help but laugh at her question as well. Looked like the girl was popular because of that talent of hers.

"So you're the new assistant. Can you get me a cappuccino in the vendo?" a girl who looked like Bella Flores because of the tattoo on her eye said.

"Ah, okay," she said before standing.

"Mine's black coffee," the other girl said.

"Ours is coke and chocolate," said one of the two gays.

"Okay, alright. I'll just go out, and fetch your requests," she said.

She was already happy that the four talked to her. She was about to leave the room when Myla stopped her.

"Wait. Ask them for money. Don't tell me you'll be the one who'll be paying for their drinks when they've already commanded you, and in the first place, it's not even your job to begin with," she said before shooting a look at the four people.

"Get it on the ground floor because the vendo's free there," said the other.

"You get yours from there because you're the ones who'll be drinking," said Myla once more.

Even before she got the chance to talk, they gave Myla a sullen glance before grabbing their own purses, took out their money before placing them on the table in an angry manner. She was hesitant when she picked their money before looking at Myla and giving her a smile. The girl nodded and smiled at her as well.
