SUSANThick clouds gather heavily in the sky, thunderclaps, and lightning strikes. Susan walks aroundthe house locking all windows and doors firmly,whenever the sky decides to let down all it hasgathered, it would be a heavy downpour and Susan doesn't want to be caught unaware that's why she left Tade's house in a hurry after her mom's text message came in, informing her that she did a lot of their laundry before she left home for her friends' place, she had begged Susan to go home and fetch them from the lines before the rain drench them all.Having locked all windows, fetched and arrangedall clothes, Susan gives herself a break and decides to rest. She has been trying to sleep all day long but several happenings around her keep interrupting her. TADE"Are you girls just going to pretend and say nothing about it?" Tade asks Nora and Chichi who have decided to be mute since Susan left "About what??"Chichi asks while Nora inattentively chuckles as she chats on her phone "Am I the only one having a bad feeling about Susan's sudden wedding announcement?" she submits and stares disgustingly at Nora who wasn't listening or engaging in the conversation, Tade picks up her throw pillow and throws it at Nora to get her attention "Hey! what's that for?" CHICHIAfter the wine and dining with her friends that day, Chichi retired to the second bedroom in Tade's house later in the night. The fun time she had with her friends really helped her shove her exhausting worries aside for a while. She has decided to stay a while at Tade's to help with Susan's wedding plan and Tade's divorce process, even though those reasons lie on her tongue. All she wants at the moment is to avoid her mother, only that she has to go home to pick up some office wear the next day, she can't stay indoors forever if she wants her bills paid.Chichi has been independent since her University days, though her parents did their obligation well, her father did mostly, while her mother is the kind of woman who depends solely on her husband to do everything in the house, no matter how little it is, she will always say it was the man's responsibility to care for the home. SUSANSusan stops at a supermarket near her office to grab something edible for Bode, she can't believe nobody reached out to her since the incident happened. Even if they can't stay by his side, they should have called someone who cared enough for him to stay with him. She is so disgusted by Linda's attitude. She picks enough snacks, beverages, fruits, tea, and milk that would last them a while since she can't say for a certain how long he would stay admitted. She goes to the pay point to pay and leaves the supermarket in a hurry.Susan gets to the hospital and asks the nurse onduty what room her friend Bode was in and she was directed instantly. NORANora struggles to open the door to her living room, with her phone stuck in her ear tightly held by her shoulder, and her other hand holding onto her handbag, and a bigger bag filled with the clothes she took from Tade. She grunts as she struggles to fit the key into the keyhole "Should I call you back so you can finish up with what you are doing?" the voice over the phone says but Nora refuses "No, it's just the door. I will open it"The door to her one-bedroom apartment finally opens, Nora exhales joyfully "you see! It's open! I told you I will open it" Spence agrees with his strong-willed girlfriend "Yes you did. So you have been with your friends since morning? I'm jealous they get to spend more time with you than me". Nora chuckles and teases him as she enters herneatly arranged but dusty apartment, she drops the bags on her center table "so you missed me? SUSAN"Hey! Are you good?" Bode's croaky voice startles Susan who is lost in thought as she stares blankly at her numerous unread messages to Henry "Hey! You are awake! Don't bother about me, I am fine... I should be the one doing that, how are you feeling?" Susan holds his palm in hers and caresses his palm. Bode grunts as he moves his body to sit up "As you can see, I'm not dead. Lol, when did you get here?". "Few hours ago, I'm glad to see that. In as much as you are so annoying, I still need you very much alive" Susan nags about how she wasn't informed on time about his poisoning and how pissed she is at Linda for not staying by his side. Bode just watched Susan play dramatic over his illness and chuckles when he asked why she is so concerned and mad over it but she still denies being concerned about him neither does she have any care in the world for him. TADETade is all dressed up that morning, she knocks on Chichi's door and threw the door open "Hey babes, I'm heading to my parent's house. You will still be around when I'm back right?" Chichi who is wide awake already, greeted her good morning and Tade apologizes for not saying it first. Chichi tells her that she will be here at her place for a while "Though I will go to my place briefly to pick up some items for work but that will be in the evening" Tade catches her reflection in the mirror, and she enters the room to get more details of her outfit as she turns and peeps to see it on the mirror "Okay! SUSANSusan's doorbell rang exactly at seven, she is all dressed awaiting Henry to pick her up. Her mother admires how ravishingly she looks and implores her to follow the etiquette she has taught her. Since her mom got back from Henry's house, she hasn't stopped talking about how lovely the family is and will be so glad if Susan and her can be part of it. She informed her about the date and her mother has been going around to make sure the outing is a blast. She picked out her dress, styled her hair, and monitored her when she was applying her makeup. At a point she got tired as her mother wouldn't stop asking for a dry run of the date rehearsal she enforced her to have with her, stating what she should say, how she should reply, and even how she should smile. Finally, the hour has arrived. Susan opens the door for Henry who has been waiting outside for a minute or two, she is surprised to see him casually dressed, she seemed overdressed for this outing and she is so embarrassed. She
